Appeared from the video that the braided water lines were twisted a little. that could possibly reduce the water pressure to the faucet. I would not bury the fire extinguisher in the back of the cabinet. Might not use it often but when you need it you need it now.
Definitely take the trap out and clean it out. Be prepared for unimageable nasties in the trap elbow, it's most likely 3/4 full of grease, soap scum and other yuckie stuff.
To clean trap in sink is easy. Put baking soda in drain then pour some vinegar in and cover trap with rag for awhile. Then redo again then rinse!. Should clean trap of smells 👍
flush some lemon water every once in a while - like biweekly should take of the smell, or vinegar 50% strength. just a cup is all you need this keeps the fungal growth down. this is caused by water that can sometimes remain in the pipes or is funky from your source. Happy glamping .
We had a similar smell issue in our bathroom vanity. It was the Inline Vent. It is a black plastic device that screws onto the upright piece of the drain pipe. Can be purchased at a Home Depot. Good Luck!
My husband’s mod for our brand new camper last year was a sound system inside and outside including a subwoofer. Mind you he is a sound engineer for music but it also took him a few weekends to get it “dialed in”. We are the party spot for the camp ground.
Nice faucet! No need to take apart the drain pipes. Dump 2 - 3 ounces of Simple Green down your drains then run hot water down the sinks (and shower) for about a minute. Then each time you break camp, dump 2 ounces down each drain and leave it. That will not only rid you of foul-smelling drains it will also break down any gunk or grease/oils down there and it will help clean your grey tank(s) as well. I have been doing this in all of our RV's for the past 25 years and we have never had any foul odors or issues with our grey tanks. Enjoy the new faucet and safe travels.
Hi guy good job on faucet.what you should check for smell is where you said there was a vent .that vent cap comes off easy and replace it's a trap for smells sits right on top of vent pipe it's cheap there's videos on you tube to show you no need to take apart pipes.you can also use your black tank cleaner on grey tank if it smells under the sink probably that vent cap.thanks for all the great content
Thank you for doing this video. We have been looking for a replacement faucet and had a heck of a time finding something that was gonna work. Saw your video and bought one. Just installed it (so easy) and love it!!!!
I’d take the pipes off and clean the out. In our sticks and bricks the pipes get to stinking and hubby removes them once in a while and we clean them out.
The P-trap will hold water in it. Its function is to block the smells coming up from your gray tank. You should have a vertical black pipe with an anti-siphon valve at the top of it. This allows air in to prevent a siphoning effect which sucks the water out of the p-trap when you run your faucet. When this valve goes bad water will siphon out of your p-trap and gray tank smells will come up through the sink pipes.
Something to check if the smell returns. We had a similar experience with a foul odor . Checked all drains and such and found that a Studor vent under our sink had failed and was allowing grey tank odors to release into area. Replace the vent and took care of the issue. Love your channel!
Next time put paper towels under your new connections- it will let you know if you have ANY leakage, even just a drop! And I would mount the fire extinguisher to the inside of the door, you want super quick access to it!
We had a smell coming out of the sink drains in our rv, and I found grey tank cleaner to be what was needed. You can get it at any rv store, and it worked well for our rv.
I have a ton of projects. I replaced the faucet in my last rv which was a total nightmare. The hoses that were installed in the rv were different sizes than the faucet I purchased. O you would think I learned my lesson. But nooooo I am doing this upgrade again in my new rv. I have had my induction cook top for a while but I wasn’t sure how to get it installed and the idea for the dishes below it was a great idea. I am going to be doing a similar set up. But I’m going to be installing my small dishwasher under my cook top. Along with about 17 other projects I have to complete. Love the videos and love Alaska.
I am thinking that since you removed the protection for the sink supply lines that if you stop hard (I don't think you are going to be doing any tire smoking acceleration) some of the stuff you have stored under the sink could hit the supply lines and make your water detector tell you that you have a leak under the sink. We always turn our water pump off when traveling or leaving our camper for an extended amount of time. Also, you should have your fire extinguisher more accessible, like in front of all of the other stuff under the sink.
Hi guys, i totally have rebuild the inside of our little StarCraft trailer. Ripped out rotten wood and did hardy board on two walls and tongue and grove cedar for the other two. Also did all the outlets (brand new one) in all the spots they had outlets. New screen on the door and new water pump. Now here is the buggy……the corner was rotten so had to take all the rotten wood out the fixed it with rivets. Ratchet strapped it all together for 3 days and ta da!!! And redid the roof! Phew!!! ❤❤❤
We have that faucet in the 5th wheel we live in. Warning: The handle that turns it on and if broke off within 2 months and it won't screw back in again. I hope you don't experience the same thing.
My husband mentioned checking the vent for your grey tank (smell) and maybe trying to treat your grey tank once in a while with the same stuff as black tank. Good luck 😊
Love you guys, run a little water in all the p traps before you drive the coach, that will keep the smell (gas) in the tanks and vent it out the stack. I found that if I forgot to do that, I got the smell.
I'm surprised they didn't recommend plumbers putty between the faucet base and the counter top. That is used to keep any water on the counter top surface from leaking down through the faucet base.
We rebuilt our whole pantry area... Because all the original shelves were falling apart! In my opinion, I would replace the pipes before I would plan to clean them.... Maybe your dead animal was the smell you were smelling.
Suggestion? You've removed that "specialty drawer" that was so exclusive to the elite R.V.-er, 😉 lol. All sarcasm aside, now that you have removed it & you pointed out that you don't want to push anything up against the water lines, I suggest that you glue (less holes) a small rubber bumper to the floor along the same line that the little wall of that shelf/drawer piece of furniture was placed at. Or a small tube of PVC cut in half (it will be sturdier). Or screw it using your trusted caulk on those screw holes. It will act as a stopper for sliding the baskets in too far, too quickly during those times when you're in a hurry & have any other things on your mind. Like when you're packing up.
Just a question, why do you have carpet under your sink. It holds smells and critters love it. We have non skid for shelves under our sink and it keeps everything in place.
It looked like you put things back with the fire extinguisher way in the back. Is that what the red container is? Not a good place for it. Should be out where you can get it quickly.
@@GratefulGlamperthe is there thing I would recommend is to install PEX shut off valves under every sink and the toilet water supply. This way you still have water at other appliances. I loosened and rotated it so the handle is toward the sink. It is better, but, I bump it "off" sometimes when doing dishes. Its better than the constant puddle on the counter.
