Pure treasure. Thank you. Future generations will also be indebted to Joe St Ledge for his film coverage. Compiling and Digitising this material and saving it to the cloud (UA-cam) is excellent.
As a UK IRRS member who due to geography, never gets to a meeting, this is one of the very few benefits of Covid-19, being able to these fascinating films on-line. Well done to everyone concerned for all the hard work, that no doubt, went into digitising collating and editing the footage and of course the wonderful body of work left to us by Joe St Leger
Thank you so much for putting this online. It's the first time I've ever been able to 'attend' an IRRS meeting. The bonus film was fascinating, top and tail steam for motorway construction, what a thought. And I loved the Loughrea footage, having once walked the trackbed.
thanks for sharing joe did a great few clips on the cork-youghal line before it was dismantled during the mid 70.s till its demise in 1988 , great to see d old clips
Great stuff, just letting you know that was the North cabin at Limerick Junction, the man on duty beside Joe was PJ Slattery, a gentleman. The South cabin was red brick
That's great, thanks for letting me know, I've heard of that signalman before and that he was very accommodating for the likes of Joe and other railway photographers.
The reopening of the Western Rail Corridor would shorten journey times by train would connect Connacht with Ulster too cut down on Pollution, Car Accidents, Traffic Jams & Road Deaths even to have a 24 hour train service in Summer Time & St. Stephen's Day trains.
Brilliant footage I just found it now I live in dungarvan and why the took that line from Waterford to dungarvan and onwards is beyond me much need to take cars off the road would make good revenue btw that bridge is the longest span bridge in Europe still in existence or turn table bridge funny my girlfriend father who is 82 road the train many a time and remember s it fondly and quigly magnesite some great video s of it going around the bay near clonee dungarvan

Thanks Martin, yes Joe was out for nearly anything unusual on the Youghal line in those days!
Shunting a Ballybrophy. Amazing.
Indeed it used to be a great place for shunting, as a lot of the Limerick traffic was exchanged with those on the Cork main line.
Great video.. great variety of freight and locos.. pity it's not like that today🙈

I was thinking it was him.
