Another great bike and great value too! Check out when we visited the Mondraker factory here: ua-cam.com/video/vgKy6s6k9NM/v-deo.htmlsi=LNZwIH5S4lOTe1jc
@@bikeradar I've seen it 😉 I think it's a great bike and I also got a killer deal on it! The retailer had a frame for sale and they fitted it with Öhlins suspension, dt swiss m1900 wheels and sram GX components.
i went the lesser known route and bought myself a Radon Slide Trail 10.0 which was in sale and was amazing value.. i think its a german brand and outside of germany and austria almost nobody rides them but for 2799.00€ for a Carbon bike with Fox suspension (the good gold stuff), carbon wheel set from newmen and more.. it felt like a crime not going for it
Would never buy a canyon ever again. Not a good experience. Terrible creaks right out the box, terrible headset design and if you need replacement parts you are going to pay outrageous prices and import fees. Buy local.
IMHO on the Canyon, they should've used GX Eagle mechanical or XT and saved some money to either reduce the price of the bike or spend it on better wheels, AXS on a budget bike makes no sense. With the Propain, that 210x55 shock is a near deal breaker, that is is a terrible leverage ratio for a 160 rear travel back end, the Propain is only for people the size of Remy Metallier or smaller. If they were trying to save space in that linkage with the short shock, maybe go trunnion mount and run like a 205x65 to get a coil friendly leverage ratio.
It's also about 2lbs heavier than it needs to be. 36lbs for a carbon enduro bike is ridiculous. My RM altitude, also carbon frame with alloy wheels is 34lbs with cushcore, and I could probably get it on the low side of 33lbs with carbon rims.
@@bikeradar Alloy frame with good components can be great if weight isn't a concern for sure. In my case I got a killer deal on a RM Altitude last year and ended up with my first carbon bike.
someone who pays 5k for a non e bike doesnt have the 1000s to pay out for thee e bike once it fcks up and that warranty is up on the motor and beleive me ive been down this road
You'd be disappointed with the canyon in the long run. Their aluminium frames are terrible quality and are known to crack. I've cracked 3 in 4 years and had to claim multiple times on warranty. Don't be drawn in by the specs and research other brands gor better quality
@@alex_n8863 Thats cool but these guys clearly aren't into that, they are into more demanding and technical casual riding where a bigger bike is a huge advantage. Maybe they should hire an XC enthusiast to their team to cover that ground though.
Do you agree with any of these? 👇
Yes, Cotic Jeht 👌
Not really... Given the number of direct to consumer brands, it feels a bit like an advertisement
Ibis Ripley AF for the win 🏆
wow the canyon price vs specs is pretty crazy!!
It's such great value, I can see why Tom would buy one; then he will have more spare money for fast cars 😂

As this clip demonstrate tast is very personal, for me it was the mondraker raze r aluminium

That sounds like such impressive value. Hope you're enjoying it!

Thought hard about the Canyon Neuron, went with the Allied BC40. Really happy I did!!!
The Allied looks a stunning bike, but they are spendy! I really want to give one a go, but I wouldn't be able to afford one!
Thanks for watching!

@@bikeradar I got a great deal so that helped a lot. Now to get my Achilles healed up so I can ride it. 🙂
That's like shopping for a Honda Civic and buying a Porsche 911 haha

@@sgt.sender1 Then you're lucky if the frame doesn't brake
I rock an Orbea Occam custom built, but closer spec to a 2023 H20 LT, except it has 140 fox float DPS kashima in the rear.
Phwoar, sounds like a proper beast! Enjoy!

Interesting reviews-where do you get suspension custom tuning?
Capra definitely is a buy
That intense is at least 2 grand over priced
It is on sale currently 😉 Not that your comment made Intense lower the price!

Great vid.
Thanks James, always great to hear you're enjoying!

A transition patrol for sure should be on this list
Great shout, the Patrol is a lovely bike!
You guys need to try Pyga
We'd love to, they look sick!
I like my Ibis Ripley AF
I was so close to choosing the Ripley AF over the Canyon! Hoping they do an updated AF with the tweaks found on the carbon one
What do you guys think of the canyon torque? It looks to be similar to the capra and is also good value
@@davinci69 stay clear. Canyons just break
Ummm Fox Performance Elite has the exact same adjustments as Factory, it’s literally just the Kashima coating that’s different.
Canyon Tazer is an ebike, this is clearly a Tracer being ridden.
Cotic 👌🏻
Steel is real 🤘
Status 160 when it was £2k
Yeah heck of a deal and a great bike! Would love one!

A wireless only frame will not be on my wishlist.
Wow a complete video on what bike not to buy. Advertising at its best.
So its mostly aluminium and some steel ....Carbon gets 1/2 votes
hmmm
Carbon is great, but if you want value for money, aluminium is sometimes the way to go

Shame to hear, we've had good experiences with any test bikes we've had long term
I've never heard anything good about Canyon's carbon either.
They're spoilt
We really are! We all love being able to sample so many cool bikes and bring you the results!

Nice choice, if not a budget one!
them not picking xc bikes is a big fail
Not a surprise though, is it? XC gets a raw deal from MBUK........
Why would you pick an XC bike if you're not racing XC?
