Have you ever had electrical issues on your heli from flying in the rain? I think I would be too scared to try it myself

      Not so far 🤪
Light rain and sprinkling I think is just fine, never had a problem. I wouldn't do it in heavy rain, more because of my radio than anything in the heli.

the only thing you need to do is water proof the plugs and esc. Servo and motor are water proof

Hi - is it possible to ask you a question re: scorpion 06-80/yge 65 via email?
    I don’t have facebook, thx

Keith, I’m sorry but I’m not seeing an email link. Anyway, I’ll just ask you here if you don’t mind. I had my raw 420dd set up with an hw60a. It had a strange “tail tick”
almost like the whole heli would oscillate on the yaw axis like a shimmy. A friend with a lot more experience than I have was certain that it was being caused by the esc. So a month ago
I switched it out for a scorpion 06-80 and presto, perfect tail.
Ok so then I get the idea that on my Align 470lm I’ll switch out the
stock align esc (because it’s not the smoothest thing ever) for
the hw60a I took out of my raw 420. Certainly the head speed seems much more consistent & smoother overall but now
this heli has that odd little “tail tick” shimmy thing. So I go to order a scorpion 60 (don’t make one) or 06-80 only to find it’s been discontinued. So I ordered a yge 65; should be here in a day or two.
I’m hoping the yge will solve the ticking issue as the scorpion did with the raw 420. I know you were having issues with your 06-80 so maybe the yge is the better option anyway. Any thoughts as to what it is about the esc that would cause this problem with the tail on two different helis?

@@michaelpowers3106 HobbyWings have always had a tendency to have tail kicks for some reason in my experience. I don't use them anymore for that reason among others. YGE are very pricey but good in my experience. Scorpion has a replacement for the 06-80A coming soon, in the Tribunue III line, that you may look into.

Thx so much for the reply and info. Interestingly the friend who thought it was the hw esc; he won’t use them either. I do, however, have several other models with hw esc’s (120a and larger) that seem just fine, at least to me for now, although
I did have an hw80a in the raw 420 for a bit; it also had the tail ticking, that’s why I moved on to the Scorpion.
I’m very much looking forward to trying the yge in the Align 470 which is a fun heli to fly.
Is scorpion also going to come out with a new 60a?
Thx again and btw I very much enjoy your videos, they’re really well done.

      @@michaelpowers3106 I have no idea if they'll make a 60, I just know they said they'll have a replacement for the 80 soonish :)
