Emily was the true hero of the story, not Victor. She didn't get to settle down or have children, but not everyone does. She accepted her death, and that her life was cut short. She honestly deserved better.

Dude, a corpse bride idV crossover would be crazy!
I love how you covered the stage play here as well. I find the story really interesting with Aesop as the main character. I feel like that’s not the character you’d really expect and I love that!

I think your personal perspective on life is exceptionally fascinating, and it reminds me of my best friend. He stopped contacting his friends and became pretty much a hermit, and I don't think life is all that satisfying for him. He goes through the motions, but is constantly sick and struggling.. But I found that after we became friends with each other he is so much more lively, he says that he doesn't mind being left behind by friends and he doesn't mind not talking to them, but he is so genuinely excited, happy, and grateful that I have remained his friend even through hardships. We've been friends for almost two years now, but I can definitely say he has impacted me in many ways. He made me want to be a better friend, who didn't show their anger every time they felt it, and who tried to have more of an open-mind than others. He also sees death as an escape of sorts, but I don't think he sees it as beautiful. Personally, I also relate to what you were talking about as well.
I don't have many things that I do, I am a hermit and I don't like to go out much. I'm afraid of making connections with people because I feel as if I am not someone who is fun or very much a pleasure to be around, and I'm scared of being rejected by others. I'm obsessive and think I must be working at all times in order to have a meaningful life, but even then I don't feel like my work ends up meaning anything in the end anyway. You mentioned that you don't play video games in your free time much anymore, that you spend all your time dedicating yourself to youtube, and it reminds me of my own relationship with IDV. For me, IDV is escapism. I max out my logic points each week religiously, I do every event that comes out, I plan out challenges for myself to make IDV more hard (i.e. don't roll any dice until the last week of the season), and I've even planned out my fragment expenditures and the like.. But-, at the same time, I'm awfully aware that "coping" all the time isn't particularly healthy either.
I am aware that I should try and make friends who are not online, I should try to go out more and to have more experiences, but I think that sometimes we as humans get consumed by fear. Since I am afraid of failing I never try, since I'm afraid of meaningful connections I avoid them, and since I am afraid of facing reality, I don't. Your personal journey with wanting to be a better version of yourself and to contest the thoughts that you have in your mind, to try and have fun even if it doesn't produce a video, or to do your best in your own little ways is inspiring. I feel like each day that passes, I am beginning to realize what a beautiful life means to me. Beauty is feeding our animals with my mother in the mornings, beauty is carrying heavy boxes of apples that hurt my back with my father, beauty is looking out the window and thinking to myself "the sky is beautiful" and knowing in my heart it is not the sky I am truly entranced by, but the fact that I love the world around me and that I am alive in the moment.
I think death is beautiful when it's time to come has arrived, but I think that living though it can be hard, can be equally beautiful if you open your mind to it. I don't know why I am writing so much, but even if it means nothing to you, I feel in my heart that it's important you don't think you are alone in this battle with trying to do your best for your life, and struggling with the fact that what might be best for you might not be what your mind is telling you... I feel uncomfortable thinking about trying to make friends in real life, or to search out experiences that are outside of my house, but I think that if you can do it, then I can as well. I am always jealous of those who have social lives and who don't always confine themselves in their houses,,, but I think even if it is scary I'll do my best to face my fears. I'll go out this weekend and try to make friends, and even if it is awkward and it is embarrassing and I don't even make one good human connection, at least I tried to open my world. And if I keep opening up my world, maybe one day I will find the fulfillment I so desperately desire. I hope you reach that fulfillment yourself as well. And I hope one day your heart will not beat because it must prove your existence and impression on the world, but rather because it is full of life and a desire to keep living.

i think this is one of the first times that i've ever cried watching a video, the way that you delivered the message was so beautiful! personally, i've had many near-death experiences, the most recent one was being diagnosed with cancer and needing an emergency surgery so that i would stay alive(i've been cancer free for almost 10 months now thankfully!!). when i was diagnosed, i was scared at first, but then i chose to live my life to the fullest, as i wanted to enjoy the life that i was given rather than to stay depressed for the rest of it. even without having to worry about cancer anymore, i still make sure to enjoy my life, as i've learnt a lot from that experience.
(also happy halloween once again zeez!! :D 🍬

I’m glad that instead of Emily being married, she could be ‘free’ instead. I feel like she deserved much more than the acceptance of her death but I do enjoy the fact that she was not tied down by the title of ‘bride’ anymore, as she wasn’t plagued by the fact that she didn’t have a husband. Not to mention she was such a sweet character and she understood that she couldn’t just take Victor from Victoria 💔 I’ll forever love you Emily Corpse Bride

made me want to rewatch the movie and stageplay all again!!! Thank you so much for this vid🥺🥺🥺
In character design-wise i love how at the start Victor and Victoria need to act proper and follow their parents orders out of fear and out of lacking self confidence, and it shows on their tidy clothes/hair, the more the movie progresses and they start to gain courage on what they want to do by their own Victoria's hair/dress gets messier, Victor's cravat gets crooked and his suit is a wreck compared to the start of the film! As if they are breaking free from their opressive life

