Cool kit looks great came over from Bluegrass Bushcraft I need to make one of those stoves. Chris Stone gave me a little pan like that I've got a little stick stove that would work great as a wind break for a set-up like that
Hey thanks for watching! It’s amazing what a little fire can do! I really appreciate you watching the boring parts. I love my cold handle! Thanks for letting me know you watched!!
I was sure I responded to your comment yesterday but the app says I haven’t!! Oh well one commenter referenced a stove, a Kojin, www.adventurealan.com/trail-designs-kojin-ultralight-alcohol-stove-review/. Pretty close, but I don’t get paid for mine!! Thanks for watching Dean!!!😀
Them fried biscuits looked amazing! I love the tiny cookset, and the repurpose of your fire dust tin was a great idea. Very nice little meal and coffee! Thanks for showing us too, that it doesn't take much in order to get things accomplished. Really enjoyed this one Mike!
I know I commented on your Cumberland video but was sure I had this one too. Any way, thanks for watching. That was fun using that little burner to make coffee. I love fresh bread with my meals and using that mix works out pretty well. “ Oh Noooo!” I still laugh about that. Thanks for a good memory !
I have an alcohol wick candle, but never thought to cook on it - it doesn't throw alot of light, and is pretty tippy, so haven't used it other than testing, needs a gasket to stop leaking. I'll have to retest it 👍 That other alcohol stove looks like the trail designs kojin, but the kojin is leakproof, even burning & inverted, no alcohol comes out! It's on my wishlist 😁
Mike, You have inspired me to look at building my own microw stove. Ive got several cold handle pan. I have found many good items at thrift stores an antique stores.
Wonderful setup.. I love that Out D pot stand and stove. I actually converted mine for tiny triangle along with modified triangle plate to hold esbit tabs and fit inside my 300ml stainless steel mug. That tiny alcohol stove is a great compliment for my setup. Thanks
Honestly, seeing as I'm an avid coffee drinker, drinking 3 cups a day, this would be excellent to have. Instant coffee and regular coffee have different levels of caffeine. Instant coffee does not have the same effect as regular coffee so I would prefer regular coffee over instant coffee when camping. I'm going to get one too
I started enjoying individual Coffee Pod Filter Packs!! Like Cowboy Coffee without the cleanup. I show some in my video on Sunday morning. I really appreciate you watching! Thanks again!

Nice little pan 👍. Look for a can of food that the can is just a little bigger or smaller than the coffee pot or cup, so one will fit inside the other. Cut the top and bottom out of the can , drill a few air holes and use for a windscreen for your stove.
I sure look forward to your comments! Thank you so much! It was a good Father’s Day! Kids came over, I got to cook on the grill, Bacon, Cheese burger sliders, and homemade peach ice cream! Even got some grandbaby love.. Thank you Miss Donna!!

If you do some research on Cold handle Fry Pans they are well over 100 years old and once seasoned work as well today as they did for families Way Back In The Day, I'm one when I see a dilapidated old barn by the side of the road say to myself, "If only that barn could tell me it's story, who bult it, how long did it take, what humans and or animals did it provide shelter for," the same goes for your Cold Handle Fry Pan (s), who used them back on the day, what was cooked in them providing nourishment and joy to it's users for it's many decades of life in someone's cabin kitchen, etc. Be & Stay Well my friend.
So true. Some “cold handle “ type pans where made in the early 1900s. No makers mark don’t help much. I have my mother’s cast iron pan that she got from her mother. I still cook in it.
Great show as usual Mike!👍🏻😎 I do have a couple questions. What does the steel wool do? Absorb the fuel and produce more heat? I will have to try that. I've made a few similar stoves , but used Perlite pellets. They are small pellets that you use to fill flowe pots. A bag will last you a life time and inexpensive. My other question is what size pan is that? And would you be interested in a small one if i have one? I picked up a couple and thought of you. That was a dandy looking lunch.
Thanks Chris! As far as I can figure the only thing the steel wool does is creat a baffle holding the fuel in. I tried pouring it out at about 40 degrees it wouldn’t run out. I make similar can stoves using D25T tins, cotton and stainless mesh, Ive been meaning to9 do a video on it and the small cook kit I assembled around it.. those biscuits looked really good! Corporals corner uses the same type of frying pan and I think he has some for sale
Would love to see your cook kit. I have been trying for years to come up with an easy way to carry and have fresh bread for extended stays on the trail. The jiffy biscuit mix seems about the best solution for me and instead of trying to bake it just pan fry it. Less to carry! Get you one of those pans , I love mine. Thanks for watching and commenting.
You can put it out anytime but you’ll have to store the remaining fuel in another container. That one leaks on it’s side. It needs another O ring in the top cap to seal up. Of course, I have 3 other stoves that are full sized like the Trangia and they leak to! Not even designed not to leak. It seems that the one that cost the least, works the best. Is there a video on your homemade stove
Working on it!!
I got one of those candles. I couldn't get it to work. I wonder if the wick is rubbish and needs to be replaced
The wick probably is rubbish. I don’t like the one in mine. I have since changed mine to a stove and like that more. I’ll be posting that video later on.

Holds about 1/2 oz.

It was one cup of water to which I add 2 oz to cool off. Fills my 10 oz insulated mug. 😀
