Just feel like sharing this personal experience. Something like 10 years ago, we were out in a small forest, drinking, smoking, eating. We found a nice open spot to play some chess by moon light. Next to the moon there was a very, very bright star. Right next to it. I thought nothing much of it at first, just glancing up every so often. It was stationary for what i think was hours. Then, when i was looking at it, it slowly moved in a straight line for a second, then faded out. I pointed it out and we all shared a good discussion about the subject. It always stuck with me because it's (in my limited understanding) not a natural movement. If anyone took the time to read this comment, what object could behave like this? I felt like sharing this because i recently found out that one of the people i was with, one of my best friends, passed away. We had many good talks involving this subject, and much more. We also saw a massive meteor burn up many years later, which was well fascinating. Thanks, Valentin, and rest in peace. Maybe one day we'll have good talks again.
If I could only watch/listen to four channels (on UA-cam) like when I was a kid (the 60"s), this would most certainly be one of them. John, you are the PBS of my childhood and on behalf of all of us, we thank you for your public service.
Awesome interview! The fact that the exposure was 50 minutes also rules out any sort of top secret pre-Sputnik Sputnik, spy planes, debris in orbit, etc. Any of those things would have left streaks, not star-like spots. Of course, as a novelist, my overactive imagination leaps to alien warp drives taking off at a high rate of speed away from earth as fast as possible. Perhaps they took one look at our politics and immediately warped away.
@@SuperBroncosguy Reverse engineering the Roswell craft is why we suddenly have all these futuristic electronic components and gadgets, keep on pretending we are alone in the universe.
For myself this 1952 finding "appears" to be more tangible (albeit also unexplained) than the WOW signal. It is an incentive to evaluate more existing archived data
I and several friends once witnessed a transient star together in real time. Mesmerized by the pristine dark skies in Baxter State Park in northern Maine, we were focused on an opening between the patchy clouds above us when watched a star grew from dim to bright and then dim again before disappearing. It was stationary relative to the surrounding stars. My guess then, as now, is that we caught a straight-on view of an incoming meteor -- a perfect alignment that I have never seen again in many decades of stargazing.
I saw something similar in Ohio.. I was driving on a highway at night I started seeing 'stars' that would get really bright and 'big'.. not as big as a full moon, but one got about half the size of the full moon.. Basically a stationary 'star' would flare up for about 10 seconds or so, then dim back out.. but then another star in another patch of the sky would do the same.. it happened about a dozen times over a few min stretch.. and I wasnt the only one, several cars pulled over along the highway to watch this as well.. never really figured it out?
Great talk and great find on the photographic plates. I'm glad to hear Beatriz Villarroel is continuing to look for transients simultaneously from multiple locations. We won't find anything if we don't look.
The UFO/UAP that people and even military people and radar keep seeing since decades must be travelling to Earth somehow, the transient UFO theory would fit into this. If an intelligent civilization sent probes or actual craft with pilots it would make sense to send multiple in case one breaks down or something unforseen happens. It is a damn shame that many scientists refuse to take the possibility of alien visitation into serious consideration because of fear of ridicule or other biases. If aliens exist then we are also aliens to them.
I love your channel, and have had a deep interest in UFOs for some time. I knew you were too rigorous to leave this topic after you posted your first video on it. Welcome to the rabbit hole
This is amazing and I am very happy for Dr. Villaroel for this fantastic discovery. The time association to the 1952 incredible UFO event in DC is blowing my mind and I don't know if i should cry or laugh because this can be an incredible discovery and the proof we all need. Bravo!! ⭐
There was a motion picture made about the fly-over of Flying Saucers in the summer of 1952. The film seems to have disappeared from public access. What makes the movie an important document is that the actors play themselves as they experience the Flying Saucers fly-over Washington, DC . A well-known newspaper reporter named AL Chopp narrates the film as he personally experienced the fly.over of Flying Saucers. President Truman sent jets to prosue and shoot. A jet reportedly shot a piece off the craft that was analyzed pure magnesium. The movie does not seem to be available to the public and even Mr. AL Chopp's name seems to have disappeared from the public record.
I question the pure magnesium claim because pure magnesium is softer than aluminum and its powder is flammable. It doesn’t seem like a good choice for a space ship and definitely not one that can survive entry into atmosphere.
This was my first visit to your channel, but it certainly won't be my last ! I'm going to need to view past programs to try to catch up with you and it will be a pleasure to do so. Thanks so much for the work you do.
As someone who has been fascinated by the UFO enigma for the past 4 or 5 years I'm really glad a channel like this is covering history on this subject that has seemingly forgotten. Study of this history clearly shows us UAPs are not a Psy op and not the technology of a foreign power.
It is truly an impossible to reexamine the immense amount of history in this subject, but when something like new data presents itself then we will cover it.
@@bozo5632 It could well be a psy-op. That's firmly on the table. But if it is, they've kept it up for over 70 years which is worthy of discussion in its own right.
@bozo5632 then it's the most complicated psy op spanning 80 - 90 years. And for what reason? A psy op spanning that length would have to have foresight into factors of today that could never have been predicted. That is more a conspiracy than it being aliens in my opinion.
I'm so happy to see publishing scientists talk about uaps more often recently like this ...thank you John Michael, by helping to reduce the stigma in some small way
There was a film of the actual ufos going over the capitol building taken at the time they did. I have seen this video several times and it used to be available for years on UA-cam. But for some reason it is gone now and not one supposed special show on this subject shows the original video. It can't be that hard to find. I wish I would have saved it off line on a hard drive so I could up load it for every one to view.
I don't understand why taxpayers don't question NASA more than they do. They don't do unedited live feeds anymore, not transparent at all. Humanity deserves better.
If there is a conspiracy by governments to hide NHI . absolutely I'm sure NASA can't be totally trusted. Makes me wonder all those videos of weird UFO like objects in space station or surface of Mars and the moon may very well be more than "ice particles"?😂
Taxes are just a display of national obedience you have no authority over the government for paying them 15k a year or whatever they are spending 10 times the amount you’re paying in taxes by issuing debt..
21:30 this happened to relict hominid topic too: scientists got excited in the 60-70s, launched multiple expeditions into Himalayas and Pamirs, published papers, but the topic would not yield quick solid results. The expectations were overblown, and the results were not meeting them. So people backtracked into refusing to acknowledge this topic to protect their reputations. "No, we weren't wrong in our methods, the subject of research just doesn't exist". "It cannot be, and therefore - it isn't" Now a scientists researching this topic seriously is breaching an established dogma that was put in place to protect reputations of well, reputable scientists, that pioneered this research, but had to abandon and stigmatize it to protect themselves.
This was fascinating, right up to the point her cat gave me a heart attack and sent my soul to Valhalla. I loved seti@home but I always felt that it was an inadequate means of searching. I'm glad to see more creative and potentially more fruitful approaches being looked into, and I'm especially glad that these phenomena--whatever they may be--are finally being taken more seriously. I wish they'd hurry up and figure out how to expand the human lifespan indefinitely so I can stick around to see how all this turns out.
