If this doesn't win Best Picture, I have no faith in the Oscars. Moonlight is a movie we'll talk about decades from now.

Sorry to tell you, but while it will be nominated, it's not going to win. I think at this point, it's pretty clear that La La Land is going to win best picture.

LOL! Yes, I, along with almost everybody else (not everyone but most) got it wrong. Just like we didn't think Donald Trump would win. To be fair though, this was a case of two good options and the underdog winning. In the election, it was a case of two horrible choices it's just that the even worse choice won. :(

Hi! I'm here 7 years later...and we are studying it in my writing class. I watched the film when it came out, however I've had to watch it several times as I analyze for my essay. I'm so intrigued with every aspect of this film. It is truly a masterpiece.

If you hear Jimmy Kimmel's perspective on the whole wrong Oscar card fiasco he said that after the Moonlight crew finally made up on stage he was still talking and Denzel got up and was gesturing and telling Jimmy to get Barry on the mic. He wanted Barry to have his moment and speak. I thought it was very cool for a Hollywood royalty type like Denzel to make sure a young black director got his due.

Supa Nova I know a lot of people in the industry who have worked with mr. Washington(including my dad) all say that he’s very racist toward white people and has an extreme bias toward white people. In my opinion, he was a little to happy that moonlight won. It’s not the civil war dude. It’s an oscar. One year, people are happy for moonlight even though the majority of people didn’t see it just because it has a bunch of black people in the cast, and then the next year people get mad that green book wins for the same reason! They say, “it’s just cause it had a liberal message and was about racism. The oscars are a popularity contest. It’s not that serious.

akaElleLatham I like the confidence and La La Land is my pick as well for Best picture but its really between La La Land, Silence and Moonlight. If the oscars are fair, it will go to La La Land, if they want to be Nostalgic, they'll give it to Silence and if they are political, Moonlight. I would be fine if any of these three won it though to be fair.

It's funny how people on the comments think that "Moonlight" is going to win all the awards when they probably have not seen the other movies like, Arrival, La La Land, Nocturnal Animals, Silence, Live by Night, Manchester by the sea, Jackie, Paterson, Edge of Seventeen, etc. Don't get me wrong I would love to see "Moonlight" get all the awards it deserves but there are more incredible films that have come out this year and some that we are yet to see.

Win or lose, he's on now. He'll be stacking projects like McQueen in no time. We (Black people) need filmmakers from our collective who can tell *nuanced* stories about the Black experience. To listen to him, would you have guessed that he grew up very poor? That's a big part of what "Moonlight" is about, perception versus reality and, as Paul Dunbar put it, the "masks" we wear to survive. All shapes and sizes.

That’s grade school lying 101 if I’ve ever heard it. You should let your greatness shine
through your own accomplishments and stop perpetuating things that didn’t happen, ( let alone the fact that it didn’t even happen to you)
You should be ashamed. Very disappointing.
