Qui Gon was probably the best example of what a Jedi should truly be. Less hindered by the Jedi Dogma and more about Balance. Very similar to Kriea’s views before she was exiled by the Jedi.

I always loved our Quigon was viewed as that hippie Jedi, so obsessed with going with the flow (of the force) living off his feelings that sticking to what his society (the Jedi order) demanded or rather expected of him. A lot of the council and Jedi as a whole looked down on him, yet he truly was the only Jedi in Millenia to learn how to become a force ghost, showing how right and powerful he became. After all, it was him who taught Yoda, the greatest Jedi master, how to become a force ghost and to learn to abandon the Jedi dogma and instead take the time to reflect on the will of the force

Common fan fic fuel but the act of saving Anakin would have been against the Balance though and if you paid attention you would see that likely Qui-Gon would have let him become Vader in the end knowing through is prophetic views that The One's sacrifice means balance for the whole of the Force. Some might argue it's why Darth Maul was able to put him down in the end so as to spare Qui-Gon from having to make the choice in the first place though I believe he would have in the end let the Prophecy unfold.

It’s been pretty openly discussed amongst directors and writers within Star Wars that Quigon was the enabling vessel of the force to bring the chosen one into the fold and allow for balance to be brought to it.
Quigon himself and his survival would have been a huge factor into how Anakin would have developed. It’s why that final battle and it’s orchestration was referred to as “Duel of the Fates” the fight is for the fate of Anakin. Quigon’s battle to ensure Anakin can see the balance within the living force and Maul knowing that his master has a much bigger plan, an endgame so to say and identifies Quigon and Obi Wan as key pieces on the board that are too close to walking beyond the path of democracy and the Jedi councils dogma instead allowing the force to guide them to form an opposition against Sidious’s plan.
As much as the prequels have their downfalls the core story and it’s setup and payoffs is phenomenal and the political context and how Sidious controls things is brilliant. It’s really fitting that when we reach Episode 3 that “duel of the fates” is referenced again in the final battles to form a closure to the story arc, the music is essentially creating a bridge between the two events showing this is the fate, the outcome from that initial battle all those years previously on Naboo.

Seeing as that Qui-gon was killed I felt Mace Windu should have stepped up to train him. If for no other reason he knows how to control his Dark side, something Obi-wan just wasn't equipped to help him
However I do think Obi-wan's experience with Anakin would be greatly helpful with Luke.

Said almost the exact same thing my friend. He was the only true Jedi by listening to the will of the force and not being run by the Republic in the entire order. He did what he needed to and what the living Force told him to and the rest of them were being ordered around by a sith Lord and did not know it. They had a lot of balls looking down on him if he asked me. They all became part of the problem and were the very instruments they were trying to fight.

It's important to remember that Windu invited Qui-gon to serve on the Council because Windu believed that the Jedi had become stagnant and too intertwined with the Republic Senate.
He believed Qui-gon could help him offer different view points to the Council and eventually separate the Order from the Senate again.
One view point they shared is that the Jedi should have been free to act as the Force dictated not politics.
Windu is well known for his distaste of politics and was often seen as a bit of rogue himself in younger years.

I honestly have always been drawn to Qui-Gon Jin. Ever since I can consciously remember it when I was around the ages of 4-6 years old. The lightsaber color of green was always alluring. (Favorite color) I however remember being drawn to 2-4 characters out of any in the series. Mainly being Qui Gon, Luke, & Anakin. Qui Gon & Luke have always spoke to me the most. They always have an independent sort of nature & sense of duty to do what's right; even if that path lead them to be the light in the dark, or vice-versa! Now as I've grown older & more spiritual, Qui Gon's teachings & views of balance reside more within me. Hearing these things makes my love for him as a character stronger. I think a Qui-Gon series would be very great to stress these different idealoligies/philosophies. Hope all is well for anyone that read all of this & everyone in general; much love! 😁☯️👊💚🤟

Qui Gon was the best example of a "Grey Jedi" ever presented. One who was completely led by the Force, and not by Jedi or Sith Dogma. I always hoped there would have been some sort of way to bring him back into the universe, maybe some form of Force Resurrection in order to begin training new Force sensitive beings into a new Grey Jedi Order. Will it happen? No. It would just be cool to have him back and seeing a series about him.

As a child my first Star Wars movie was VI, followed by I, Luke's Green lightsaber became my favourite colour, so when Episode 1 came around my admiration for Qui-Gon was at its peak. Admiring him as a father figure, looking at him as if I were Anakin, when Qui-Gon ultimately fell, it hurt; like it did for us all.
The point is that as I have grown older I appreciate more and more about Qui-Gon's character, morals and outlook that made him such an unforgettable Jedi. Learning more each time I watch Episode I and find something I had never noticed about him when I was younger. Qui-Gon is the best.