Yeah, I don’t think lifespan is the problem. This phenomenon is much more advanced and probably lives on a higher dimensional plane. And if life can exist there, so can…planets?
Space is so cool. Glad im living in a time where the mysteries of the universe are at our fingertips. Interesting to watch it unfold before us. Thank you for the video.
I've been following this story. All I can say is GOT EM!!! Those people out there who are just hell bent and adamant on disregarding the UAP phenomenon, Scoffing at the possibility even... You got em! Its going to be hard as hell for these people to shrug this case off, or to explain away. If ever there was a list: top instances of most convincing "evidence". Add this one to it. It will be remembered and studied for years to come I imagine.
"Hell bent"? Or merely people demanding proper, unbiased and repeatable testing without leaping to conclusions first? The vast majority of replies and vocal opinions appear to be from those insisting it's "aliens". This is similar to archeology, where people leap to conclusions of previous high tech and advanced civilizations with near total ignorance of current, and evolving knowledge. The "It must be alien!" crowd is the largest detriment to UAP research, because any all evidence must support their theory. That is bad science. It was mentioned in this video that stars don't blink in and out of existence right? Well, it's light we see and anything past that is an assumption. Being a start is an assumption. Perhaps many things blink from visible to not visible light but our current, image based observations do not observe enough of it to determine frequency. The Vera C. Rubin Observatory could enlighten us to the actually reality. Until then, we are mostly guessing without the capacity to test. Again, that is bad science.
Really fantastic interview, John! Thanks a bunch!!! 😃 We need to stop judging so much and just do science, doesn't matter the results! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊 And happy holidays!
I understood: all this aliens are just fakes, fantasies, fairy tales and the cover legend of the special services. They mask military programs, real UFOs, flying saucers and triangles - all these are purely terrestrial technologies. First they were made in the USA, and now they have been copied both in Russia and in China. Now, in conditions of global tension, the appearance of Russian UFO-type reconnaissance vehicles near American military facilities is more than justified. But it is important to remember that this technique is secret, first used by the Americans themselves in 1947, they have been actively using UFOs for many years... But this technology, plasma propulsion panels, is still not very convenient to use. Firstly, during the operation of the high-frequency pulsed elements of the railgun, which are part of the motor panels, strong microwave radiation occurs. This (even if it is protected by a Faraday grid) has a detrimental effect on pilots. Therefore, it is impossible to constantly fly on these devices. Secondly, because of the microwave oven, it is impossible to maintain radio communication with the devices. And, thirdly, the load capacity of the devices is still small. That is why "flying saucers" are used in secret mode for espionage purposes. However, recently such a spy function has become irrelevant due to the opening of borders and the availability of new technologies (satellite tracking). I advise you to read Christopher Buckley's book "Little Green Men", which satirically tells about the secret UFO technique and the spread of misinformation about aliens and even about fake "abductions" to support the legend. K. Buckley was a speechwriter for Bush Sr., he knew many secrets. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
The scientific community is fascinating and the old plates provide an insight into an age long past and should be investigated more for anomalies we may have missed great guest great minds😊❤
These videos get better and better! Could it be the objects were crap thrown into the atmosphere by a nuclear blast? I tend to think not. I bet this was the real deal!
I've read somewhere that a cover plate was blasted at escape velocity from an underground nuke test. The camera caught a pic of it but it was on only one frame so it was moving fast. They calculated that it was going at escape velocity. Interesting story.
I remember the first interview about this. I'm just blown away they found this AND that it correlates to the events in DC. That is probably not considered proof by scientific standards but the correlation....
For accuracy's sake, I feel it necessary to mention that the correlation really isn't as strong as most here seem to believe. The first sightings of the DC UFO wave began nearly 19 hours after the Palomar triple transient photo was taken. While this is close enough in time to merit closer attention, it is far from being the overlap that's suggested here.
Crazy thought. What if it isn't aliens at all, but we somehow got a very brief glimpse of another demension? When you watch videos about what "seeing the 4th dimension looks like " they usually show footage of a circle or something, sort of just popping into existence from a horizontal line. (or similar, I haven't watched one in awhile.)
Ufology is sadly in grave need of healthy scepticism, not just people who flock to the next snake-oil salesman who tells them what they already believe. That said, I'm sure there is an alien explanation for some of the UFO observations being made now and then. Might even be some grays on ice in a warehouse somewhere. Sadly, the vast majority of people in the ufo community do nothing to instill confidence in that line of thinking.
@@degitaar4665 Shouldn't be, but too often these sceptics are simply stuck in dogmatic thinking because it makes them feel smart, for the same reason some people see conspiracies in everything, making them feel like they have something they can predict.
So it can't be something in front of these 3 stars that usually blocks our visibility of them. But very rarely there's some event so that this object temporarily doesn't block them from our point of view. But yeah 1952 isn't that old to rule out early space tech testing. Officially the first high altitude nuke was only six years later at 1958. Nuking in high altitudes spreading some material that interferes over very wide areas. And I think the high altitude effects are also probably not well understood anyway.
As to lensing.... If its a black hole leasing...how fast would it need to be traveling to cease all lensing in one hour? I'm no scientist but seems an hour is a very short period of time to completely pass out of the area of optical lensing.
Unless im totally wrong, i remember this topic being discussed a year or two ago and the interviewee (possible this same person) said they were checking into other sources of plates to compare, etc. I wonder what the hold up is? Seems like a pretty straightforward thing to do.
@@EventHorizonShow ohhhh no way! This is awesome. I thought it was discussing the same thing as last time. I guess the previous discovery was those other 9, correct? Thanks for the reply, love the show!
She said something about Harvard making access to their collection difficult. Also, I imagine it is one thing if a researcher wants access to all plates of a particular star. It may be quite another thing to want to go fishing through the entire collection of fragile, irreplaceable, historical glass plates.
Definitely my favorite guest and episode so far. She is good at explaining things very clearly and easy to understand. Also very open minded. Thank you for the episode!
Curious, because I love looking at aerial photos, I searched the aerial photos for the area around the observatory. In a broad search outlining Los Angeles down past San Diego, there were high alititude planes in the area around that time. There are photos from July 15th, then more on the 23rd, 1952. If I expanded the search to a larger area there may have very well been planes flying on that day taking aerial imagery. Is it possible any of these could have caused the transients? I don't know much about planes, but this is in the description for the aerial photos. "Aerial Photographs were acquired by a variety of government agencies and the military. Aircraft used to collect these photos include General Dynamic's WB-57F; Lockheed C-130B and NP-3A aircraft; Lockheed U-2s and Convair 990 aircraft; and other commercial aircraft. Cameras used on past missions include Zeiss, Hasselblad EL 500, Wild Heerbrugg RC8, and Chicago Aerial KA 62"

