I love how people think Citroen are so unreliable. Things do go wrong but no more than any other make including the top three German brands . They all go wrong .

A friend of mine who used to buy and resells C5s for profit once told me this: "With C6 you will be happy exactly 2 times - right after you buy one and once you finally get rid of it." This model can be owned only as a project car. You need to find a mechanic that more or less works with this particular model only. No one else will want to touch it or if they touch it they will probably cause more harm than good. Another option - own a garage, buy all the necessary tools and manuals and do all the maintenance and repairs yourself. Diesel V6 in these is an absolute garbage. For some reason they are still putting it in new cars, another friend of mine works in a Jaguar/Land Rover dealership and some of the customers come for a 3rd complete engine replacement (low mileage, still under standard warranty).

You owned one? I had two of these nice Ladies for about 200.000 Kilometers. The badest thing about these cars are the people talking trash, but never owned one.

Had a 2007 2.7 Lignage. The best car I have owned but the most unreliable. Shockingly unreliable.

    Greetings from Bulgaria!
The 2.7HDi is very hard to maintain and I suppose you are very familiar with the fame of the Diesel engines (except the 2.2)
If not, visit the channel "It's LR Time" And look up the videos for the 2.7HDi.
Always always replace the engine oil at 6000-8000KM no more. This engine is very very pretentious and the oil needs to be quality one.
Myself.. I'm currently organising a trip to Spain so I can pick up a Petrol V6 C6.

I mean yeah, its a citroen, thats part of the package when you buy it
    French engineering at its best

Honestly, the whole engine bay is from Ford, Jaguar and Land Rover. So there's not much french engineering here, apart from the emblem on the hood.

I had a 2.7 HDI one, main issues were related with the cooling system (everything that was plastic broke, including the radiator top, changed the thermostat 3 times I think). Also had to change the torque converter, probably related to the "lifetime" oil of the gearbox that eventually Citroën started to change every 60.000km...

Ensure to replace the one coolant duct that corrodes and explodes (6466HA), leaving the engine in seconds without coolant enough and killing it quickly, change/renew the automatic transmission oil (there aren't eternal oils, they dont exist), and renew the suspension cilinders (especially the front ones, where most of the weight is). Suspension cilinders on the first C6ses (2005-2007) are known to collapse in all of a sudden. If you are driving fast, this is dangerous; if not, a transmission axle can be forced out of the gearbox and empty the gearbox of its oil pretty quickly, aka destroys it. The V6 diesel engines are delicate. Don't change oil later than 1 year or 10.000 km. Don't use too thin oil unless tempereatures are in average below 5°C. The C6 can be very reliable BUT only if you attack its weak points actively before they happen AND if your mechanic is a very professional, patient and intelectually hard working person open to learn.

I own one of them and it's an absolute pleasure to drive it I think you just bought the wrong model because the first wasn't ready for release and I admit it

Hello. I had a similar problem. 6466.Y1 is the catalog number of this spare part for 3.0 gasoline. I waited for 2 weeks (delivery from France to Ukraine). I would really like to see your mechanic's decision (preferably a photo).

Hi! I think that the clicking soud from the gear lever is the locking system doing its job. When you touch the brake pedal when stationary it unlocks the lever.