Jinn was without a doubt the most enlightened Jedi of his time.
His flexibility to look at things from different perspectives & not adhere to the dogmatic teachings of the Jedi was how the Order should have operated.
He would have been the perfect teacher for Anakin Skywalker had he lived; as he would've been able to have fully understand the conflicting emotions within the young Skywalker.
I say this because Qui Gon Jinn had experienced what it meant to have been in love & could've been able to teach Anakin how best to handle this powerful emotion.
But, the prophecy had to be fulfilled where Jinn wasn't to be Anakin's teacher as young Skywalker's path was already forged.
If I were a padawon, Jinn would be the master I would wish to be apprenticed too.

From a faith perspective, Qui-Gon Jin is the best example for a valid Messianic figure candidate; not lead by the established dogma, not in search of power but lead by the nature itself through the Force in striving for challenging balance, not stagnation and thirst for power. His views could be felt way into the training of Luke Skywalker. Training Obi-Wan Kenobi, it led to the fatal and crucial circumstance of the birth of Darth Vader and Luke and Leia simultaneously. He taught his former master Master Yoda things that even went passed Yoda's immense wisdom on letting the Force guide the Jedi, because Yoda was taught in the dogmatic ways of the Jedi. Not to point out that Anakin was the sole result of acting in complete accordance with the Force which the Council disliked. Hence Anakin's view on the Council was coloured by that; he was saved by someone who acted against the Council and who trained a Padawan in the same manner, whom, eventually, become his master, mentor and brother-in-arms.
Qui-Gon Jin is the near equivalent to Christ in this universe due to the very fact of going against the established rules and dogmas of the Jedi, who had forgotten the wholeness of the Force and were clouded by well-maintained stagnation, that desired beyond his own will to make them remember what the Force is actually about.

I do agree with Qui Got on the force, but I also think that a more complete version on this is Mace Windu’s views on the force which made him have a purple light saber and even allowed him to defeat Darth Sidius in one on one combat. In my view Mace Windu is the ultimate Jedi master in terms of combat power and wisdom, however Qui Gon did master a part of the force that no other Jedi before him was able to master and so he gets a lot of credit for that (force ghost).

Mace windu embedded himself he had lost the ability to use the force because they could not see the clone army and they didn't know they were being ran by a sith Lord. The sith order set that up for a thousand years and engineered the entire war with the separatists to put sheave palpatine into power. Mace windu did not stop or see this. Plus they lost their ability to see certain things. The emperor was able to pull a shroud over everyone including Yoda. By the time of episode 1 the jedi council were nothing more than pawns of the republic, they let the republic control them and Palpatine knew this and that's why his plan worked so well that's why the jedi fell so easily... Dooku was right in episode II but it was because they were the republic no longer Jedi, Jedi should not be tied to any large galactic government. This is why in legends when Luke rebuilt the order, he did not use the old Jedi temple's site on Couruscant instead making his acadamy on Yavin 4, by doing so Luke separated his order from the republic, while allowing them to be an ally to the New republic. Qui-gon was the true example of a Jedi not tied down by any politics or galatic affairs but simply flowing with the force.

Even in the instances we got to see of Qui Gon and Dooku in the animated series, Qui Gon showed how flawed just following the jedi code was. Dooku made several decisions in which that would been "the code" or the right procedure to do, as prescribed by the Jedi Order, but Qui Gon would call it out. Dooku could have choked the life out of that corrupt politician - which, by the Jedi code, was okay - since Dooku did technically try to negotiate first. However, Qui Gon argued against this - as "Life is the will of the Force." The Jedi Code versus the Will of the Force was constantly at odds, because the Jedi Code completely dictated it - it was no longer the Force's will, but the Jedi Orders. The Force will always clash against those that tilt it or dictate it. For that reason, I think Qui Gon's mere existence was a will of the force - an attempt to illustrate to the Jedi in a physical way, that their ways were becoming flawed.

It’s almost as if his enlightenment makes him seem like a Star Wars equivalent of a Buddha. This is no insult by any means but I regard this as a complement especially for the writers who went deep down the rabbit hole of spirituality and somehow make you question more and more about the true nature of the force if it is what we think it is or if it simply can go by multiple different names such as fate or destiny and then it leads down really deep rabbit hole of even deeper contemplation.

Qui Gon is an exceptional example of Taoism. That would be a pure example of a "Grey Jedi". He understood that life and death had their place in The Force. He knew there was balance in the universe. That's why he believed so strongly in the prophesy of The One. Truly one of the greatest masters. That's why he refused a seat on the counsel. No one who understands the way things work would ever sit behind a desk and decide how others should live

I want to see a story where Qui Gon Jinn visits Darth Maul as a Force Ghost. I would do it either right after the fight with Ahsoka or a few months before the final duel with Kenobi. Not even sure what direction it would be either. Something similar to Obi Wan. That small shred of a moment right before he drew his last breath something on that level. Maul was a tormented soul. I feel like Qui Gon would be the type to pop up on him as a Force Ghost and forgive him. Causing conflict which makes him turn to the Dark side even further because the sheer thought of him even WANTING to go toward the light is disgusting to him but it’s there. Then it comes to head on Tatooine fades into the duel with Obi Wan and Qui Gon just over head looking