Hey John, I know your guest's beliefs/opinions aren't your responsibility but is there any way can you do a short follow up on that recent video where your guest mentioned Skinwalker Ranch a bunch. I think a lot of us have historically felt sort of turned off by the mention of that place. I myself always assumed it was late stage history channel nonesense but as a hopeful skeptic regarding life in the universe, I also found much of the guest's other presentation pretty intriguing. Thanks! Also, one wonders if we could somehow get a confirm or deny on any secret nuke activity on that date in 1952.
You didn't do any research then, you just used your social brain's emotional reaction (you used the word assumption without shame for having made an assumption, and gave no rational reason for this assumption or for why you are not ashamed of having made an assumption, which sounds like you were manipulated socially into feeling that the assumption is the one that your human tribe respects and rewards people for making, as per the disinformation efforts that Grusch has talked about). If you did any research, the first thing you would learn is that first wealthy private investors, and then the US government, was funding and putting their own top scientists into the ongoing expensive multi-disciplinary research into the phenomena at the ranch LONG before the History Channel happened to approach the team asking to make a show about what they were doing.
Skinwalker goes way back before the reality TV show. It's a very odd story. So Robert Bigelow of Bigelow Aerospace bought the ranch around 1994 because of the reports of paranormal and ufo activity out there. He set up an investigative organization which the guest was a major figure in to try to collect data and see if there was anything to it. Then for some reason the US Government got involved and did its own investigation out there. The people involved say strange stuff happened, the problem is though, none of the data is available for us all to see. It's kept under wraps. The ranch was sold to the reality TV people some years ago, and I don't put any stock in their findings and they too won't release their data other than what you see on screen. So if there is something to it, then we can't see it. So not much to work with there. I do know however that with 99% certainty that if I went out there and camped for a week, I wouldn't see squat.
Yeah it's felt like less and less of a fun little joke over the last few years to consider an incomprehensible "Roadside Picnic"-style supercivilization may be tapping on the proverbial glass.
The plate has a certain thickness, correct? So therefore a plate defect would be quite obvious, at least to the trained eye.... It seems like that might be missing when explaining why it would be quite visible if that was the cause. Love the video!
If a pilot comes out of an unidentifiable craft and using a Gruff voice tells you in English he has just folded space from queue it's simply Unforgettable
5:22 Is anyone else having the thought that these objects are equally distant from each other? The assumption being that they are moving and are in a formation. If this is true and legit then it is some sort of actual evidence of something incredible.

