Captain Krista chiming in…great to fly with you Pete. Thanks for highlighting a great career for young ladies! Merry Christmas! I’ll be skiing with my kids⛷️
Thanks for interviewing and featuring Captain Krista. Whenever I'm on an aircraft and I see or hear a female pilot in charge, I feel extra safe, knowing she had some odds to overcome to become one of the growing 4%. That is a shockingly low number.
Thank you for sharing a really great trip. That was really nice to see Captain Krista!! Yes, it is always nice to see pilots who happen to be great women. From my former airline, I few with a couple of Captains and First Officers from our 767 & 757s aircraft line. Well, please take care and Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to you as well. 🎅 🥂 😊
Merry Christmas Pilot Pete! Another great Sunday vlog - loved the interview and interaction with Krista- she has the work/life balance schedule all figured out. Quite an achievement.
Thanks for another great video. ICT- I got my private and commercial tickets there. Instrument and multi-engine in Kansas as well. Hoping you have a very merry and blessed Christmas hopefully with SJ and/or family.
Keep up the great content! Do you think we could see a little bit more of the views while you're on cruise? I'd love to see your view on the cockpit 30k+ ft in the air.
Merry Christmas! I’ve seen the tether get taught while loading a 757 on the ramp I used to work at. Tense moments for sure. Question about flying legs. Does the Captain often ask or is it assumed he will fly it unless they ask?
I think calculating density altitude is critical and crucial to any pilot, from Cessna to jumbo jet. I grew up watching Star Trek, gotta factor everything in.
Interesting seeing the empty plane, love how you explain everything, so interesting 👍Merry Christmas to you, your sweetheart and your family, hope your Dad is doing well🙏🎅🎄🎁🎄🎅
I also wanna be a female pilot like the amazing Captain Krista and for example Dutch Pilot Girl (from The Neatherlands/Holland) since I'm a great navigator. I've competed in orienteering and night orienteering for about 17 years since I was 4 years old so I can read maps extremely well. I don't know for sure if I can become a pilot cause I have never flown a plane before, but I would at least like to try it one day! I need glasses or contact lenses but I don't think that's a problem cuz my eyes feel pretty good and the correction needed in my glasses is not that high (dioptries or what you call it, dioptrier in Swedish). Am I right Pilot Pete? I think it's only fighter pilots who are not allowed to wear glasses so because of my glasses I can't unfortunately become a fighter pilot. Is that true? Is a fighter pilot allowed to wear contact lenses or not? I took a job test and it said that the most suitable job for me is to work either within commercial space flight as a pilot or as an astronaut at the international Space Station! So the 1 million dollar question is where should I work? Any great ideas? Go for a test flight to try how it feels and goes could be a great option as you once mentioned in one of your vlogs. Are there any great flight schools and instructors in or near Stockholm in Sweden where I currently live? I have to Google it and do some more research! Anyways, Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year 2025! Greetings from a snowy Stockholm in Sweden. Cat says hello or Mjau! should I say! Haha PS. Your vlogs are made with super great quality and are really informative for anyone thinking about maybe becoming a pilot one day! I've also recommended watching and listening to your vlogs for my friends, family members and relatives who also are thinking about working as pilots or in an aviation related field. And people's kids who need to train English to get great grades in school can listen to you speaking English cause you articulate all the words very clearly so it's easy for kids learning English to understand what you are talking about in your vlogs. And that's a great idea I think for their education and their grades in school! I've studied 10 languages so far and I understand some mjauiiii = some type of cat language!! LOL 😺😹😻😅🎅☃🎉🎄
@pilotpetefly Cool! Thanks for your answer. It has to feel very cool to be working as a pilot for a living! Congrats on a great career choice! I hope I also maybe could become a pilot one day. It's more of a dream, but maybe maybe I could become a pilot. Either in the U.K. or in Canada. Now I'm just googling info about the profession itself and also other aviation related careers. A few months ago I was at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and went to a career event. It was fun to talk with recruiters from many different companies that are located at the airport. Me and my sergeant boyfriend had some burgers at McDonald's at the airport cause the view is stunning from the restaurants watching all the airplanes take off and land with precision. Lots of 10 out of 10 landings. Looked really smooth technically! It