- Hi everyone, welcome to my channel where I share my passion for camping and adventure. In this video, I’m going to review the TentBox Lite XL Roof Tent, which is a spacious, lightweight and easy to set up roof tent that can fit on almost any car.
The TentBox Lite XL Roof Tent is a new model from TentBox, a UK-based company that makes high-quality roof tents. It has a super-king mattress that can sleep four adults comfortably, and it has a lot of features that make it stand out from other roof tents. Some of these features are:
Summer Mode: You can remove the rain fly to enter ‘Summer Mode’ for a more minimal look and quicker set-up. It’s still showerproof, you just need to keep the windows closed if it rains.
Double Skylight: The double skylight and large all-around windows give you amazing views of your surroundings, the sunset and the stars. All windows have fly-mesh to keep the bugs out.
Spacious, but compact: The XL is huge inside, but it weighs only 62 kgs, which is less than the average person. The fold-up design means it’s really compact and you’ll barely notice it on your car.
5-minute setup: Set-up is easy and it can be done by a single person. The travel cover is rolled up and stowed away after set-up, and the rainfly poles live in a drop-down pocket. Set-up time is even quicker in ‘Summer Mode’.

My tentbox 2.0 arrived last week, and i just put it on the roof rack, i also got the condensation mat that goes under the mattress, as from other reviews it can get a bit damp, but the mat enables air to pass underneath the mattress, like you say its a great comfortable roomy tent, i have booked up some camp sites so looking forward to doing some camping, oh i also got a alarm from tentbox, and i also made a lock so i can lock the tentbox to the roof rack!

Hey 👋 thanks for checking out my video, Ive been in it with a medium wind blowing and it’s been great, you can see an example of this in my video about it being used as a day van, I’m on the beach in the winter in that one and I found it very sturdy and really closed me off from the elements but they are rated up to 39mph winds. I’ve also been in it when we’ve had showers and it’s been absolutely fine I’ve just opened it up to dry out when I’ve got home 😁 hope this helps

It’s really good and one of the main reasons I chose that one. I also think it blends in a bit better with the outdoor surroundings

Did the windows have bug screens plus the rain plastic doors?

It looks amazing and me and my partner are looking at getting one. One thing im scared of is parking up somewhere when its not in use to for a walk and some scumbag taking it off and stealing it. Probably a low chance of it happening but is possible. Wonder if theres anything to do to prevent it
Yeah I had the same worry, I put an alarm on it and some extra clips over the nuts that attach the box to the bars just to make it more awkward if some scum bag tried to detach it.I believe You can also get them insured.
This is a very nice tent, How many people can sleep in?

Can I place this on a bed rack on the back of a pick up truck?
Hey bud,Yes I believe roof tents can be installed on the rear cab of a pick up truck using a suitable, truck bed rack.
What happens if it’s raining heavy and you pack it away wet
All I would recommend is that you open it up after you get home on a dry day just to air it out 😁
What do you if its been raining how do you dry it out
Hey, last time it got rained on, I packed it away as normal then when I got home and the rain had stopped,I just popped it open to air for a bit and that worked fine
This seems like a really overengineered solution to me, compared with pitching a normal tent. For the price of these you could get a really decent tent
I've genuinely never understood the popularity of these things. That model is £1895. If you don't already have roofbars then youre looking at spending £2k on a tent. TWO.......GRAND for a tent you can't stand up in. I'm genuinely staggered. You'd have the arse ache of detatching it every time you come home because if you don't theres a chance someone will nick it plus the extra weight on your vehicle just doesnt make it practical at all. I've got a huge air tent that's probably three times the size of that you can walk around in and has a room at the front separate to your bedroom which wouldn't take me all that much longer to put up than that. Maybe 10/15 minutes more but which was around 75% cheaper. Also, if you're away camping and want to leave the camp in your vehicle, you then have to put it down and then back up again each time.
Nice, comprehensive video mate but I just cannot see the benefits at all especially at such an astronomical price for a tent.