Overactive imagination is why we have Star Trek.
Keep going!
@@SuperBroncosguy Reverse engineering the Roswell craft is why we suddenly have all these futuristic electronic components and gadgets, keep on pretending we are alone in the universe.
Finally she's back!!! I was hoping she went back and looked at the very old plates. But this was still very interesting.
Agreed -- we have to keep searching. Who knows what else we will figure out... :)
Bravo!! ⭐
Cat at the end: This interview is over.
@@jayteknica1175could be an isotope of Magnesium. Some isotopes act quite different from the natural atoms. I dunno.
You are assuming that it experiences friction entering the atmosphere. It appears there is a different physics involved with these craft.
@@ProblemChild-xk7ix perhaps, but then if different physics are involved I question if our conventional weapons would be able to shoot a piece off?

As someone who has been fascinated by the UFO enigma for the past 4 or 5 years I'm really glad a channel like this is covering history on this subject that has seemingly forgotten. Study of this history clearly shows us UAPs are not a Psy op and not the technology of a foreign power.
It is truly an impossible to reexamine the immense amount of history in this subject, but when something like new data presents itself then we will cover it.
How can you be sure it's not a psy-op? It looks like one to me.
@@bozo5632 It could well be a psy-op. That's firmly on the table. But if it is, they've kept it up for over 70 years which is worthy of discussion in its own right.
@@bozo5632more like a psyop against ufo not for it
How do you explain papua new guinea, zimbabwe sightings?
@bozo5632 then it's the most complicated psy op spanning 80 - 90 years. And for what reason? A psy op spanning that length would have to have foresight into factors of today that could never have been predicted. That is more a conspiracy than it being aliens in my opinion.
I'm so happy to see publishing scientists talk about uaps more often recently like this ...thank you John Michael, by helping to reduce the stigma in some small way

