This video is a TOTAL tribute to the culture in LA but specifically Compton. Everything Kendrick does in this video represents the city and its culture. I'm an OG from Compton, and I remember when we were all outside and hyped over NWA. In case most didn't know, the video's thumbnail is a shot of the Compton courthouse right in the heart of Compton. Also, the house that he and Whitney are in is Kendrick's grandmother's house, which he keeps up. The other important thing to note is the red and blue coming together. THAT IS HUGE!!!! And Tommy the Clown is most def a LA legend!!! Shout out to him and those amazing dancers. I'm so proud to see this moment and everyone outside! Stay up, everyone!!! Love y'all!
In one of Kendricks earlier diss songs for Drake called 'ELEMENT' from the DAMN album Kendrick said: "I be hanging out at Tams, I be on Stockton, I don't do it for the Gram, I do it for COMPTON'
Yes it is!!!! I'm from the CPT and used to go there every week. Once I had kids...they went too! I definitely miss Tams! The other joint was Louis Burgers.
The chili cheese fries are the best hang over cure I ever had! When I moved to Hollywood, I still stopped by there on my way home sometimes. A must stop every time I visit family and homies in Compton.
The step this way comes from Rkelley when he said step in the name of love and the hey hey hey is from bill Cosby originally voicing fat Albert , one of his phrases was “hey hey hey I’m fat Albert” so that’s another play on words to emphasize the PDF file allegations 😂 this song has too many subliminals
Aye frfr. Yal prolly one of my favorite reaction channels. Your pops growth from when he first started has been dope to watch!!! Perfect example of father and son relationship we should all strive for!!! All the way from COMPTON!!! Much love!!!
I think the " step this way step this way " part is for the song and video Drake did during Covid in his house. I know people think it's about R.Kelly and it might be or it could be both.
Really good reaction video - thank you. Drake probably has some PI's out there, trying to dig info up on Kendrick. Drake doesn't write his own stuff. So, as a rapper, I can't take him seriously, and he isn't on my hop hop wall of fame. Kendrick is a poet, a wonder with words, and writes his own lyrics. Maybe Drake should've asked Kendrick to write his stuff before he got too big for his boots.
Hey I wondering if guys can review/react to a Korean rapper’ new album titled Right Place Wrong Person. It’s new-soul meets jazz rap with some psychedelic rock influences, it’s really interesting
I'm born and raised in LA, I'm still here, and I like some of Drake's records for sure, but Drake definitely took a huge dent in his image and career after this. It's over in a lot of ways unless Wayne comes back with a Motto type record that becomes the next Summer song or something but Drake has been uneven and lacking, at best, for a while now, unless he's leeching off scorching artists like Durk. Drake is never coming back from this and he only has himself to blame. That whole "drop drop drop drop drop" taunt and mocking our legends with the AI Pac and Snoop, give me a break, Drake got what he asked and rapped about how Black folks in America are "slaves" when he grew up upper-class in Canada.
@citypopradioFM I think people forget how Drake made a slave reference last year on "Slime you out" it faced some controversy and had Sza looking crazy for being on the record with him, but it got swept under the rug. This is why Kendrick said he doubled down. Drake also mentioned how he was allowed to come to America and takeover, basically he doesn't respect the very reason he even has a career as big as it is, Toronto wasn't going to take him anywhere.
Stop it. Tommy the Clown is a longtime LA legend here. He's been a professional clown in Compton but more importantly getting kids of all ages off the streets to get on hip-hop dancing after school instead and he's been doing a huge good in the community since the 90's. Kendrick honored Tommy the Clown at the Pop Out concert and making him a key part, with his dance students, in this video for a reason since this is all about uniting the city and people who know if they know. Don't say something disrespectful and made-up like Cedric is Tommy, stop it man.

Hey hey hey it’s a Fat Albert reference by Bill Cosby for his sexual assault and Step this way is a R. Kelly reference for his role in his child case

Step this way was in reference to R. Kelly's "Step In The Name Of Love".
Tams is a famous burger spot in Compton
