I have a bit of a soft spot for the "forever .500" Jays. The uniforms were terrible, the team was mediocre, but they always seemed to make the games entertaining. I feel spoiled by the 2015 onward Jays. I was so disappointed by 2023, and I think I know why, my expectations finally adjusted, to then be let down.
@@hasibchowdhury1742due respect to Royals but that home plate ump in the last game was abysmal. Jays had a chance to rally but he took the bat out of Revere’s hands.
And Pat Tabler practically saying 'I think he just won the MVP' after that walkoff HR in their regular season home finale that season. We knew it then too.
Donaldson was like the 'heart & soul' of that Blue Jays team in 2015. Clutch HRs, incredible defensive plays, night after night, especially late in the year when the Jays were rocketing up towards winning the AL East division crown that year, we were literally tuned in every night just waiting to see what Donaldson was going to do. And every night he didn't disappoint. That Blue Jays team brought the franchise - and the fanbase, myself included - back to life after years of dullness and disappointment. They literally gave us a chance to believe they could win a championship that season. They kept battling - right up until the final out of the ALCS vs the Royals. They left us literally wanting more.
2015 and 2016 it was all about Josh Edwin and Jose. Josh was a force and was such a steal when we traded for him. I wish current management would care like AA did that year and went all in.
AA had one foot out the door, and knew he wouldn't have to deal with the after effects of various moves, contracts, and purging the farm. There was a lot of clean up work to be done after his departure.
I was lucky enough to watch alot of games st the dome in those years. The middle of that lineup was one of the most potent in Blue Jays history. Joeybats, double E, and the bringer of rain then adding Tulo. You knew if the pitching staff kept it close there was aways a chance to pull off a comeback. Thank you bringer of rain from blue jays fans from across Canada.
I certainly remember the day that the Jays acquired JD from the Athletics, I was in total disbelief and walking on a cloud all day. He did not disappoint those first two seasons. A shame how he was injured and at odds with the medical/training staff, leading to his departure. (where is Julian Merryweather these days, anyway?) When he came to Toronto with the Twins in 2021, he got such the ovation that it shook the building. I hope the Jays invite him to a game this season so the 2015 AL MVP can get his flowers from Blue Jays fans one more time. Maybe not "Level of Excellence", but Josh deserves one more last hurrah. GJG
Wish we could have had some of this offense during his tenure with the Yankees. Still a great player with a great career, cant blame him for trying to continue to play the game he loves.
The 2015 team was legitimately so close to winning a World Series( The Royals were the better team although the Jays made it real interesting at the end ). The 2016 team wasn't quite as good. Not terrible, just, not as good at the plate in the end.
@@chrisquarrie Lol the statement was made to a player who wasnt even his teammate. And if you think that its "racist", then you're much more a problem with society than you think this comment is.
He called him Jackie because the same player laughably proclaimed himself "The new Jackie Robinson" before. JD was just making fun of the ridiculous comparison. When supply of racism is so low that you have to manufacture a non-story into a racist one. Sad.
Going to miss this guy a lot. 2015 and 2016 were such great years, especially after the decades of disappointment from the Jays beforehand.
Ya they had a chance in 2015 for sure, too bad they lost to the Royals that year in the ALCS (who turned out to be the champs).

Buck Martinez calls of “Home Run Josh Donaldson” will forever be imprinted in my mind

Jays management is an absolute joke, scared to spend... and keeping Schneider as manager is ridiculous hes terrible
@@emupike6the last few seasons have been the biggest payroll the Jays have ever had

The bringer of rain
love how the dome progressively becomes fuller as the year goes on.
2:43....yep, that's none other than Sam Dyson giving up a HR vs Donaldson.
We would hear from Dyson again later that season as it turned out. 😏
This is the video we needed

Notice the quality of the uniforms is BETTER than those for the 2024 season
Thank You Josh Donaldson I Wish You The Best
Will never forget the first year I truly got into watching sports, what a time to be a jays fan

This guy was great. Gonna miss him. Enjoy retirement Josh ❤️
Blue Jays Donaldson was truly different
Those seasons where Donaldson was at his best, there almost wasn't anyone better.
should've won either 2015-2016 ALCS (more 2015), but JD was indeed meant to be a Jays player in that era

Shoutout to Reyes at 7 minutes completely missing everyone with the water shower, love the sentiment but that execution is hilarious!
My fave jays of all time. His defense was equal to his Batting % stellar player in his prime.
Miss you bud.
He full takes down a kid with his legs during the dive into the stands @3:45 -- kid if you're watching let us know how you're doing
Lol Donaldson taking Sam Dyson deep during the regular season. No wonder he got so mad later that year
"...Right you are..."
It was a beautiful load
Bring me back 😢
I needed this
MVP Josh was a beast!
If only he could’ve played somewhat like this w/ the yanks
Only remember when he’s in Yankees I often read comments on him as “Peckerhood energy”. He likes to taunt rival players due to trivial things
Didn’t know Robertson was on the white sox
3:52 scary eh
真好看😂
Who is the guy ????????
Rangers owner
The angriest baseball player, and former AL MVP
He was so bad as a Yankee
He had some cool moments
Was this before or after he called his black teammates “Jackie”?
Ya might want to fact check this statement. And then delete it for being completely irrelevant
Can’t deny he is a stud
@@NothingToPointOut24right, checked it. His time with the Jays was before he made the statement. But he’s probably always been a racist so 🤷🏻♂️