This video was so eye-opening for me. I too often think about death, as do many others; however, I never actually perceive it as anything more than something I am constantly pressured to anticipate and dread. It is almost as if there is no way out. Death shouldn't be something to fear. It shouldn't consume our lives; death comes when it's time to do so; we can appreciate its beauty when it is our time to bask in it, but as of right now, we should cherish life, spend time exploring this world and what it has to offer, and finding our reason to stay. I really loved hearing your perspective on this; this video was super entertaining and also.. somehow comforting in a way. Thank you.

ALSO the IDV stageplay is so funny and I absolutely LOVE IT!!! I love the story and how they depict characters! They all act in character and look like them as well! Altough sadly the lore from the stage play isnt canon in the actual game I think its hilarious to think how they all live in the same manor and how they all cant die LOL

the part about "show over tell" with that one scene .. i couldntve said it better myself. the way you talk about the characterization of corpse bride is really satisfying in how it shows your true appreciation for the media (my favorite part about a good video essay.) when i heard about an idv stageplay mention in this of all videos, i knew immediately what tie-ins to the initial topic could be made, and god did you make them. hearing your indepth thoughts on the stageplay was truly touching for me, as a writer & as someone who deeply appreciates the craftsmanship of the themes each episode tries to convey.
honestly i didn't mean to type this much, but something about the way you discussed this topic in all its complexity moved me. i think striving to make life more beautiful is a wonderful takeaway from it. as a youtuber who inspired me relatively often these last few months, especially hearing a bit of your struggles, i sincerely hope you're able to keep making fruition of that goal. regardless of what something being beautiful means to you

leaving another comment BUT dude i love aesops character so much he was portrayed so well in the stageplay and so accurately, im saying this as someone who also kinda just.. wanted to throw my life away for mortuary science bc i had nothing to live for until i made some rlly good friends ofc heh.. his lore and character aer also relatable asf like wdym u were sheltered and manipulated by someone u looked up to until u were basically non-verbal too... believing all they do and say is right and they are all you need even if they never taught u life skills or social skills so u would have to crawl back to them.. because they are the only person you have. that was a lil deep but i LOVELOBVE LOVE aesops chaaracter hes js like me ong. sorry if this was a bit personal i know its crazy to say or chronically online to say but i feel aesop so much likd after i read so much abt his character i had to check outside my window bruh😭🙏

i loved your analysis of corpse bride, i love hearing people’s opinions cause im the stronger víctor x victoria defender.
for me, victor loved emily in a friendly way, he listened to her story and helped her feel the love she deserved, maybe not romantically, but she finally felt that someone loved her enough to literally die for her instead of harming her.

Your delivery on the whole message of this video is so beautifully well done. Honestly I been kinda in rough spot at the early year of 2024 and was pretty much at my lowest point, but I eventually kept going still because I remind myself that I still have many things to look forward to in future (such as Sonic Movie 3 for example lol). Also visiting my old childhood game like Kingdom Hearts or Undertale lifts my spirit even more and it helps me to not overthink much compared to last year where I usually tend to break down a lot from that lol
But yeah, imma end my ramble here- my point is that you're very strong person zeez 👍 you're doing great, keep up at it!!

I hope you make more videos like this in the future, I really enjoyed your perspective🤍

Corpse bride was my sisters personal favorite movie mainly how the story went, Tim Burton really made great movies specifically the stop motions ones and one of the folks who made nightmare before christmas(my personal favorite movie and to the t) this isn’t about my personal favorite but wanted to adore Tim burtons work anyways. Corpse bride was one movie back then use to hate corpse bride, it wasn’t the art style cause obviously it was amazing looking but the way how victor went to the world of the dead and how it was disturbing and scary which is ironic that me loving nightmare before Christmas cause it has the same style, humor and creep factor. But coming back to this movie idk where my young self hated this movie but to me I now love this movie on how the character is written, the clever jokes. Especially when my sister cries when Emily finally can pass away peacfully and I can understand why and with the butterfly being a beautiful symbolism as well.

