Let me share my experience. I was an international student of Florida state university where I met a couple of Pakistani international students as well. We had an international coffee hour session including all students of other countries. There was a day when a Spanish person asked about Pakistan and Bangladesh history. That time, a Pakistani student was explaining 1971 war as a civil war. I intervained and argued that it was not any civil war rather a full fledged war which was the results of Pakistani rulers mistreatment to Bangladeshis. He was reluctant to agree upon that. He was rather stubborn on civil war where there was not enough reason to get into the war. From that day, I am very skeptical about Pakistani new generations as well.

Problem with Pakistan is, Very small percent of the population understands their leaders mistreatment of Bengali people. Rest of them are whitewashed by the biased history education they were taught. Few would explore beyond the books for the real stories, some politicians who have known this were actively suppressed by the army / national leadership. Mushraraf was the only Pakistani army general who was tried in a court, sometimes I think Army did not oppose it because of his pro Bangladeshi stance. Same goes for Imran Khan.
