    How about a bowl of oatmeal (porridge) sweetened with a mashed banana. I prefer the banana added after the cereal is cooked. Another option is to sweeten it with a grated apple and cinnamon. And if you're really hungry, sweeten it with a mashed banana topped with chopped apple. Calories with 1 piece of fruit is about 258 and fully satisfies you.

    • @cihunter4986
      @cihunter4986 4 роки тому +2

      That banana and porridge just bombed your blood sugars by anything up to 60g especially if you also had either skimmed or semi skimmed milk on it which is basically just sugar water. Calories are irrelevant it's far more important how your body uses the types of food you eat. That breakfast spiked your blood sugars causing a massive insulin response which will store some as fat, and allow a little glucose only to be use for energy for hours because your body fat is locked up by the insulin. Then it will leave you with suddenly crashed blood sugars and hungry again in a few hours or less. Blood sugars are naturally higher first thing, this is called the dawn phenomenon, and is an evolved survival mechanism because you do not need breakfast you have all the energy you require stored a glucose in the muscles and can access your body fat for more while you go out and find food in the wild. Your body has no idea that is not the case now, it just works the way it evolved to work and we didn't evolve to eat fruit all year round or live on grains that just turn to glucose in the blood and do us no good whats-o-ever. If you want satiety for many hours eat fatty protein what you ate was just gut bulk and sugar, neither of which will last longer than an hour or two. Most people will have that breakfast at say 8am and be reaching for a snack mid morning saying they are starving but they aren't, they just have suddenly dropped blood sugars because they always keep them running on too high a level. The most glucose you should have safely in your blood at any one time is about 5g tops and your body makes it on demand and keeps it at exactly that level without you ever eating a single gram of carbohydrate foods.

    • @savedbygrace1582
      @savedbygrace1582 4 роки тому +16

      @@cihunter4986 There is a big difference in whole foods and processed foods. What spikes the blood sugar is a bowl of sugar we call cereal and consider it healthy because it's fortified. The other option is a plate of fat and cholesterol we call bacon and eggs, so blood sugar was sacrificed for heart disease and bowels that don't work. The fiber in whole foods slows digestion keeping you full longer, and oatmeal is one of only 3 foods that have been scientifically proven to reduce blood cholesterol. Only in this modern age of obesity would we consider fruit the evil cause.

    • @cihunter4986
      @cihunter4986 4 роки тому +2

      @@savedbygrace1582 Fat and cholesterol are not the cause of heart disease carbohydrates are, your bowels only need fibre to push the constant sludge of a carb based diet through they are designed by evolution to work on a diet consisting mainly of fatty protein from animals sources only. We only ate fruit in summer to gain weight for the winter ahead and it serves no purpose nutritionally in our die.
      Fibre doesn't slow down he over all impact of the glucose and fructose in the food we eat, the blood sugar impact is always the blood sugar impact fast or slow it makes no difference your insulin rise will convert the unused energy to fat and store it them lock it it and make you hungry again an hour or so later and fibre doesn't give satiety as our bodies switch off satiety to promote the ability to gorge and gain weight when we eat any carbohydrate foods fibrous or otherwise.
      The human body only gets satiety from fat and meats not carbs, which are simply not causing the correct response to promote satiety. When you eat less and move more your body reacts by slowing down your metabolism, lowering your basal metabolic rate and at that point even a tiny bit of extra food will store as fat even though you are eating far less than your body actually needs to live on if it was running on it's normal BMR. A high fat diet will actually speed up the metabolism and allow you to eat the amount of food you need to cover not just your BMR but your total daily energy expenditure and still lose weight. There is a lower insulin response to meats/protein and almost no insulin response for fat. Insulin response is how you gain weight and if you eat fruit cereals etc you are storing it while losing it and as your body is designed to protect it's self from the effects of starvation your BMR will slow down and your weight loss will stop and your body will intensely and relentlessly drive you to eat more again, your will power is not going to over come that as it is a survival mechanism controlled by your physical brain not your thinking brain. This is called Bio-chemistry, it is not an opinion as you gave based on no credible science, created by the food industry and passed on person to person in order to get them to buy products . Calories are irrelevant, energy in versus energy out is nonsense, you do not get satiety from any carb based foods and there is no deficiency disease for carbohydrates therefore none that we must eat daily for nutrients. You will die without fat and protein and you will live along healthy happy life without carbs and I include fruit in that statement.
      And if you feel anger a what I have just written then look up cognitive dissonance and also be aware that when you think about fruit the addiction centre of your brain produces a little dopamine to nudge you into eating it, again an evolved survival mechanism but now you're actually addicted to fruit that is bigger sweeter and has no resemblance to what our ancestors would have eaten . Cereals and even wholegrain bread are both processed foods and no human being ever evolved to consume grain of any kind, it is highly toxic and causes mineral deficiency and gut damage, and always has. If you bother to look up Porotic Hperostosis in post agricultural societies you will find that a diet of bread has been the cause of human health devolving significantly since it was adopted. And I include oats with all breakfast cereals which are a toxic way to start your day and provide no nutrients you need whatsoever, and absolutely do not provide satiety as satiety means you may go many hours between meals, maybe even eat once a day, not eat 3 meals and 2 snacks between aday and be actively hungry at every meal and snack as that is merely reactive Hypoglycaemia and not actually hunger at all.
      But boy does keeping you hungry and ignorant sell food products and diet groups, but when you get fatter and sicker, or sicker regardless of your weight, then you get prescribed medications that do not resolve the issue, just slightly slow it down, and makes a huge profit for drug companies, just as the low fat diet makes huge profits for diet groups and diet food companies. The governments job is to run the economy not give toss about your health so it pays lip service to saying we need measures for good health while telling you to keep on eating the same crap anyway for the profits created. If you still think that eating the same food that made you fatter and sicker is going to somehow make you slimmer and healthier than there is no hope for you and you will yo-yo diet for life, never really achieving your goal weight for very long, and not preventing either heart disease or diabetes because they are both caused by carbohydrates and you are still eating them.

