This mission was a nightmare, and the music seemed to agree as well lol. It was tense, grand, and more than just an average skirmish. Tips for those yet to go through it: take Turncoat grenades. Always. Never leave base without them.
This is pretty much accepted to be the hardest takedown mission. Solely because Stupid decides to mess around with a broken gateway and figures the nutcase of a Gatekeeper will totally be on his side.
My first time playing this mission went poorly to say the least, I missed several 90% or higher shots, I look hit after hit, and after slogging it out to the last encounter I thought to myself “hmmm, reinforcements are coming, so if an power down the gate, they wouldn’t come.” Biggest mistake ever. The next turn saw the andromedon, 2 chryssalids and the gatekeeper popping up. All the while I had killed just a few of the weaker enemies and the boss was wrecking havoc in my lines. Torque fell first, after being surrounded as soon as she powered down the first generator. Verge didn’t help with his battle berserker ability sending the chryssalid (who was next to another chryssalid, gatekeeper, and the andromedon) to finisher her off. Verge fell second, after I sent him to power down the second generator (thinking that would help). He was suicide bombed by an android while on fire. That left Cherub and Terminal, for several rounds, buffing and protecting each other from the enemy forces. I barely stabilized Torque, but the path to Verge was blocked by an enemy (that’s when I learned you can only use one gremlin stabilize per encounter). I had to use Terminal to clear the path, then have Cherub stabilize him. Terminal fell third, and with one last mighty shield bash, Cherub felled the andromedon, barely completing the objective. What a hell of a mission that was.
This mission drove me to modify the .ini files to increase weapon damage. I still had to restart three times during stage 2 because of Ronin and the Bellus dude, and another three times during stage 2, once because the fecking zombies didn't die once the controller did and they finished off my last two guys.
So true. Was cruising along just fine in the game till I kicked in the doors on Bellus and his portal. Then all of the sudden it went from cheerful cake run to brutal meatgrinder.
I ended up having to restart multiple times, and repicked my squad to be Axiom, Godmother, Torque and Shelter. I got very lucky at 2nd room as the breach gave all my soldiers overwatch, and they all shoot at the "thing" until it dropped to 3 hp, allowing me to kill it on third breach in the first turn afterwards. CC is king on this mission lol.
Peerawat Nonthaphodej Yeah, originally I didn’t take my star players of Verge and Torque (Cherub and Terminal as support) because the first breach was Mechs and Turrets. After struggling for hours on the Bellus fight without them, I put them back on the team, and they helped made the Bellus fight managable.
I chose Sacred Coil as my first faction to investigate and the last mission gave me a big scare. This music is perfect to describe how frantic I was using Cherub and Terminal to shield and heal all the way through. Axiom was thankfully able to stand on his own with Mach Weave and self-regeneration each turn. Godmother was the only damage dealer running around soaking up hits and dealing damage. Never will I pick Sacred Coil as first again.
I had 3 playthroughs of this game only cause of sacred coil First i picked it first, well you know how that goes, I got stuck and felt like there wasnt a way to beat it Second I took it as last ... It isnt much better, i did have good Equipment but its just so unfair
They also were the most dangerous group of them all. If they succeeded they would have brought back the Elders and their remaining alienforces through the rebuilt gates.
Did that myself. The only question is how much firepower you can pump into their boss to take him out of the fight quickly and how aggressively you can mow the lawn around the Gatekeeper before you concentrate fire on it.
I only beat Sacred Coil on my second try with godlike Axiom rng. In the first two breaches, at the top of the round his melee instantly knocked a Ronin unconscious and panicked one other high priority target. This also ended up being the last mission I brought him on because he's so heavily reliant on getting good status rolls
The music for this mission is beautiful, and really good. That being said, I performed poorly during the final encounter, I brought out Cherub, Terminal, Axiom and Patchwork. Patchwork and Axiom got KO'd. Axiom by either Bellus Mar or bullets, and Patchwork by the Gatekeeper. Fun mission though.
Only reason I was able to beat this was blind luck. Bellus stuck himself in a corner, where I boxed him in with Torque bind, and she sat there like an absolute champ, tanking and dodging two Andromedons, while Cherub, Terminal and Verge fought for dear life against the Crysallids and ronin.
Blueblood's Fond Farewell perk is the pinnacle boss slayer hands down IMO. I could have probably one-shot Bellus if I used the Deadeye ability on top of it. Did the same to the Gatekeeper as well in the next room over.
Anton Tarvo, I wasn’t on the bandwagon with Torque at first, but after seeing and using her bind ability, she quickly became my favorite operative in terms of game mechanics.
@@newironage4438 Disregarding all the SNEK GF stuff, she's genuinely a useful operative. Bind is absolutely fantastic, particularly once you get the ability which stops it being cancelled when she takes damage. On top of that, her poison abilities are great, *and* she's armed with an SMG. By far my favourite operative. Also snek gf.
I managed to take these dudes down as my 2nd faction with Torque, Claymore, Terminal, and BlueBlood. It was a close one around the mid, with Blueblood using his epic pistol to triple tap the big boss instantly. From there, Torque would snatch priority targets and acid the rest to lower their aim, Claymore would drop the heat around the spawns to melt armor, and Blueblood would eat health bars while Terminal played the objective. Powerful squad there, lemme tell ya.
With a right team and right items it's pretty easy and awesome. Blueblood + Terminal + Turncoat and to spice up Godmother with repeater. Basicaly i used that thing that gives you 2 actions on Blueblood, then the teamwork + he had pistol with lightning hands modifed with miss=3 damage and +10%crit chance but probably should change 3 damage for extended mag to work at best. With the perk that last bullet deals double damage, ma man cleared everyone in the room with the help of Turncoat bombs.
I don't even remember how I beat this mission...It's like my mind just went "Forget, child, life's better without this memory".
This mission was a nightmare, and the music seemed to agree as well lol. It was tense, grand, and more than just an average skirmish.

