for all u guys in the comments:
just remember the goal of each drill and what he does
then see how he improves in time
like watch backpedal and find the short hop
that is a very hard reading drill by its self, but he does clearly get better at it as time goes on
doesnt matter how good he is now, it matters if he keeps on improving consistently

I really enjoyed this video. Seeing the training methods and the coach’s thoughts at the end of different cultural differences in baseball were really interesting. It would be great to see more videos featuring players outside the US!
Also, what was the coach’s name? Would love to give him a follow!

wish they taught us american players to be silky smooth at a young age instead of just lobbing it to first

Agreed. My son learned to field from his Puerto Rican coach. He taught him to be soft with his hands and footwork even at third. Very different than his travel ball coach who teaches differently.

nope, you havent seen the 1000s of professional minor league infielders in America. You should watch their videos as well before assuming this. They also have to execute in game than in practice.

There are a few kids on my son's team here in Asahikawa (Hokkaido) that are just as good. This kid is talented but in Japan, this is the norm. tbh. My son's team practices 6 days a week, and 6 hrs a day on Sat/Sun. Even if they have a game they practice before and after. Agree with the strictness point, it's almost like military-style in the way the (監督) director/head coach runs the team practices. but the kids love playing baseball here.
