Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), (Egon Spengler) Harold Ramis, and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) take up their proton packs once more to battle the forces of evil in Manhattan! @@strivetoglory1988 oh heck yeah! He is so freaking talented. I was so happy he had a bigger role in the second one. I honestly loved both of these movies equally, I don’t understand why people dis it. The villain dude in the second one used to give me nightmares lol.
The dynamic changed from the first and second one..the first one to me had more of a darker, satanic feeling as opposed to the second one where I feel they focused on the comedy more.

Ray is my favorite because akroyd really IS Ray.That childlike wonder and enthusiasm for the paranormal is totally genuine. He's a total nerd for this stuff. And it shows.

I liked the second movie too. Is it as great as the first? No, but that does not mean it was a bad movie.

@@SQUIDWORD15 actually they didn't , remember that peck was the one who got the court order to have them shut down the containment unit which is how all of the ghosts got loose. the hotel which is the portal that gozer comes from pulls in supernatural energy which is how it was summoned so technically it was all Walter Peck's fault because he is an idiot and he didn't listen to the Ghostbusters when they told him not to shut it down.
@@SQUIDWORD15 No, they didn't. Gozer was summoned by Ivo Shandor and his cultists before the events of the film. Ray simply chose the form in which Gozer would manifest on Earth.
The ironic thing is He-Man toys were completely dead in 1989. Ghostbusters toys had actually been outselling them by a long shot. But Ninja Turtles would come out that year and put an end to Ghostbusters' reign.
Even when I saw this in the theatre, I was puzzled by the He-man reference. I would have though TMNT would be used like you said.

I think it’s funny how Ghostbusters 2 changed a lot of stuff to make it more appealing to younger audiences due to The Real Ghostbusters, but somehow they also made it a lot scarier than the first one. The scene in the abandoned railroad with the decapitated heads probably scared the crap out of children
@@Jakedman21 As a kid, I was terrified by Janosh when he kidnapped Oscar from the window ledge. I was afraid to sleep too close to my window for a long time. The railway scene was scary, too (I REALLY wanted them to go get their proton packs, like Winston kept saying)... but it didn't linger like that window ledge part.
But yeah... the first Ghostbusters didn't scare me at all.

It's just odd that everyone seems to forget everything that happened in the first movie
Forget? No. Rationalize, yes. They were basically scapegoated by the city, and probably still have a lot of people who adore them. But probably only the people who witnessed the events first hand. Everyone else was probably told a load of bull about how they created a fake crisis and then "solved it" using the methods that Peck blamed them for.
Consider real life... a lot of people have (sometimes) very compelling stories of encounters with the supernatural. But they are dismissed as fantasy by anyone who hasn't experience said events themselves. That could be because "they're full of crap." But can we really be sure?
I will grant that nobody has footage of a 100 foot marshmallow man attacking the city. But I think people could still find a way to rationalize that, too.
Is that Brian Doyle Murray? He was the “mayor” in the Ghostbusters video game released in 2009. Why did the people who made the said video game use his likeness as opposed to David Marguiles?
