Great introduction, loved it. Have never seen winds of change look so good - an amazing turn. So why don't you like the card tranquility? It gets rid of a lot of problems like moat, the abyss, blood moon etc., I think it is fine. There aren't many ways to get rid of enchantments in Old School, and tranquility is one of them, so I don't see why you don't like it. Also are we going back to Farmstead 11 at the end of the Jumping Jesus tournament? I'm enjoying the Jumping Jesus ones a lot, but was just wondering.
Thanks for the great questions regarding Tranquility. Of course, it depends on which deck you play. If you have many cards that can be sided out. I often feel people take tranquility in when the opponent has 1-2 abyss. I strongly dislike taking in 2 cards that can take out 2 cards of the opponent. The opponent must draw it, play it, and it must affect the game. If all this happens then I have to draw tranquility to save yourself. Then I would rather have a more flexible answer, like another counterspell. If the opponent has multiple enchantments. Let's say 2 abyss and 4 underworld dreams. Then I like tranquility. Against blood moon/flux I like better blue/red blast. Farmstead 11 unfortunately came a bit in the shadow of Jumping Jesus. In the meantime, we have had Farmstead 12. which I will start posting afterwards. Nice to see you watching closely. I'm impressed :)
We will have to differ on tranquility then - I always include a couple if my deck plays green, and I bring them in quite frequently. The thing I find is that the enchantments you need to answer are so powerful, and can shut your deck down completely - things like drop of honey or the abyss when you are playing a creature deck. I agree that countering them in the first place is better, if you can do that. There aren't many unconditional answers to enchantments (disenchant, disk, chaos orb and tranquility are the only ones, I think). Others depend on the colour like blue / red blasts, or the expansion like city in a bottle. So my final feeling is that it is a useful card, and you have to bring it in sometimes. Looks like we are going to miss Farmstead 11 then, which is a pity. I like the variety of decks in your Farmstead tournaments, and that people try different decks for a change, and also that they are not all fully powered (because I don't have power myself). Looking forward to farmstead 12. How often do you run your Farmstead tournaments?