The Van Neumann Cat!
There was a film of the actual ufos going over the capitol building taken at the time they did. I have seen this video several times and it used to be available for years on UA-cam. But for some reason it is gone now and not one supposed special show on this subject shows the original video. It can't be that hard to find. I don't understand why taxpayers don't question NASA more than they do. They don't do unedited live feeds anymore, not transparent at all. Humanity deserves better.
I don't understand why they question it as MUCH as they do.
If there is a conspiracy by governments to hide NHI . absolutely I'm sure NASA can't be totally trusted. Makes me wonder all those videos of weird UFO like objects in space station or surface of Mars and the moon may very well be more than "ice particles"?😂
Maybe because truth matters, and we have a right to know what is being done in our name with our tax money?
@bozo5632 because they're funded by taxpayer money, and we have a right to know how our money is being used.
Taxes are just a display of national obedience you have no authority over the government for paying them 15k a year or whatever they are spending 10 times the amount you’re paying in taxes by issuing debt..
Huh, i knew about the UAPs over DC, but I had never heard about the Palomar plates. Today I learned. Thanks!
Wow, really incredible conversation. I love Dr. Beatriz!
Beatriz deserves to go down in History as the scientist that provided absolute proof of non-terrestrial technology...
Excellent find! Another cool mystery ❤
Fascinating interview. Thank you.

Very enjoyable episode John. It left me wanting more.
Space is so cool. Glad im living in a time where the mysteries of the universe are at our fingertips. Interesting to watch it unfold before us. Thank you for the video.
I've been following this story. All I can say is
GOT EM!!!

Why? Video these experiences and maybe people will take you more seriously.

Could it be the objects were crap thrown into the atmosphere by a nuclear blast?
I tend to think not. I bet this was the real deal!
Highly unlikely. John has looked into it, I’ll have to ask him to respond.
@@EventHorizonShow is that you Anna? If so do you fancy a date?
Atmospheric crap would be moving. And wouldn't be as bright as a star.
I've read somewhere that a cover plate was blasted at escape velocity from an underground nuke test. The camera caught a pic of it but it was on only one frame so it was moving fast. They calculated that it was going at escape velocity. Interesting story.
Imagine this is real i wonder😮 how big a NHI ship could be? Probably Miles in diameter 😮
One month after Portal Opener and Father of Rocketry and JPL, Jack Parsons passed...
Beatriz is a great interlocutor of yours, I am with her and love her perspective of the Universe.
This was a awesome frakking show! I had to listen 3 or 4 times to absorb the ramifications!
Excellent stuff folks✌️
Always heartening to watch someone go from a sceptic to an open mind :)
those who are not mutually exclusive
Excellent interview.
The exchange about the cats is so wholesome!
These are the videos I live for from you John TY 😉
More than just this UAP event happened in 1952. One of JMG’s older videos I watched today mentioned another in Japan

This is the result of checking other plates. New transients.

Have transients been found with modern digital photography?
Good idea but a plane of multiple planes would’ve made streaks on the plate as the exposure was for 50 minutes.
@@EventHorizonShow My mistake. I thought they were just 50 mins apart, not 50 min exposures. It’s still best to explore any and all possibilities. Love the show :)

The problem with that is the data that was collected in the 90’s isn’t publicly available.
@EventHorizonShow thanks for responding.
I always felt that this name is a disservice. The story is really interesting but the name "skinwalker ranch" gives a non serious vibe.
Plate defects are quite easy to distinguish from.