was awesome just to watch those beautiful planes! Those anti-icing machines drove around and de-iced the planes. I have to admit that I got some tears in my eyes from just watching those planes. "Let's go! Take off!" It's so fascinating that humans are actually capable of flying! Anyway, on my way home in a cab to Björkhagen to celebrate Christmas with my Mum and my cat this year! Merry Christmas from Stockholm and happy landings Pilot Pete Fly! PS. Have you ever landed at Stockholm Arlanda Airport? It seems a lot smaller compared to JFK, Newark and La Guardia with less traffic. Which is the most challenging or busiest airport in the world? I think maybe Atlanta, Denver or some airport high on a mountain with a really short runway! Madeira landings are for Captains only according to the Finnish pilot Tapio Siivola' s vlog "Tapio on the move". The focus you pilots have is extraordinary! I always clap my hands to the pilots after every landing! It's gotta be fun when the passengers do it and you nail a 10 out of 10 landing. Must be a real feeling of accomplishment when landing perfectly with all the precious cargo like horses for example. Anyway, time to grab a bite to eat now!
Welcome to Denver even if its a short layover! Great weather the last few days, but last week heavy winds at DIA made for tricky flying and landings I bet. DIA is one of the top 5 busiest airports in the world and out in the middle of nowhere as well too.
How many years did you have to fly for FedEx doing the overnight routes? It seems you mostly fly the early morning and late afternoon trips. Much respect to Captain Krista for seeing a career she wanted and doing what it took to get there. Merry Christmas Pete.
Merry Christmas pilot Pete and all the best for 2025. Hope you enjoy your holidays with family and friends. Also hope your dad is recovering nicely and holiday blessings to your family and girlfriend ❤️ 💕. God bless you all and keep safe. It was also great seeing 👀 a female pilot holiday greetings to her as well
Working about 10 days a month at 250 an hour for a captain at a regional…do the math…having a family, being a pilot..you bid or sign up for the flights you want to fly, is very doable and dare I say a great lifestyle….Hope you and your family have a Very Merry Christmas 🎁 Pete. 🛫 …oh and keep on the look out for UAPs, take a video and send it to Ryan Graves at his Americans for Safe Aerospace. Pilots can report their sightings… anonymously if they choose…its all about Safe air space.
Hey Pete. I feel like 4% is higher than what the actual number is. Real quick, of all the Captains who fly the 767, how many are women? Whatever that number is you’d want to divide it by the total number of 767 captains then multiple it by 100. And that would be the real percentage of how often you fly with females in your industry. I’d be really excited to know what that number is.
Love the videos, I am also interested in becoming an airline pilot, but because I am not a US-Citizen I need someone who is a US-Citizen as a cosigner for the tuition deferral or a loan. This will be hard because I don't know anyone from the US. This will be difficult but nothing will stop me from making my dream a reality. PLEASE GIVE ME ADVISE on how to make my dream a reality!!!
merry christmas & greetings from IND. i should be launching my channel soon, just have to get through this month first. if you would like me to be a part of your growing aviation community, particularly for a ramp perspective, then let me know. i would be happy to help.

Thank you for this great POV as a Airline cargo Pilot love it keep it up!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hauling freight has to be as a pilot one of the busiest job to do in the skies throughout the holiday seasons. Be safe out there! Happy holidays!
It’s crazy busy but I love it!
Thank you, Pete! I've wondered what the "pogo stick" or TAIL STAND was for on an aircraft's tail.

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! I’ve seen the tether get taught while loading a 757 on the ramp I used to work at. Tense moments for sure. Question about flying legs. Does the Captain often ask or is it assumed he will fly it unless they ask?
Usually CA takes the first leg. Some ask tho
Another good video. Happy Holidays..

Merry Christmas to you too!
Have you seen any of these drones/ orbs around the ewr area? Couple pilots have told me they seen some around. lol
I personally have not
Thanks Captain Krista
Do you ever cancel the flight when there is weather like lightning or very hard rain and winds
cancel almost never. We will delay for weather if its not safe tho
@ wow ok

Thank you very much!
Have you ever flown to Dulles international airport before yes or no because I live very close to Dulles international airport

I am your colleague because I am a pilot and believe being a pilot is not the best in life.
Pretty rough for FedEx pilots. I heard your line guarantee is getting reduced to 54 and potential furlough. Good luck to you.
