Stunning views, looks like so much fun! I'm curious, why does it look like nobody was using the feature to lock the inside rear wheel to make tighter turns around the switchbacks?
Nice the 200 Series Run for the Hills? IH8MUD group? I went with a handful of guys in our Land Cruiser club and ran it in my 2013 DBLCB Taco at the time. Had an awesome time on the Ouray trails, I'm building a 200 now and would like to go back and do it in it.
Hi Larry, yes, this is a Mud group. We meet up once a year in that area. Next one is the last week of July if you are interested. 200 forum for details. Great to see you there!
In theory they could do it with proper tires, in practice you have less room for error and much greater chance of breakdown. Repeatability is the biggest issue, Land Cruiser can do this trail many many times with out issue. Not sure about the oversized urban limos though.
Pft. That’s not difficult. Dangerous as hell but not difficult. I’m sure a Tahoe or Expedition can do JR. Why even compare it to an Escalade? Might as well make the comparison to a Mustang? Give me a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Purpose built for off-road, rather than to drop the kids off at school.
Scott Watson actually Dana 44 on both axles, but whatever makes you feel better about your IFS. Also I’m not a Yank. Born in England, grew up in Australia. I have wheeled Toyotas in Australia. Overhyped by people who drive on gravel or flat dirt roads. You call it extreme because you haven’t done anything extreme in your life. Try to find another invalid generalization to try to invalidate my argument in your mind though.
Съемка супер. Все классно сделано. У меня новый 2016 года буду пробовать что то подобное. Фоновая музыка очень классная . Не могу найти кто играет. Кто исполнитель? Если не сложно напишите. Спасибо.
We did, at least one. It was heavily modified with 35's. Slee Offroad built it. Fact is that they are pretty much exactly the same truck with just a few differences related to the AHC which impacts the ability to mod in some ways.
Hi, thanks!. We can buy LC's in the US. They've been sold here forever. We don't get all of the options that are sold elsewhere, like the 70 series or diesel options, but you can buy 200 series at any dealership. Built in Japan of course so imported from there.
epiccheese911 i see .. thanks for the info .. still i love that v8 diesel engine .. still my dream suv the only thing i dont like is its only in manuall tranny .. peace from phillippines ...
Thanks for the quick reply. I have a 200 and want to run with 2 spares. I know you can hang 2 off the back with the ARB bumper, but would like to have one under (factory location) and one on the back. Do you know if you can still fit it under if you put the ARB bumper on it?
No problem and congrats on the 200. Great trucks! visit www.ih8mud.com and you'll get the answer to every question you might have on these trucks or any Land Cruiser for that matter. The ARB doesn't interfere with the stock location at all so no problem there. The limiting factor is what size tire you want to stuff under there. 33's fit, 35's don't.
That trail is one way only. Once in a while they'll open it up to drive up from Telluride but normally it's a one way trip from Ouray to Telluride only going down the switchbacks. It is a great trail with unbelievable views.
It is a one-way road with one day a year that they do a reverse run up the mountain. I have not done it in reverse. Very doable though. Not really a tough trail but a mistake is deadly.
nice movie.. I have a 150 Prado. do you honestly think I should upgrade to a 200? so far I've managed to do similar conditions (estate trails) and jungle treks without any issues here in Sri Lanka (although I keep away from rivers!). In other words, have any of your Prado friends have trouble when you've sailed through?
Our version of the Prado in the US is the LX. They are very capable as you know. I think the biggest difference other than size is just the overbuilt nature of the 200 vs. the Prado. You are far less likely to break something on the 200. Bigger axles, larger CV's, more undercarriage protection etc... Then there is the 5.7 engine (at least here in the US) that is bulletproof though the engines in the Prado's are nice too, and outside the US you have diesel options that we drool over.
You should have no problem with that. I'd be most concerned with your running boards than anything. May want to take them off at least for the trip, but even if you leave them on, just be careful or get a spotter in any areas that are close. Have fun!
Great big Country and very well maintained no Challeng Road for any Suv two Whell with Propert Tires at right psi ,all the Same. Now is the Landcruisers pulse up not even above sleeping pulse. .
I appreciate the video but don't understand the point of that drive. It was neither overly difficult nor was there a destination Point like a lake. Most important thing is everybody got home safe thank you for the video.
Rxonmymind not sure if you've been to this part of the world but the beauty of the journey traveling through the Rockies is why we drive that trail in addition to the fact that the destination is telluride Colorado. It's a one way trail. In that area there are many similar trails linked that cross passes at 13k ft. It is spectacular.
Not sure if you've actually driven BB, but for those of you that haven't, it is not a challenging trail, even in the rain. It is not forgiving if you do something stupid though. If you have any fear, or lack of experience driving off-road, I'd avoid BB until you gain the confidence and skills you need. BB doesn't take much skill, but does require confidence. Panicky moves can kill you.
This is the most boring Black Bear Pass video I've seen! Don't get me wrong. Boring is good in this case. I'm now convinced that my overland vehicle build will be a 200 series Land Cruiser.
Good to see other platforms and skilled drivers out there. Thanks for the video.
Marvellous video! Superb driving. Beautiful yet dangerous terrain. Nicely done. Toyota rocks
My "03 sequoia 4x4 worked just fine on all terrain. Love Toyota family!

