It's been a while since I'd done a Pokemon cover but it sure was fun to return to this franchise once again! There's so many great vgm soundtracks out there that it's hard to stay in touch with all of them. Luckily I had Solitude suggest this theme to me and I immediately had the inspiration to make a cover out of it!
This theme is really energetic and imo the best battle theme of all Pokemon games. It wasn't very hard for me to preserve that energy in my cover because the source material was already awesome to begin with. It almost felt like cheating. However, I put in some pretty dark heavy breakdowns to offset the happy vibes and put some emphasis on the 'serious' part of being in a battle.
Also, I'm bringin' back the faces because why the hell not?! I've been so focussed on upping the quality of my shots and angles that I forgot to show what a weirdo I actually am.

@@melynxdrome4154ahah true. well, the platform has changed a lot and so did my mindset. a lot of comments never came through before the 'community' tab and my life took some pretty rough turns in the meantime. had me stay in 'survivor mode' for a while. it's a combination of practical things as well as a growing desire to make content and give back to the community again.

You really had fun with this one! Gen 3's soundtrack is super solid! I'd also suggest looking into the other battle themes, namely the gym leader. As much as I'm in love with Gen 2, Gen 3's got the better gym leader theme by a long shot. There's some really sweet stuff in there. Awesome cover, man!
Sure did! Haven't played any of the Gen 3 games but since I'm returning to Pokemon after such a long time I'm really excited to check out more of what the soundtrack has to offer. I'll give the full soundtrack a listen then. Thanks man!
