    Enjoyed your polymer clay samples & love those highly textured ones with that glorious resin sheen. Thank you for sharing with all of us online. Thumbs up!

    I think Mica Shift is my favourite technique! It's nice to have some alternate ways to achieve that lovely smooth finish thanks Val.
    I hope you weren't too badly affected by the big wind! XxxX

    Mica shift is one of my favorite techniques. I do shave the top, but will now try sanding on textures that aren't very deep. Looking forward to more texture sheets from moikos. I really enjoy your videos!

    Just simply adore the leopard print I need these! Will be ordering this. So happy to see you again. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and talent. God bless and give scratches to the furbabies. Extra for Reggie.

      Will do Ramona ❤️. They are nice quality texture tiles. Filming during storm Eunice was a bit distracting... I forgot to mention people should cut their shapes out before baking. Hopefully that's obvious anyway 🤔. God bless you and your family. xx

    Love the samples ... and the explanations. And for reminding me about using mica powders so guess its time to hunt mine out. I love the resin finishes, leopard print would be my choice.

    Such an interesting technique! The illusion of texture is quite striking. Did you use a sanding tool? Hurricane force winds are horrid-hope you survived the high winds!

      We came out relatively unscathed thanks! Yes, I used my polysander a bit but also did some by hand. ❤️

    Now, please show us your making a pirate's hook for the little dollhouse boy. I think he would love it because of his dollhouse room theme and because he fought the Venus Flytrap. :) You could even use that metal polymer clay, which is something that I have only read about it books and wonder if it is any good.

    Interesting to see you can do mica shift without shaving... but, of course, then you have to sand. Mmm, I think I'd rather shave off thin slices, but your technique has given you some spectacular results. Did you sand by hand or are you using a tool to do it? I've only got sandpaper and elbow grease, and that puts me off your technique a bit.

    • @UnrulyHousewife
      @UnrulyHousewife  2 роки тому +1

      I used the tool I won and did a bit by hand. Shaving is good but I tend to shake lol. We all find our own preferences ❤️

    i was told by alot of crafters to use triple thick to finish my craft pieces. well they all turned out stick. i let then dry and everything. what is the best finish/glaze you use to put on your projects when you are done? you mentioned resin but what kind and how do you use the resin? and i enjoy you videos soooooooooo much.

    • @UnrulyHousewife
      @UnrulyHousewife  2 роки тому +1

      Ugh, nightmare with things staying sticky! The resin I use is some cheap Chinese UV resin, from Amazon. I have a nail light and put things under that to cure, plus I leave them on the windowsill to get actual sunlight for a while. Some UV resins require a wipe with alcohol to remove stickiness. I always recommend making simple samples before jumping in and potentially ruining carefully made things. If you watch from near the end of the video again you'll see that I show a couple of varnishes to the camera - Pearl Ex varnish and DuraClear Gloss Varnish.