Thank you for taking us on the journey with you.
Awesome video man. Very cool to see the 200 series on Black Bear.
I really enjoyed these beautiful scenery
The Land cruiser is just so flexible...
G wagon and rangerover left the chat.
nice vedio nice place nice car
Christo Slee as your spotter = priceless
Great trip. Beautyful landscapes. Congratulations.
Nice videos bro and good job woohoo good..
Wow brother wow your video made my heart happy
Those guys made it look easy! !
the most luxury of suv world 😍 freaking amazing!!! nice looking too
Nicely done, slippery in the wet. Had the LC gone off the cliff, it would have flattened more trees than the Tunguska event.
I'm thinking of bringing my '02 Sequoia up there next year. Good to see bigger-than-Jeeps can make it through the hairpins.
You'd have no problem with a Sequoia. Maybe a 4 point turn becomes a 5 point but who cares LOL.
That was amazing, I would love to go there some day, but Im 4k miles away from Blackbear Pass
well iam on the other side of the world, assuming this is in the us
@@JerenKanava Yeah this is in the state of Colorado.
02:00 music is the best
Stunning views, looks like so much fun! I'm curious, why does it look like nobody was using the feature to lock the inside rear wheel to make tighter turns around the switchbacks?
That feature was added in '12 or '13 so most of these trucks didn't have it when this was filmed.
So it's possible to get an LX570 down there!
Great stuff mad to watch
continuation of this tour will be?

Awesome, I'm Volunteer in the forum
steenh here... join us in Telluride, and a couple of us are doing HITR right before the event.
Majestic, I love it.
Lets see a Cadillac Escalade and a Ford Expedition tackle rhis terrain!
Daryll Jackson they have to make it to the pass first lol.

Bloody hell, Toyota fanboys are about as bad as Chevy fanboys.
Excellent video and superb suv's
Thanks! Beautiful place.

Hi - nice video! how can one joint your LC club. Is there a website?
Thanks. There is. go to www.ih8mud.com and then to the forum section. There is a 200 Series area where you'll find all of us. See you there!
Stock Land Cruiser in front of the black one?! Wow...
Vol deMort It isn’t a particularly hard trail. It just has large penalties for not paying attention.
Do you need some help with Warp Stabilizer?
Great video - have you had any LX570s tag along? Just curious...
We did, at least one. It was heavily modified with 35's. Slee Offroad built it. Fact is that they are pretty much exactly the same truck with just a few differences related to the AHC which impacts the ability to mod in some ways.
I would love to tag along with my 2016 lx570, if I’m invited. Nice video!
Hey, amazing video! I was just wondering how do you guys (USA) get any pre 2016 Land Cruiser? From which country are they imported? Thanks
Hi, thanks!. We can buy LC's in the US. They've been sold here forever. We don't get all of the options that are sold elsewhere, like the 70 series or diesel options, but you can buy 200 series at any dealership. Built in Japan of course so imported from there.
Steen Henninger oh, I never knew you could get the 200 before the 2016 facelift. Anyways thanks alot
so the lc200's in the U.S. are not the 4.5 v8 kd diesel engines ?
ba ecchi No, the US has only one trim for the Land Cruiser, the 5.7 V8 they're similar to the VX.S/VX.R/ZX trims available in Asia
epiccheese911 i see .. thanks for the info .. still i love that v8 diesel engine .. still my dream suv the only thing i dont like is its only in manuall tranny .. peace from phillippines ...
where is it? it's gorgeous. :)
its in southern Colorado. thanks
Nice video. In the beginning there is a black LC with tire carrier and jerry can. Is that an ARB set up?
it is

BEATIFULL
That's a nice way! It is enviable because there are not many unpaved roads with such dynamic scenery in Japan.
Is this a one-way designated road?
It is a one-way road with one day a year that they do a reverse run up the mountain. I have not done it in reverse. Very doable though. Not really a tough trail but a mistake is deadly.
Thank you for your response. Nature is beautiful but there are lots of danger. Please take care. Thank you very cool movie!

nice I'm sorry SUPER NICE i just boost a 2018 LC
is there a way to turn off youtube stabilization? It's making a good video kinda hard to watch.
Not that I'm aware of, but I'll keep that in mind for the next one. It was a choice I made when I uploaded.
Cool stuff though. I love seeing those big ladies dance
Were any of the lc200s stock without a lift? I am thinking about running this pass in August in my 2017 no lift with KO2s
You should have no problem with that. I'd be most concerned with your running boards than anything. May want to take them off at least for the trip, but even if you leave them on, just be careful or get a spotter in any areas that are close. Have fun!
Yep. You don't need a lift for BB. Sliders would be a very nice to have accessory. Pull your running boards at least.
Крузак вещь!!!
that's it, after my 4runner, i'm getting a Land Cruiser
I sure wouldn't steer you away from that smart move :)
Where is this location 😍
It is in the San Juan mountains in southern Colorado. Near Telluride
Thanks 🙏🏼
We have these roads in yemen. Great video btw

thats not offroad. i would drive that track with my VW up !
I look forward to seeing the video of that.
Off Road in my Country. Peru. ua-cam.com/video/ueYa82HYRL8/v-deo.html
Nice video. We have spots just like that on the east coast. Would like to join you in Peru one day!
My CR V can do this too
Alexander SHE I can only say “in your dreams “
Thanks for the constructive comment. "can do" and "have done" are two different things. Looking forward to your video with the CRV.
Nope. Not a chance and we had our 2015 and CRV a few places but it’s NOT going to do that..
Not too much intrusting
