But the apostle pray and also cast lot when finding a replacement for Judas...What makes it bad to cast vote in church when the people have prayed?. In uni days i remember voting for the person i did not plan to vote for after prayers. Just before d voting started i heard God clearly said to me this is who i want and i obeyed straight up. God may decide to intervene by selection that does not mean if u cast vote is holyspirit bankruptcy. I disagree. My take.
The cast lots because they had not received the holy spirit. To prove that God did not lead them in that direction, they never selected anybody after the day of pentecost by casting lots again. It was always the holy spirit that did it for them subsequently. God does not rule through a democracy.
