I keep getting a Loco Net error saying PR3 using COM5 all the addresses are showing Layout Power State Unknown Click to turn off! Please explain if you can!
Hi. Thank you very much for your videos. They are extraordinary. My query refers to whether using these software, can I use my notebook as a throttle? If so, can you tell me how to configure it? Thank you very much again.
@@TomsTrainsandThings Hi Toms, how are you? Thank you very much for your quick response. Can you tell me what that application is and where can I check it? A hug...!!!
Hi Tom, greetings from Australia. I know it's 5 years since you published this video, but what is the model number of the router? Your explanation of the PR3 was very informative, as was the video of the setup of the DS64. In fact your explanation of the DS64 setup was easier to understand than the Digitrax manual. 😊👍
Thank you very much. I'll be out of town for about two weeks, When I get back I'l check. Still using that same router in my new home for the railroad. Any old router will do though!
Our model railroad club is going to go this route I was wondering how many cell phones can you have connected at any one time or is there a limit. Great video you explanation is straightforward.
Thank you Robert. I don't think there is a limit to the amount of cell phone or tablet throttles one can use. The data transfer associated with this is very small compared to browsing online so even with an old router of 10Mbps you should be good. I haven't seen anything in the documentation that states a max devices either.
there is a limit, it has to do with wifi, and what your router will support. diditrax also has a wifi direct box as well called the LNWI which, if i read read it right 32 max ( found it actually 4 tablets per wifi, 32 functions, but up to 8 can be sued per layout) ), I have seen the MRC ones which said 8 per box, unlimited boxes though. Keep in mind wifi can have a bottleneck of it's own if router happens to be on same channel as another nearby, i use wify analyzer to help with that. Just don't expect to have 50 trains running at once, somewhere bandwidth will be hit
Thanks so much +Toms Trains and Things! So many Video just show the operation of the trains and don't go in-depth like you did! Thanks again!
Your Welcome!
I'm hoping you'll add this to my playlist. :) I look forward to your upcoming videos. -Mark
Most definitely, I'll do that right away. I'll have to make one for Vegas Movie Studio also once I get some material produced.

Do you have JMRI configured with Com 5 for your PR3?
Actually no sir I had to stop somehow I lost two engines but I had to reset them! I left it alone.

JMRI has a built in throttle you can use for computers/laptops. The Apps I describe are only available on Android & IOS