    I used to be like the priest... I was ADDICTED to Pepsi. The sound, the fizziness, the cold bubbles hitting my tongue. I couldn't have a meal without it.
    Then one day (after 20+ years of drinking at least 1L a day), I drank a glass and was completely turned off. It tasted like chemicals. I kept drinking, but only because I wanted that cold bubble sensation. Then finally I thought, "I wish I can have the cold bubble sensation without the horrible chemical aftertaste...." and it was like a lightbulb moment. Plain soda water! I quit soda that day, bought a soda stream, and I've been drinking plain soda water for 7 years now. The cold fizzy bubbles are sooo satisfying.
    I still have no clue why my tastebuds suddenly hated the taste of soda... maybe it was a bad batch? Or I just happened to be sick that day?? No clue, but I'm glad for the change!

    My ex-husband drank 2 liters of Coke a day and weighted only 126 pounds (9 stone) even though he stood 6'3". The rest of his diet consisted of 3 - 5 small apples, a medium sized tossed salad and 2 oz of steak a day. He ate same thing every day. No mixtures. Maybe the odd time he would eat 350 calorie restaurant meal. Meanwhile I was 5'2 and weighed 200 lbs (about 14 stone). His pickiness made my eating problems worse because we always fought about food. I became a secret eater - sometimes eating a whole cake, or whole roast while he was away at work. 30 years later, I still struggle with binge eating.

    carbonated flavored water is a great replacement for cola. you get that fizzy without the junk. oh and sorry girls..the loss of 5-10 lbs isnt enough to get those bodies into those dresses. the amount of flesh spilling over for each one is well over 3-5 inches when the ration of pound to inch is 10 pound per inch. they would all need to lose 30lbs min to fit into those dresses and not something you can do in 2wks.

    • @rachelgarcia1790
      @rachelgarcia1790 2 роки тому +3

      There's a difference on average of 10 pounds per dress size. One could argue that the dresses they tried on at the start were two or three sizes too small for them, and that the dresses at the end were either tailored in to fit or were only one size smaller than where they started - a bait and switch. In fairness, just not being bloated from all the booze would go a long way to helping them feel better in those outfits. What we don't know is how much muscle was gained from exercise that they lost in fat - they didn't give their overall measurements, and that would be the best indicator of size. Finally, we aren't taking into account any sort of stretch in the fabric. I have size 16 outfits that stretched over my frame when it was a size 20. Never underestimate the power of spanx.

Also with only 1200 cals a day, I'm surprised they haven't lost more since they seem active (working, basic metabolism need, ect) :\

    • @Criseteno
      @Criseteno 5 років тому +13

      There are many reasons they could be losing weight slowly, but, just to put things in perspective, it is not healthy at all to lose more than about 3-4 lbs per week -- if you're doing it in the long run. One of the reasons things might be going slowly is the age of some of the participants, since the older you get the less kcals you actually need every day. Another reason is that most of these women are serial dieters (and yes, the lovely Anna as well, if her shows can be believed). The more you practice starvation-based diets, the more your body gets used to it, and also, the slower your metabolism gets. Starvation diets are not only dangerous in the short run, but also in the long run. I think there is more to losing weight than just kcal counting. For instance, all these women seem to have relatively large dinners. If they eat late, then maybe that's not such a great idea. All of that put aside, if you are struggling with an eating disorder, please get help. I also had trouble with that for years, and although I mostly came out of it OK, it was a very near miss. Best of luck.

      @@wardiya3arbiya I had an unquenchable thirst. I normally drink half a gallon of water a day. That day, I drank a full gallon and I was still thirsty. And I hadn't exercised that day so I had been inside my cool apartment. So it's not like I was sweating a lot or anything.
      Also, I have unfortunately come across where internet gurus knew more than my doctor or my doctor was simply refusing to help me properly. Earlier this year I had a sudden pain in the back of my head. Whenever I sneezed, pain would shoot from the base of my skull and wash over my head. After this happened for a few days I knew something was wrong so I went to the doctor. He said, "You have scoliosis (which I've had since birth.) and you have a desk job. You're going to feel pain the rest of your life. Now come to my office once a week for 12 weeks then we'll see what happens." He hooked me up to a machine and had someone show me some stretching exercises and the first week I felt significantly better. The second week, I felt MUCH MUCH WORSE. So I looked online using the name of the muscle he said was the problem.I found a body builder who talked about Upper Crossed Syndrome and that it was associated with bad posture, which I've always had terrible posture. Searching through the comments, I was directed to another video where a guy said, "Look up. We used to look at the stars. Now we're always looking down at our phones." So I looked up and I instantly noticed the tension in my neck muscles. I looked up and stretched out the muscles and for the first time, the pain in my neck went away. I have to do that every few days or the pain comes back.
      I have to decide if I really need to go to the doctor. I'm not some nut who just believes anything I see online. If I get sick I go to the doctor. If I feel something is wrong, I go to the doctor. But when the doctor fails then I have to figure out for myself what's wrong. And I only have one kidney so if something was wrong then I would immediately go to the doctor.
