I used to school in Eldos and the situation was far worse than he expressed. High-school peers would carry guns to school, drugs were sold at school and you would get mugged inside the school by ex students of the school. Helicopters were a morning alarm to residents living there. You would go into a Park as early as 06:30 and you would find people chilling there packed as if the time is 14:00 in the afternoon. But I was lucky because I could easily befriend even the feared groups of the community, and I was fascinated by the way they speak "the accent" so I always found myself in their surroundings.
Im sure I met this guy in 1999 in a group of flats in Eldos. I still have photos of us drinking beer and brandy. There were about 20 of us that night. All really cool guys.
