Additionally, “who so ever diggeth a pit shall fall in it” is a double entendre…it’s the obvious Jamaican proverb but also Lee Perry used to literally dig a pit say chants and burry the masters reels. This warmth and condensation and humidity would warp the tapes just enough to create a unique signature sound nobody else could get. They were both geniuses in their own right but once the bad blood was spilled never got alone. We are all richer for having their contributions to music!
