In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. This is a fantastic channel. The logic for each video is my favorite part.
I enjoy having the streams in the background on my commutes. Even if I don't know every play, each important relic, card pick, and tough turn is narrated
I think, the base rupture should give you 2 strength for each time you lose hp from one of your cards and the upgrade should make it innate. The biggest problem I have with rupture decks is not getting the rupture soon enough.

I think it's safe to say the Ironclad did, indeed, Feel No Pain in this run. Especially with four copies of the thing!

I wonder if making it "Get 1 ritual everytime you lose health on your turn" makes it decent. It would delay the strenght acquisition, but at least scales well over time?
@@davidemirante9405 It would tripple delay - You need to play card THAN make yourself lose life THAN gain strength way to slow for any corridor figths it would be marginaly usefull in coupple bosses and maby bearly worth a slot in hearth - best comparison to it would be worse deamon form - deamon form just works needs no support ( beside it being expensive to play ofc)
@@sober667 well, against heart would be godly to be honest, and I can see saving quite a few runs where you reach the heart but really have nothing to deal consistent damage. I do agree it serves no much purpose whatsoever on corridor fights, but a tech card for heart would be better than the actual "almost always worthless" version I think.
@@davidemirante9405 im thinking would i wana have it over limit brake with some synergy? no - limit brake has way mor synergies and its easier to use
Over deamon form - not realy - deamon form may cost alot but its card wich alone is nice and you have plenty of synergies and does not require you to hurt yourself - and you need to play card and hurt yourself 3 times for it to be even to deamon form on the same turn
lets do exact math you play it and you hit yourself lets say once - next turn you have +1 than you hit yourself twice next turn you have total +4 while upgraded deamon form already put you on +6 with no hurting yourself
and again only figth wich you can easly and reliably hit yourself is hearth ( ofc unless you have some crazy synergy )
you would need to make it innate to make it worth while - most of heart solving cards are at least somewhat usefull in other figths this one would literaly curse unless you have synergy - instatnt strength is tiny bit better in every figth

Oh wow, there is still Clad runs in the cache? Not that I am complaining, but I feel like I have been watching silent runs for over a month on the unedited channel. Just surprised by the time lag. 😮
I hope not. This channel has been like 9 to 1 ironclad and it's starting to get a little old
Most runs will be Silent, but Baalor still does runs on other characters during the challenge, and if they happen to be good they will show up here.
I’d say all you need to do to upgrade rupture is add 1, maybe 2 more self damage cards
for the rupture. what if the upgrade made it so that you took 2 damage every turn in such a way that it procs itself
But then you aren’t taking damage from the card, it would be a status effect

I'd love to hear more ideas for challenges. The Two Card Mastery was an amazing thing to witness.
Would Score Mastery be fun? Try to get high scores on every character? Probably not. How about a 22 Game Rotating Win Streak? That would be donkey balls of awesome!
The 20 win streak challenge will go on for the rest of this year (unless Baalor happens complete all the streaks).

Baalor has stopped trying on Ironclad for now (the best was 11) and is now working on Silent, planning to revisit Clad later in the year. Thus, this Ironclad video doesn't have a streak counter.
I have started playing Slay the spire recently after watching your videos and I always forget to pick up the red and blue key before the act 3 boss so I can fight The Heart.
This run has multiple of every part of the game winning Corruption/Dark Embrace/FNP… Next run guaranteed early corruption and zero Dark Embrace and FNP. 😂

I don't know if this is just me, but I don't like these "exploit" titles, and I'd rather see them stop being used. Somehow it feels like it goes against the ethos of Baalor, his way of playing, and so on.
Generally creators don't care much for them either. The results however make it a necessary thing.

Honestly, I'm not big on the borderline clickbaity style of titling in general. But then again, I suppose "Slay the Spire: Ironclad Episode 43" doesn't draw in the views as much...

Personally, I'd buff Rupture by buffing Combust.
Gotta be honest, I really dislike this new intro. It feels... blatant and intrusive, like it's taking up space and time without adding anything.
Maybe try beginning with a highlight clip or something like that?
