i throw the float better with my left hand, it feels very strange when it comes to my right hand (my right hand), do you think I throw with my left anyway?
I think you should work on your weak hand floater, but not focus on it. When I train, I train for what they will actually use in a game. So if I do do weak hand it will be a part of a floater drill and the makes on the weak side would be half of what the makes on the dominant side would be. So if you gotta make 10 with your dominant you only have to make 5 with your weak hand. Part of the problem also is functionality and application.
Nobody in the comments is calling out this if youre playing at a high level defenses will absolutely target your lack of a weak hand finish and fading is useful on floaters curry does them like that sometimes
Most NBA players only float with their dominant hand. Floaters are a lot like jump shots. You dont really work on your off hand jumper. Floaters require space to do, like jumpers, they don't create space so you should be able to go to your dominant hand 90% of the time. The only NBA player that constantly floats with either hand is Kyrie. And Steph fades on like 1% of his floaters as most are under hand finger rolls or over hand tosses. It's better to train your dominant hand floats and the footwork required to buy the space to do them.
Tony Parker's tear drop
