I love our Mid-Range 5x9 Hiker. Got it last March and travel with it all over the place even to FL from Chicago. Whenever we stop, people always looking at it.
@@DIYOutdoorLife We picked up ours last year in March in IN. Super friendly crew. Tow that to Chicago suburbs. Fits right into our garage with the 270 awning mounted to the roof.
After years of shopping / considering this style of trailer, we picked up our 5x10 Midrange Deluxe in Columbus last week. Looking forward to the rest of your Hiker series!
Thanks for hanging out with us and talking shop Brian! Been long time fans of your channel. Feel free to subscribe to our channel for more content on Hiker Trailers and any Hiker owners stopping by should check out Brian's excellent Solar and Winterization videos!
Thanks Hiker Trailers, we had an amazing time. I hope the viewers enjoy the tour as much as we did. Much more to come… I’m an excited subscriber for sure!
These are some tact--a-cool campers! Very well built and designed with real world knowledge. Great to see that they are a home grown company and they allow for so many options.
Looking forward to info on the ultra lightweight entry trailer. I need a very basic, inexpensive trailer light enough to tow with a Kia soul. Basically a tent and storage on wheels. No off road travel other than a gravel road or two.
Hiker makes great campers! It was between the Hiker or the Bushwhacker for Us and We decided to go with the Bushwhacker! Now don't go leaving the BW community LOL! Great Video!
Hiker is amazing, picked up my extreme offroad last year. I couldn't believe how customer oriented they are. The day I picked mine up it was raining outside, and yet the lady was in there cleaning up the inside and out. Never had a better experience with any company! I have a 2 door JK and this thing matches up perfectly, we have taken this thing nearly everywhere. I have 4.56 gears because my Jeep has 35's, and it tows like nobody's business. My only complaint, if I were to have one which really isn't a huge deal. Would be first to be able to add 35" tires somehow. As well as the underfloor storage and water tank, the aluminum covers aren't sloped front to rear. Which means if you're offroad, and if you by chance drag the bottom of your trailer it's a blunt edge that could possibly get caught up on rocks or logs and cause serious damage. But it does sit high enough we haven't run into that issue, and also I will eventually have a skid plate fabricated to protect those two areas. Cheers to Hiker and you for getting the word out there about these amazing trailers!
I couldn’t agree more, I think a Hiker would look amazing behind my JKU. The EOR is an absolute beast, with a skid plate it could go anywhere. Thanks for tuning in, I hope youll subscribe and check out the video on the EOR coming soon.
I have a highway deluxe, and they are more capable of off roading than people may think, last summer were in some places in Leadville, Pinedale and Jackson that you would have looked that the trailer and been like there is no way its getting down that road.
Haha… this was my thoughts exactly. I’m 100% confident I could pull the highway deluxe to places that would break my trailer. Check out the last video we did on the channel, it’s all about the highway
What's the saying??? You should buy your 3rd teardrop first, then your close to what you really want"..LOL . Brian, thanks for the vid, can't wait to see the next one. Have a great day !
That would be really cool, I would have to think about what would make that possible. It wouldn't work to try to access through the roof of the camper, you would have to have an elevated awning.
@@DIYOutdoorLife They both make them 6x8, with zero wood. I'm planning on purchasing a camper from one of them, this year. If Tinycamper or runaway made a 6x9 it would be perfect.
Two questions for anyone who has a hiker: 1) how tall is it WITH roof racks and awnings (can’t seem to find that info) 2) what are your best options for restrooms when out camping?
I’m sure someone chime in with the exact measurements you’re looking for. As for 2). - It really comes down to preference. Some stay at campgrounds and prefer the public facilities over having to deal with an onboard bathroom. Others go to more remote areas that have outhouses, bathhouses, or even handle it the same way you do while backpacking. While on the road, there are rest stops and truckstops with showers. Planet fitness is only $10 a month and has amazing facilities, located almost everywhere. This is a great option for showering.
@@DIYOutdoorLifeAh, I should have been more specific! My curiosity is for overall off-grid preferences amongst the teardrop crowd for portable bathrooms. This may or not include areas with people, as some camping allows for seclusion and privacy, but for example spending several days on the beach distant from any facilities but where people are consistently passing by. I assume you gain some privacy from setting up the shower curtain or enclosed tent, but I don’t want to leave my spot, dig a hole, or even make it s habit to s- in the woods if camping. I assume people are using portable composting toilets, but I’m ignorant of all the options people may be using!
@@toddmcintosh2685 There are a lot of options, but most of them come down to some combination of a 5-gallon container, plastic bags, kitty litter, and a seat (snap-on or other), combined with a cheap showering tent like a Wolfwise. Use two or three times, wrap it up, throw it in the trash or dumpster. Composting toilets are far too expensive and heavy for teardrop campers to lug around.
Looked at the Hiker Trailer last year. Great trailer. Went with a company closer to home, WeeRoll from Ocala FL, and their all aluminum off road Gladiator. May want to check one out on a future video. So many choices. Keep up the good work!!
So, let's address the elephant in the room. "Hiker Trailers have jumped to my #1 pick for high quality, affordable teardrops, tiny camper, micro campers!!" Does this mean the era of the Bushwhacker is over??? Will we be seeing a new model of teardrop in your videos in the future? Is there a new kid in town? Inquiring minds.... EDIT - Since I'm sure Robbie from Hiker will be monitoring the comments, let me suggest a Highway Plus model, already complete with the upgrades that get to the average $11K cost. Scrolling through each and every "build your own" option is, frankly, cumbersome. Having a pre-set Highway Plus model to avoid that makes more sense. Thank you.
Haha… you’re the best. I’m not sure what the future holds, I wonder if Lucía would approve of TWO tiny campers!! Two small ones is like one big one right? I think I’m more of a mid range XL guy, let’s see…
You should purchase a lottery ticket. Our revamp of the series packages is due out before the end of Feb. and the Plus package is returning with some neat overhauls and a great value. Stay tuned for more very soon. ~ Robbie
Thanks for the video but all trailers was upgrade, I will love to see a video with the real HT base price teardrop per model and not upgrade models. This is not only HT sales models, all brands do the same.
I understand, the closest we have is the first one we showed. Only add ons was front box and extra door. It was actually hard to find a base price model because no one buys them. Almost everyone requests some add ons. I’ll look for one, thanks for watching!
Love our Hiker Trailer. Get out and do some camping!!

Would like to see a trailer with bunk bed you offer to see how it's arranged
You should be able to check it out on their website. It's a pretty neat set up, although its for smaller kids.
