Why do you view it as a get rich quick scheme? I think that probably says more about your beliefs than it does the channel. No offence. Just an observation.
I don't think anyone else talks about it in the self-improvement space these days. I was the same dude who'd meditate, workout, wake up & go to bed early, learn investing, etc. I'd consume all long form podcasts about progress and improvement from different scientists, but it was Andrew Kirby who made me realize this paradox of how progressing doesn't always take you nearer to your goals. Since then, I'd started focusing more on a few things that matter more. This video was a great sequel and a reminder.
Always remember… well, firstly “purpose/intent”… but after that, to always use the Pareto ratio / Price’s Law., then apply Action Priority Matrix. You mentioned 4 goals without an end metric for success. 1) mental health 2) physical health 3) progress/improvement/learning 4) investing knowledge ACTION: A) Define the specific metrics for success for each. B) Identify those metrics across time (days/month out, and/or by specific dates/ages (and your reasons for those dates/times) C) apply the 80/20 rule to each goal’s metrics. Focus on the important parts (and why those specific metrics made the cut). D) apply the Action Priority Matrix to the chosen focus points/metrics. … the do it.
@@KGTiberius I had goals for each of them, but my point is that there's a limit to our effort applying capability. While you can focus on actually improving at meditating, become knowledgeable or get stronger, it'll fatigue you mentally but you'll always choose these easier ways to improve and feel good at night, while in reality you won't be a competent person because all you focus will be towards things that don't matter the most.
Basically, it's essentialism in what is necessary to get you to where you want to be. For example, as a UA-camr, don't worry about your camera quality and wasting a lot of time researching the BEST cameras out there. Instead, focus on actually creating videos consistently and uploading them.
#2: "What, if I do, would make it unreasonable for me not to achieve the things that I want to achieve." I've listened to this part of the video at least a dozen times, written it out and read it another dozen times, and still not sure I can make sense of this. Are you saying do the one thing that I know, if I do it, there's basically no way not to achieve the goal? I don't know if it's not the double negatives, but at least my brain isn't not being passive anymore.
I'm Studying applied theology at Moorlands University. The same place your father works at. And one of the things we are taught is that its not just about learning the existence of God or the Christian life through Jesus Christ. But to act it out. They will send us to other churches and we would have to put what we learned to practise such as How to be loving to your neighbour, how to serve for God etc.
This hit to close to home. Didn't realise this was happening with me until i watched this. I've been making progress for a year. I've been stretching what i should've finished in 3 months with intense focus and dedication. I've been on the right path but at a snail like pace. Now i see if it keeps going on like this it's gonna take years if I don't apply this. Getting their quick is more important than just making steady progress. Thank you for this
1. clearly define exactly what it is what you wany 2. what if i do, would make it unreasonable for me not to acheive the things i want to achive 3. get to work
Action or inaction defines your future. I don't know man, it sounds fun to achieve greatness and be the person you want to be. Solid advice. One example is how people create a financial roadmap and design it as they like by using merely calculations and number. What originally seemed like a random guess of what's achievable can be made realistic backed up by those numbers. I would say that making those calculations to make the end goal possible are the answer to Andrew's question: "What do I need to do to guarantee I get what I want?". Find the calculations (answer) necessary to achieve a your goal. Just like a financial roadmap, it means NOTHING if one takes no action. Putting your gears on and learning as you go is the key. TBH, I talk crap but yield no results, but this self-help community allows me to move on and forgive my past procrastinations and propel myself towards my ideal self. I'm only getting my gears back on recently and truly thankful I watched the video, I wish the best for everyone.

Hey Andrew, I've read 1 of your tweets you talked about your microeconomics study and I think it would be great idea to do more videos about that. I also see not many people talk about how they apply what they learn from microeconomics into making money (except Naval) so perhaps might be good niche here. Anyway, keep going making great content, cheers 💪
Awesome application of Negative visualisation. Personally I believe we can enjoy the journey towards our progress, even if it is hard. Pain needs to drive us. Not make us give up.
#2 is simply "what if I do would make it unreasonable for me not to achieve the things that I want to achieve?". Once you have clearly identified your goal, you need to work out what steps to take that would make you overwhelmingly likely to succeed. Then you get to work on doing that and don't let anything stop you. It's up to Andrew to explain himself, but I'll give you an idea of how I think of #2. "I want to achieve X". Who as achieved similar? What did they do? What is the success rate? What actions could you take, to make it very likely that you would succeed? If you have a good answer for those questions, then go and do it and don't let anything get in your way. If you don't see a path to achieve your goal, look some more or pick a more achievable goal. Don't spend your time fantasising about a goal that you are not going to achieve. But if you can achieve it, then work work work and get it done!

You will sacrifice (almost) all your time and pleasures, but when you reach your goal (eventually) you will get the power of the unstoppable will. What you work on (80/20) & How much you work on it (Quantity of Work) is more important than just making progress since our time here is limited
