NGL one of the details that make this section way more unsettling is how all of the cutscenes focusing on the "fake" characters have tilted camera angles like at 9:01 because it gives you that feeling that something is super off even though nothing looks weird and I absolutely adore how it's pulled off so perfectly
(17:16) It seems like this villain wants to turn the Mario World into it's own scripted utopia, where everyone plays there own role in his puppet strings. That's so terrifying & I thought Partners In Time was scary, but Brothership takes the cake.
It's more terrifying when you realize that Paper Jam get zero mentions compared to the other 4, and Paper Jam it's just like what you described, a scripted and tamed adventure, it really makes you wonder, was Paper Jam just an in universe nightmare like this one?
@@J_Alanrk2178 Yeah, I even theorized that after the events of Super Paper Mario the Paper Mario timeline suddenly becomes a separate dimension (Inside a book with an inner universe, rather than retelling events of Mario past RPG adventures in the mainline timeline), which would explain all the Paper stuff being taken literally in the modern games. The characters still DO have their past memories from the classic Paper Mario games, as Peach is shown to have pictures of herself in a Paper Mario games in The Origami King, but it feels odd. I know you might say Mario turning into a Paper plane is being literally paper, but I had a feeling that cursed chest that cursed Mario had found a way to curse the entire Paper Mario world, making everything literally paper. I mean you COULD say that the Paper Mario series is cursed, since the series was debatably worse than what Mario was left with before, but the Mario Universe is really up to YOUR interpretation considering how limitless the universe of Mario really is. I might try to explain the timeline to the Mario RPGs if you are really interested.

i love how luigi takes big steps and mario takes shorter steps LOVE IT
28:20 if you listen very carefully, you can hear a feint tint of the Castle theme from Super Mario 64
Mario and Luigi have entered darkness. Just like Timmy turner. Hadn’t they noticed the twitching glitching?
I like how the music is a remix of the World 1 map from SMB3
This had to be one of the most creepiest moments in the Mario and Luigi franchise.
