I spent a few summers and a couple of long New England winters working in a sawmill. This brought back some good memories. I would stand in an area and flip boards up to the trim saws and those teeth would buzz right by my head and shoot through the metal walls of the barn. I was told when I started, "Stand here, not here." and then they pointed to the row of holes punched through the metal siding. Many of the men I worked with are no longer around and this makes me smile thinking of them. Thanks for bringing back some good memories, "Rt" (now I need to go smell some sawdust)

This is the first time I have ever written a comment on a UA-cam video. I have watched many many Wranglerstar videos and find them informative and entertaining. But what I find most inspiring and enjoyable about them is to see how happy you seem to be, doing what you wish, living life to the fullest. Terrific lifestyle.

I'm with Mrs W....... love these tours. When I was stationed in the upper peninsula of Michigan long ago at Kincheloe AFB logs were recovered in such a manner from lake Superior and lake Michigan for same high end flooring etc..... beautiful grain, very solid product.

I'm lucky enough to live in an area that isosceles with rivers and streams that were used to ship timber. We have an old sawmill site in town that has Thousands of logs on the bottom of a shallow bay and sometimes you run across milled wood. I have a shelf in my office made from one of those that is at least from the 1880's and probably older

The thing I noticed, I thought was so cool. Was the band-saw, seemed to have teeth on both sides of the blade. I can't remember seeing that on any sawmill band-saw before. Of course I've not seen all that may saw-mill. My father in-law was a forester and I'm sure it is a very common thing to him.

Wish i was there...but I'm east coast. If I was I would sand and finish for you...been doing that for over 30 yrs. Depending on the quality of the milling I might not use traditional sanders....might just use a buffer (optional: a UFO attachment to the buffer) and some hand work for low spots.

The "n" in kiln is silent. It's pronounced "kill". Much enjoy your videos and your lifestyle, family values, Christian principals, etc. I live a lot like ya'll,only in the mountains of Western North Carolina. We have "sogs" (pronounced "sawgs locally) of wormy chestnut here. They are found buried where very wet conditions occur. The constant wet preserves from decay.
