Zubaida Rahman is a Bangladeshi physician, and the wife of politician Tarique Rahman. Zubaida born on 18 May 1972 in Sylhet, is the daughter of Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan, Chief of the Naval Staff of Bangladesh during the regime of Ziaur Rahman. He served as the Minister of Communications and Agriculture in the government of Hussain Muhammad Ershad.
General M. A. G. Osmani is the uncle of Zobaida Rahman, the commander-in-chief of Bangladesh's war of independence. She is the cousin of Amnesty International's former Secretary General Irene Khan.
Zobaida got married to Tarek in 1995, two years before joining the BCS health cadre. After Tarek's release from prison in 2008, she took a study leave and went to London to treat Tarek. Currently staying there.
Zobaida studied medicine from Imperial College London and completed her MSc with record marks and gold medal. She joined the Republic service as a doctor in 1995 after topping the Doctors Civil Service (BCS) examination. Zobaidar got married to Tarek two years ago.
Zia family members and two top leaders of BNP were convicted in the corruption case, although Zobaida Rahman's leadership of the party was publicized, but she never participated in the National Assembly elections or was seen in direct politics.[4][3] In 2016, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed commendation for Zubaida Rahman, endorsing her potential as a promising political figure.

ডা. জোবাইদা রহমান। ১৯৭২ সালের ১৮ই জুন সিলেটের সম্ভ্রান্ত মুসলিম পরিবার জন্মগ্রহণ করেন । তার বাবা রিয়ার অ্যাডমিরাল মাহবুব আলী বাংলাদেশের ৩য় নৌবাহিনীর প্রধান ছিলেন। ১৯৭৯ সাল থেকে ১৯৮৪ সাল পর্যন্ত তিনি দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। একই সঙ্গে তিনি বিভিন্ন মন্ত্রণালয় পরিচালনা করেছেন। হুসেইন মুহম্মদ এরশাদের সরকারের তিনি যোগাযোগ ও কৃষিমন্ত্রীর দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন।
তার মাতা সৈয়দা ইকবাল মান্দ বানু বাংলাদেশের একজন প্রখ্যাত সমাজ সংস্কারক ছিলেন। জাতীয় জীবনে অনন্য সাধারণ অবদানের জন্য ১৯৯৫ সালে তাকে ‘সমাজসেবায় স্বাধীনতা পুরস্কার’ প্রদান করা হয়েছিল।
অ্যামনেস্টি ইন্টারন্যাশনালের সাবেক সেক্রেটারি জেনারেল আইরিন খানের চাচাতো বোন জোবাইদা চিকিৎসকদের সিভিল সার্ভিস পরীক্ষায় প্রথম হন।
১৯৯৫ সালে বিসিএস স্বাস্থ্য ক্যাডারে যোগ দেওয়ার দুই বছর আগে তারেকের সাথে জোবাইদার বিয়ে হয়। ২০০৮ সালে তারেকের জেলমুক্তির পর শিক্ষাছুটি নিয়ে তারেকের চিকিৎসার জন্য তিনি লন্ডন যান। বর্তমানে সেখানেই অবস্থান করছেন।
কর্মজীবন
জোবাইদা ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ থেকে হৃদরোগ বিষয়ে এমবিবিএস ডিগ্রী অর্জন করেন।[৫] পরে লন্ডনের ইম্পেরিয়াল ইউনিভার্সিটি অব মেডিসিন থেকে রেকর্ড নম্বর ও স্বর্ণপদক নিয়ে এমএসসি করেছেন।
তিনি চিকিৎসকদের সিভিল সার্ভিস (বিসিএস)পরীক্ষায় প্রথম হয়ে ১৯৯৫ সালে চিকিৎসক হিসেবে প্রজাতন্ত্রের চাকুরীতে যোগ দেন। এর দুই বছর আগে তারেকের সঙ্গে বিয়ে হয় জোবাইদার।[৪]
বিএনপির নেতাকর্মীদের সামনে একটি নাম বারবার উচ্চারিত হচ্ছে। সেটি হচ্ছে ডা. জোবাইদা রহমান।
