    Professor Leonard !!! You got me through call 1,2,3 I wish you did higher level math. I don’t know how I am going to complete my Batchelor’s without you!! Where is the number theory course, topology, advanced calculus 1,2, analysis!!!.. THE WORLD needs you. Love all your videos thank you so much for all you do. Best math professor I have ever had!!!

    You have literally corrected all the poor teachings from two professors before my current class. In 5 hours of going back through your videos, you have filled all my gaps. Its sad, because most professors just teach you how to solve things. You explain everything that's going on so the student really understands. Grateful for your videos. Thank you so much

    I don't know what I would do without your videos... I've been scared of everything with trigonometry for my whole life and recently failed a math course so I finally had to take on the problem. I've been watching every video and actually it's really not that hard!!!! The way you explain every 'obvious' detail and every seemingly simple thing so well. Thank you so much!!!

    Good Afternoon Professor Leonard,
    I'm not a student of yours but I gotta say good job on them gains. I've been watching your videos and you're doing great man.
    Best,

    That was fun. I would love it if you could link to practice problems! I find doing stuff on my own helps a lot more than just following, but you have been so helpful to me and helped me discover my passion for learning. I plan to keep watching you all the way to calculus 3.

    It has been 2 years since I graduated. You are basically my UA-cam teacher during my Uni days. I scored really well on all my engineering math modules thanks to you Professor Leonard. Looking at your video again, reminds me of all the grinding I went through with your videos. It was all worth it. Every second of the video is worth the watch. Thanks to the UA-cam algorithm, I am able to chance upon one of your videos to give my thanks and appreciation.

    Professor Leonard ,thank you for another awesome video/lecture on How to Prove Trigonometric Identities in Precalculus/Trig. The Trigonometric Identities are helpful when writing proofs in Trigonometry. In Advanced Mathematics writing basic proofs is an important tool for students in Mathematics, Physics and Engineering.

    Pro tip: if you forget any of these, you can derive most of them from Euler's identity e^(ix) = cosx + isinx, probly not for pre-calc though

    My trick during these kinds of proofs is to turn everything into sines and cosines.
    Probably a fairly awkward strategy in some situations, but it does seem pretty reliable.

    I don't understand 47:20. Factor what? And why did a sign in the denominator randomly change?

    • @brooklynsingleton3676
      @brooklynsingleton3676 Рік тому +1

      He is factoring out the negative from the expression - sec theta + 1 if you think about the whole thing as being (sec theta - 1 ) * -1, then you can rewrite it as -1(sec theta -1) and finally you remove the 1 from the parenthesis because in math if you multiply something by 1 or -1, it is the same as the original number, just with a sign change if it's -1. For example, we would instead of saying 1(5x) just say 5x, but we would write -1(5x) as -5x. That 1 at the beginning is always there, it's implicit, but we hide it away for better readability/redundancy. I hope that helps.

    I had a dream last night that I accidently opened the door to Professor Leonard's bedroom while he was innocently sleeping, because I thought it was a jean jacket emporium. And I felt soooo bad because I thought he must get thirsty students having "accidents" like that all the time o.0

    In the example at 25:00 . wouldnt it be easier if you subtracted both sides by cos^2 theta, then just divide everything by 3?

    25:00 easier to subtract Cos^2 from each side then you have Sin^2+Cos^2, so 3=3.