Zeez i know how it feel when you think that only productive things matter, after my graduation from high school i couldn't enter on a college and that make me really sad because i always disillusioned myself with that only to understand that i needed to grow up before, even i am from another reality from yours, i an from another country, i see that we share similar experiences, but what i really understando from this last year is that even if i fail i need to try again after all we humans only lives once and i bealieve that think to much about how you can be more productive is only another away to waste our lifetime, i hope you had a great day and take care, so you can do more of this amazing content, cause live the life is the true meaning. This is my second comment. At first, I was thrilled to see your video on this channel, and I initially used it to watch while eating lunch or dinner. But 15 minutes into the video, I was tearing up, so I knew I had to watch this in my room, where I could fully focus on your message. And, wow. It's the end of the video, and I'm a sobbing mess on my desk; my eyes are literally getting puffy through all the crying.
The more the video proceeds, the deeper it gets and the more emotional I feel. The background music, your calming voice, and the meaning of life and death... all bring tears to my eyes. I truly truly admire your soul and how you can make heartfelt content like this. I will be moving to another city in March next year to study college. This city is a much busier city than where I'm living, and I'm afraid I'm gonna be dragged into its fast pace also. Besides my main course at school, I've also signed up for 1 more online college course and 2 more life-skill courses, and I figured it would be a bit... stressful, to say the least. The reason for this is that... I wouldn't want to live my life meaningless, a life with no achievement, with nothing to repay my parents for everything they've done for me. So I aim to work harder and harder to achieve that goal. but with this, I'm afraid I might not have a study-life balance, I'm afraid there's no more time left for my hobbies, my friends, or... myself. It's a really tough thing, but seeing your video, I realized that I really need to give myself beautiful things to treasure and to chase after also. Maybe playing a Tchaikovsky piece on my violin, sculpting a pumpkin out of dry clay, or basically giving myself some time to just... do nothing.
Besides the strong message, I'm genuinely happy that you trust us enough to share part of your life with us-as your viewers-to talk about what you've learned and how you relate to the characters. I've always watched your "just talking" videos on the IDV channel where you shared your struggle with the negative comments and viewers to the end, and I always felt my heart ache for you. This video makes me bawl my eyes out, as what you share with us is on a much deeper level, where you struggle with your... life. It's a hard thing to talk about, and I truly appreciate and will always be grateful we can get to know that side of you, thank you so much, Zeez ❤❤ I'm looking forward to how this channel can evolve and develop, and I wish you all the best!

The Corpse Bride was definitely one of my favorite movies that I’ve watched, I also really enjoyed how you explained your perspective of the movie and how interesting you made it.
Corpse Bride was honestly one of the only movies that made me cry and by the time I was finished with it I was a hot, overtired mess who had just finished one of the best movies (In my opinion)
I was also younger at first when I watched the Corpse Bride (13) so I didn’t really understand how deep the movie truly was, I recently rewatched it and really enjoyed how they described the afterlife or death area of the movie without it being totally depressing and still giving it those chill, humorous moments throughout the movie. I really enjoyed how much you broke down the personality, actions and your personal views on each character, and now that I’m looking back on it I’m very glad that Victor and Emily never ended up together and instead Victor and Victoria. The Corpse Bride really was a beautiful movie and I really enjoyed how detailed you were with explaining it while still adding in those hints of humor throughout the video. I think another reason I enjoyed the Corpse bride so much was because it made me honestly less scared of death? I had and still have a crippling fear of death ever since I was 10 and I feel like the way they made death just sound so okay in a way made me reassured? It’s confusing but I think it’s true (Sorry for writing a entire book)
(Also sorry if my English is bad it’s not my first language 😭)

It felt a lot more relatable and made the movie’s themes stand out more. I also think about death a lot, and I’ve also really struggled with forming connections with people. Edit: In all seriousness, you deserve to take some time for yourself. You don't need to pressure yourself into making daily content. Not sure why my other comment that took me forever to type got deleted, I hope it isn’t because I violated a guideline or said something wrong? 😭
But to keep it short in case you missed it, I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy seeing these types of videos where you share thoughts about such abstract topics as someone who thrives on constant reflection - I really connect with the main message you wanted to convey, and I’m personally glad that it isn’t just an objective review of a film. If you ever plan on making more videos like this, I look forward to them. I relate a lot to your definition of what ‘beautiful’ is as well. Your channel’s content often qualifies for that adjective for me, as they remind me of what’s important and inspire me to not give up 😊 You posted this video at a time I needed to hear it, and I’m sure it’s the case for many of us as well.
Congrats on accomplishing this project!! I hope you could find a satisfying break for yourself to recharge after this. It’s indeed easier said than done to find the balance we want in our lives, but hey even the smallest steps can be rewarding.

At first I watched his videos because it seemed silly and funny but now I have a different view of this person. When he mentioned the beauty of death it reminded me of my sister explaining to me that in Islam people who believe in Allah will see the angels of mercy in their death, The most beautiful creatures, unlike the angels of punishment who appear to the sinners and those who do not believe in Allah .This made me think, good people who believe in Allah and follow Him will have a beautiful death. And when a person dies in Islam, they meet the people they lost in life and the dead ask a lot but tell the person who died recently to rest, Just because life is tiring so they tell them to relax... So I think that Islam made death more beautiful in my opinion🩷
