      I thought this was a great debate. Shane, Madea and Alexander really shone a light on the outright lies, craziness and misinformation propagated by the trans community. Add to that the absolute ugliness, bitterness, self-righteousness and dishonesty of their behavior hammered the point home. No one supports this ideology. I'm also glad to see trans-identified women finally admitting that binding is dangerous. Corsetry was something women literally fought to get rid of.

      Agreed, Buck. It absolutely floored me when Blaire mentioned the video of some guy exposing a boner in the ladies room, and Blossom pretty much defended the behavior, (to paraphrase; "mind your own business...")!?! I remember when support groups had meetings specifically dedicated to comportment, and the importance of that can't be emphasized enough.
      Someone who might not pass perfectly can behave in a ladylike manner, and be welcomed into more spaces than someone who looks perfect and behaves like a creep.
      And the liberals alway a seem to gloss over the fact that people who are not even "trans" find loopholes in the current rules to gain access to victims. Aren't peeping toms considered predators? Isn't flashing considered 3rd degree sexual assault, (or something like that)? Has it not been shown by criminal profilers that many r@pists start out as flashers and peeping toms? Does anyone actually believe that Ted Bundy would have hesitated to throw on a skirt, to gain easier access to victims, with today's rules? I don't.

      I’m surprised nobody mentioned being on puberty blockers then going to hormone therapy. Not one person on the panel discussed the importance of why puberty is a necessary for human brain development. People putting physically healthy children on hormone blockers is essentially stopping the proper growth of brain structures like the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and amygdala. That is cruel and unfair to the adult they might become with a natural and necessary part of human development.
      I’m also thinking of the future for trans kids. I am all for trans people getting married, having a family, and a place on our society. If trans kids are on puberty blockers, then go straight to hormone therapy, that’s for the most part sterilizing kids. I’m against sterilizing kids. None of those children are being asked if they want kids in the future? Why are we putting that much fucking responsibility on children? Are they aware that if they go down that process there is a high chance they can never biologically have one.

    Its OK to be a woman who lives in a mans world..... Shout out to all the tomboys who are unsure right now.... I had short hair, always played with the boys, then trained as a mechanic and wound up on a construction site, covered in dirt all day.
    I never cared what I should be doing, as a woman. It never entered my head to consider my gender in any way, actually. I was just me. And guess what? Being different is hard as a teen, but it makes you exceptional as an adult.
    Just be yourself, whoever that is.

      So did I! I spent my entire childhood on dirt bikes, mud puddles, and football in my backyard. If I was a child growing up now and loved the same things, I might be considered a trans that wanted to be a male. I never wanted to be a boy... ever. As an adult now, I still love those things, but I love being a woman. I would never forgive my parents if they allowed me to transition as a child.

My dad being an amateur race car driver taught me how much I love fast cars. However, looking back, I just see myself as an authentic country girl. I'm very outwardly feminine now. I love doing my hair, makeup and wearing sexy outfits for myself and my husband. However I can still throw on some gear and go hunting or fishing happily 😅 I'm me and I don't care to worry about identifying with anything other than Candy ❤

      I think there are too many people who mindlessly follow whatever "leaders" of their camp spew. The most homophobic things I've heard in the last 4 years have actually come from non-binary activist types. All the while they were pretending to speak for the gay community. If you didn't hear it from a gay man or lesbian, it's probably crap. They talk about how "we" feel about complex issues. That's the thing, we all have our own ideas. AND THAT'S WHAT WE FOUGHT FOR! The right to not have to agree or conform. Extremists cannot tolerate any difference of opinion. And that is NOT liberal.

    • @samhand8270
      @samhand8270 Рік тому +18

      Isn’t it odd that so many comments on this video are people qualifying their agreement with Blaire with “but I’m not conservative”. Why are we playing into the idea that you’re either in this camp or that camp, that every opinion you have has to align with your camp and that any dissent has to be rationalized to ensure that no one confuses you with “the other side”. What does acknowledging the reality of biological sex have to do with being liberal? These political categories are totally arbitrary and people’s misguided loyalty to them only prevents them from thinking critically about specific issues, presumably because it’s already been decided by groupthink and partisan opposition. I know it’s a cliche to say “think for yourself” but why should my party, my skin color, my sexual orientation, or my social group dictate what set of facts about the world I’m allowed to contemplate? While we’re debating categories that do actually matter, like biological sex, let’s get rid of the categories that really are socially constructed and just keep people too preoccupied with their group loyalty to think clearly about important issues.

