Well, it's been quite a while since we haven't seen any activity from Ship 26 since its last October test-a ship notably different from all other members of the Starship fleet that SpaceX has constructed.
However, the scenario took an unexpected turn when Ship 26 was transported from the rocket yard to Mega Bay 2 at the production site on May 6th.

Not letting us wait any longer, less than a day later, SpaceX rolled back a new Static Fire Stand from Massey's Test Facility to the Build Site placed outside the Mega Bay door, ready to lift Ship 26 at any time. Even as this video goes live, I guess that the movement process of Ship 26 has been swiftly completed.

I think one possible use for ship 26 is to use it for static fire tests at the Massey test site. Also has SpaceX considered using parachutes on both the booster and starship for reentry (of course after the engines slow them down enough as to not tear the parachutes apart). No need for the dangerous chopsticks catching and no need for a landing site on land.

Control and fuel storage properties and handling, if a fuel depot, stand out for performance and testing.
Naked allows the maximum amount of fuel they launch into orbit to see what happens.
Actually, it may be a good idea if they cover the 'tanker' ship in insulation tiles all over the outside, it will help insulate the inside and shield it from the SUN, which in space is VERY hot if it shines on you! Considering that the fuel they are dealing with is cryogenic they need that 'tanker' to stay as cold as possible. (comment made @ 0:38 in the vid)

Well, hopefully all the ships from now on get used for some form of progress.
One problem that needs addressed, is the realities of an intercontinental model that should be designed to purpose with passengers and cargo in mind, and not as an after thought.
Granny might not like having to sit astronaut style. with her buttocks up in the air while being launched straight up.
Also, launching straight up is a waste of fuel when the goal is distance rather than orbit. Mortars are designed to shoot over things like walls and hills, everything else gets better range and efficiency by muzzle elevation. With max distance being at 45°...
So it might Nerdy Dumb to build a bunch of huge towers to launch the Grannies,
And maybe consider launch ramps, with more normal seating and cargo loading, and some R-3 engines remote forward in the hull to keep the nose up during launch. they could be at 45° to get lift and forward thrust at same time. nice would be swiveling and having a row down each side, so the ships could land on their sides. So in emergency landings, you didnt have hundreds of passengers stuck in a burning tower with the fuel at the bottom unable to abandon schitt with out a tower... Would be the metallic version of being burned at the stake.
Also maybe consider using one of the cull ships to run an experiment doing serious glide wings so you can use less fuel on the intercontinentals...
Way better efficiency using glide to get distance than launching Granny out of a cannon.
If its not needed to get to orbit, it should be properly designed. Might even consider hiring some retired aircraft engineers to help, rather than expecting Rocket Nerds to be practical about such things.
And if it was glide wings and not going orbital, maybe could get by without all those tiles? also booster and ships tanks could be sized for the job.
Also that point to point stuff is likely a money maker... if ya got that going, it would finance bigger and better things, likeTransit ships, Lunar Base, and help get the Mars Colony started.
I suspect DOD would be happier with more than a one size fits all
choice... They they would be fine with a point to point logistics model, and a different orbital lifter model.
Also they might be interested in a long range boosted fighter model, where they could launch at ICBM range. And be able to take out air defenses, planes on the ground, and planes in the air with Laser weapons in a single high speed pass at good altitude.
i.e use Raptors and fabrication to turn fast fighters into distance weapons. could even be drones. Via building smaller stuff rather than bigger.
Right now the Aircraft Carriers have to stay out of range... pretty much Dinosaurs unless range is extended on aircraft by some means.
If I was the Navy, I would be starting to think about what replaced aircraft carriers... Maybe something designed for launching long range stuff? and perhaps an escourt booster recovery ship?

Good Morning. What a beautiful liking ship. But appearance is nothing. It might be a beta ship. Kind of like the Enterprise Shuttle Craft. If you remember Enterprise was a test vehicle. I don't really know. What do you think? Will it get scrapped? Great Episode.

Elon, I see you don't understand how the shape of the starship affects its safety during reentry. Structural changes is a must. My advice is please think about the starship as about a boat, landing on the surface of water with extreme speed. You shouldn't have arc shape of the Starship's bottom (belly). This is not a barrel. It tends to rotate because of arc bottom, as if it was a barrel landing on the surface of water with extreme speed. It will not swim smoothly, it will constantly rotate, as it was during the last landing. The bottom part (belly) of the starship body should be flat, as the bottom part of any boat is. Did you see NASA solutions? Wings of Challenger? Their solution was flat bottom. Slide, not dive. Starship is "landing" on the surface of the atmosphere, as a boat on water. The atmosphere to the vehicle with speed 40000km/h has consistency of water to the boat. Reentry is similar to swimming across the surface of the atmosphere, and should last as long as the speed will slow down in a natural way, due to friction. Don't push Starship to dive into atmosphere. What you expect is that a barrel with speed 40000 km/h will smoothly enter deep water. No way! It will rotate, jump, it will dive and jump, and constantly rotate, as it was the last time. This is why all steering features were broken, they were too weak for such an endeavor. When you make the starship (means a barrel) flat from the "bottom" (belly), it would be much easier to put tiles on the flat surface, maybe make a kind of "keel" to make the starship more steady, and starship will smoothly enter deeper parts of the atmosphere as the result. You have time, do not hurry, starship must slide over the upper part of the atmosphere, give it time, and make it more like a boat, not a barrel. Structural changes!
