- Many have been asking for this update so here you go!!
I'm really happy with the way it turned out, as you know I went back with the original colour for this car, a dark blue, which contrasts nicely with the new grey 16-inch wheels.
Speaking of which, the car runs SO much better with the 16s, instead of the earlier 18s, no more tramlining, no more earth-shattering jarring over the slightest bump, and most importantly no more speedometer error. Still drives like a dream after so many years, love it!

@@KCHRider yes! I was lucky with this one cos it was a very very small used car & lorry dealer out in the middle of nowhere in a Banting industrial area almost 50km away, one way. Went to view and drive it twice (that's 200km right there) and knew that if I didn't buy it, I'd regret it. I'm really glad I did 🙏🏽😊👍🏾
Be sure the best hardest clear coat is used. Because that’s the one that really protects. I had my paint job done in 2010. And today it still has the wet look because I bought the paint and clear coat myself to ask the painter to use. The car has never been polished since.

Nice car,nice review,the M50 engine on my E36 is very smooth and durable,plus it has never been taken apart in it's nearly 30 year lifespan.

Yes I do! I was actually close to buying one not too long ago, before I got the E30, haha! They're pretty robust cars if properly maintained, old skool at its finest 😀

Ooops...just saw yer xplanation on der rader. But 16"s...aiyah..comfortable betul lah tapi style kureng sikit. Funny thing about the e36 is it looks good on the original 15"s OR 17"s. 16" tak kena. Thought the ones the car came with are 17"s but 18"s no go for an e36 bcuz even the M3s run 17"s je pun. Can't cash the cheques in corners having too much rubber!
That's your opinion and you're very entitled to it, this is my car and I think it looks FINE on 16s bud, in fact the ride & handling now is SO much better 😊🙏🏽

Hey Chris, viewer here from Australia. Love the progress on the e36. Did you check on the airbag if it's a Takata included in the global recall? BMW in Australia is offering to buy back all remaining e36 due to the high risk levels.
Greetings!! Wow, really? Yup, actually I did, the previous owner disconnected it!! Not sure if it's because of the recall or he just didn't want the bag inadvertently deploying unintentionally, haha!!🤭

@@ChrisWeevilGarage Hey Chris, not too sure on the price, it won't be worth much as older cars don't retain much value here. Audi recently joined the same strategy with buying back older A4, A6, A8, TT. They figured it's actually cheaper to pay a few K per car to buy them back than to engineer a solution and new airbags for 20+ year old cars. In your e36, if the airbag is disconnected you should be alright. Can probably get a resistor installed so you don't get an incessant airbag warning light on the instrument cluster.

the glovebox, from wad it looks its the hinges and the legroom catch might be installed wrongly thus it drops down but might be wrong
Nah, that misalignment happened after the catch broke, it was fine before that 🤦🏽♂️

Thanks!! Hmm, good question. I haven't done any testing on this yet, but I don't think it'll be that bad, it's only a 1.8L 4cyl. The manual gbox will also help the FC I reckon 🙏🏽🤞🏾😊

Is there any discount on road tax on these cars after certain years?
25yrs and older, but it's not automatic, u have to apply for it, and not all cars are eligible either. It has to be a certified classic, in 100% original condition, and u have to have 2 other cars in ur name paying full road tax. It's quite a troublesome process, but it's worth it for large capacity older cars, cos u only pay 20% of the actual road tax 😊
