    Nicely done, I see you have lowered the bridge way lower than the standard rule of thumb of about "eye" level, I can see how that would help with the off hand side of shooting and pivoting from the saddle using the predator. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed week my friend, you just put out the teaser of hunting with the grand father of Saddle hunting, I would be honored to do that, I have read a few of his books, I would bet that is as close as I will ever get to meeting him much less getting to hunt with him.
    Thanks again and have a blessed week.
    Dale

      Thanks dale. Mess around with your bridge/tether height and you can really dial in your comfort.

    I think you just sold me on the predator platform. Nice vid. I’ve been saddle hunting for ten years. It just keeps getting better and better. Thanks for contributing to the sport.

    Thanks for the videos. I love the idea of being able to get everything you need on your web site. I'm new to bow hunting and I'm thinking I'm sold on this style of hunting. Public land.

    Very helpful. I'm new to saddle hunting so I've been digesting as much information as I can about the subject. Your channel has been a big help. Several people have been asking me "how in the world are you going to be able to shoot your bow with those ropes all over you?" Now I'll just send them to this video. They just don't get it.

    Thankyou for showing this with physically drawing a bow back, seems like most videos guys are just showing hand positions. I was curious about how your bridge would get in the way of drawing so this was perfect

    Do you wear knee pads when you hunt or is it just bc you have shorts on in the vid?

    • @G2Outdoors
      @G2Outdoors 4 роки тому

      I always wear knee pads in the tree.

    Man one thing I learned this fall from using my Mantis is the trees I climb are now smaller and I like it. I can get set up in more places being able to use the smaller trees and everything works really well out of the saddle with the smaller diameter trees.

    Good vid buddy! When shooting from 1-4 I like to have my tether a little loose and over my shoulder. It kinda holds you right to the tree.

    • @G2Outdoors
      @G2Outdoors 6 років тому

      Yup. You can do it that way too. I've heard from some guys they don't like spinning around that way, they'd rather face the tree. Either way works though.

    Would this be the same for standing/leaning position which i tend to mostly do? Seems like its harder with the bridge jn the way more when im standing but im very new with my saddle and platform also..only couple sits. But seems like to the right side was toughest for me and i thought i had to tuck the bow under the tether and bridge to pull that off

    Still waiting for mine to arrive. I'm sure your anchor point is going to change. This is unlike shooting from a standing position. May need to go to a kisser button.

      You actually bend at the waist a little more than with a traditional treestand. I haven't noticed a decline in accuracy thus far.

    Hey greg, is it possible to be in the sitting position for long periods of time without discomfort or readjusting in the mantis saddle? I have the kestrel right now. Im getting hip pinch no matter what when sitting in the kestrel. After less than ten minutes im trying to adjust and get comfortable.

    • @G2Outdoors

      Part of that is what I call Saddle Shape. It takes awhile to get used to the different geometry in a saddle system.

    How bad does a camera arm get in the way? At what height about do you strap the arm?

      They don't get in the way at all. I strap mine on the right hands side at about thigh height.

    The Tethard Platform idea is good.....its just deer movement are unpredictable and can come to your right side for a right handed person and there would be a lot of movements to pivot on the platform......I will stick to treestand hunting, I can shoot almost 360