She was a girl and so a girl was whatever she was. I wouldn't change a thing about her. She was afraid of puberty and I tried my best to reassure her - that it doesn't happen overnight and she would be perfect ,no matter what, because she was an amazing person who strove to be kind. She was the person who stood up for the outcasts always. She turned out to be a beautiful woman, who embraced her femininity in her own way. An armed robber took her from us at age 31. Shane attacking Blaire’s career was a diversion tactic, he couldn’t articulate an argument to what Blaire was saying so had to go off topic. Blossom was just vile, plain and simple. The fact that she uses her race as to go to trump card is always the tactic these people use, like Shane when they can’t articulate an argument. Blossom seems to think that because she’s black, that this makes her some sort of moral authority, it’s always used to shut people down. It baffles me as to why Alexander was there, he couldn’t even answer a simple question when asked “what is your dysphoria” this alone gives the impression that being trans to him is an aesthetic.

      Shane is a dullard. Also, Blaire could have turned around and asked him to clarify his point as it sounded like he was insinuating that only those who work for non-profits are entitled to opine on certain issues & if that is the case what are the thresholds & criteria that allow you such & how is it decided? Or is it just an arbitrary figure based on an estimate of how many people Shane supposedly has helped, which is completely narcissistic. He’s such a self-righteous bore, obviously working in non profit not to help folk but just so he can weaponise it to seemingly try and give his opinions extra credence to make up for the staggering lack or charisma.

    By 2012, i had changed my party affiliation to Libertarian, and was called a "far right-winger," and a homophobe, even though the far right-wingers still call me a "snowflake."

      I think something that gets overlooked is that a non binary person like we saw in the "debate" can go home, wash their face, change their clothes--- and it's like nothing ever changed, nothing happened.
      On Monday they can be decked out to the nines and claiming all the persecution-- but on Wednesday it's back to their jeans and tee shirt for blending in with the crowd and not getting a second look.
      Medical transitioners cannot do that. They can't wash it off or change their clothes to "go back" and I think that's part of Blaire's concern, that being Trans isn't a costume they can take off and put away.
      Blaire cannot go home, wash off the lip gloss, and become Robert again. Sarah can't get a buzz cut and be a man again. Sasha had top surgery; can't undo that.
      But the earrings can be taken off, the lipstick can be washed off, the pantsuit can go back in the closet-- and nobody is going to second guess that they're looking at a man.
      Something that doesn't seem to be brought up and discussed, without people getting in their feelings off top, is that people are using Transition like a costume.

    It’s reassuring at least that most the comments below the video on Jubilee’s channel are in support of Blaire, Sara, Andrew and Jessica, and are calling out the bias toward the liberals and their lack of logic. I’m generally a left-leaning person politically, but I’m on the conservative side over gender issues (I agree with you, Blaire, and Marcus). I truly feel as though the conservatives in this debate were voicing what the majority believe, but can’t express online without getting bullied

    As I've had to explain to my 17 year old sister - non binary implies that you do not identify as either of the binary genders. But to be a trans person, that means you have to transition from one gender to another. That also means that you have to acknowledge that you are of one binary gender, transitioning to another binary gender. You can't just claim to be a non binary person and then say you are also trans as well. It doesn't work like that.

    • @glassmuncher247
      @glassmuncher247 Рік тому +3

      trans just means to identify with a gender other than the one you were born with, and identifying with without gender, is definitely not "still identifying with the gender you were assigned at birth. (also I know that non-binary is a lot more than just agender people, im just using an example, but it pretty much applies to most of the non-binary identities) also its really sad to see you passing these conservative beliefs on to ur sister :(

      @@glassmuncher247I am not conservative at all but in this case it's not a matter of political side, it's a matter of logic. It's not fair for the reasons stated in the video to have non binary people in the same category as transsexual people and I don't think it's necessary to explain why. Many things the liberals said were disconnected from reality. Also speaking of non binary in gender, you can also be non binary in politics for some things right? You don't need to always fit in boxes and labels, this goes for politics as well. Using critical thinking after listening to different opinions on a matter and forming your own is what makes you grow as a person. It's not always black and white, there's nuance in life.

    Here's my thoughts on the whole "non-binary" thing: As a GenXer (and Buck, I know you're at least 10 years older than me, so maybe you'll know what I'm talking about), men in makeup and androgynous women especially in media was nothing new. We had David Bowie, Boy George, Annie Lennox, Grace Jones... These people never called themselves anything like "non-binary". IMO the non-binary people are those who are following a trend - like the hippies, punks, goths before them - which is why "transtrender" is such an appropriate term! The only difference is that the past trendy counterculture groups that stuck out were just products of music, entertainment etc., and this trend of being "trans trend" (fad???) - piggybacking off of what they think is the cool and anti-establishment thing to do - is more dangerous because it can lead to medical risks. Other than that, Alexander, in my opinion, is no different than Boy George. So yes: completely different from a transsexual! Buck, you rock!

Even when it wasn’t as common whenever you looked at the topic there were safety warnings about materials and time spent that warned what wasn’t safe on the body, a primary example being ace bandages because they continue to tighten while being worn. I unsubscribed to Jubilee because this is the third debate (I’ve seen) where they were toxic towards people representing conservatives. Even as a liberal myself, I respected how those on the conservative side spoke mostly facts versus how the liberals spoke about their personal feelings.
