A house straight out of an Enid Blyton book with hidden stairways, secret rooms and underground tunnels. What started a plain dwelling house for a Scotsman, his wife and daughter in 1910 became a incomplete mansion in 1915 on the birth of a son. In 1918 the indentured labour from Madras Presidency were struck by the Spanish Flu was the first tragedy. William smith died of pneumonia in 1926, this was the devastating blow to the wife who returned to Scotland with her children. The construction came to an end and Kellie's Castle/Folly was claimed by the jungle. In the end, Kella's house was sold to the British plantation company Harrisons and Crossfield.