Just plain unfair if you took Sacred Coil first.
Indeed. I made the mistake of doing Sacred Coil first.
Thank FUCK they rebalanced that mission.
Christopherodd literally banana-peeled his way thanks to a combination of luck and adequate agents: Blueblood,Terminal,Patchwork and Axiom.
This is pretty much accepted to be the hardest takedown mission. Solely because Stupid decides to mess around with a broken gateway and figures the nutcase of a Gatekeeper will totally be on his side.
Soundtrack of Terminal and Cherub being godsends.
And Claymore. Spamming explosives and rupturing everything really helps.
Best theme in the entire game.
I think I prefer the act 2 main theme.
Got You Covered is much better.

Music of the worst final breach ever

just throw a damn smoke bomb on your squad so bellus and the ronins miss their attacks god damn you guys are babies

Sacred Coil was the absolute worse, they used their ADVENT access to compile literally the most annoying units together into one group.
The dredded red mecs... also their androids make me sad lol
I hears you like Heavy MECs, Andromedons, and Kamikazi Androids, so here's all three in one room! 😉
They also were the most dangerous group of them all. If they succeeded they would have brought back the Elders and their remaining alienforces through the rebuilt gates.
Note to self: never *start* with the Sacred Coil as your firs investigation.
Christopher odd did and made it his bitch. Axiom and patchwork dude
Did that myself. The only question is how much firepower you can pump into their boss to take him out of the fight quickly and how aggressively you can mow the lawn around the Gatekeeper before you concentrate fire on it.
Better change the difficulty, nobody will laugh at you turning it down. ADVENT remainings deserves it because of the occupation.

How much you wanna bet that the dislikes come from the guys with PTSD from the mission?
This Mission was a Nightmare for me First i got through really good but the final Encounter is so crazy

honestly this mission would probably go much smoother for me as well if I had torque at the time
Blueblood's Fond Farewell perk is the pinnacle boss slayer hands down IMO. I could have probably one-shot Bellus if I used the Deadeye ability on top of it. Did the same to the Gatekeeper as well in the next room over.

You can also delay Bellus by a full turn (aka make him miss several actions) with Patchwork's Stasis field.

The Mission is awfull but the music is godlike
Screw ADVENT remainings, they deserve it!
