Note that we get the special colony colors version as well, which got like ten seconds of airtime.
It would have been a P-Bandai at best today but was a regular release then.
I have the green version leading a pair of Zaku II.

This is the high grade kit with best color separation I’ve ever seen. Most of the thrusters already have red coloring.
I remember I used to have both the Desert Tropen and the Rick Dom II , I solidly agree wiith your recommendation, Hopefully we get RDs or HG Revives of these two.
I've been considering to pick this up but I wasn't sure if it would be all that good and theres a major lack of reviews, but I'm glad it turned out pretty good
I've only got the classic 0079 HG Dom and amazing Dom Test Type. Really been considering getting the rest of the Doms, and after this review, I'm totally sold on this guy! Now, to get THIS, or the Colony Colored one (AKA a Dom if it accidentally went into the factory on "Zaku II Painting Day").

I had to pay a ton of extra cash to get that Colony Color one; Bandai doesn't seem to like reprinting that kit.
It's definitely worth it though, without question.

i have this kit & i quite like it. the thing i don't really like is the shoulder armor which is just slides in without any pegs or connector parts

even with the chunky legs its slimmed down enough that it looks like it could actually walk without tripping on itself. very cool!
I think the only way they could attempt to top this and the Tropen is with a Revive but the original is so plain that I'm not sure if new joints and better colors would be enough.
Is it just me, or does the Rick Dom II look a bit leaner than Char's Rick Dom and the Dom Tropen?
I also remember seeing this MS in the ladder half of 0083. They were used as Gato's escort. I might get 2 of them to go with my GP02A.

OMG I didn't realize that I have this kit. I thought that it was just a better/newer Dom kit cause I bought it in a bundle, extremely cheap and I wanted the other kits. it was pre built but I thought that I finally found a Dom that I actually like from 0079 Mobile Suit Gundam but I guess I still don't like the looks of the 1st gen Dom or Rick Dom. it's fast and I want to like it but this is the more appealing look that I like. at least I still have a Dom in my collection.

the backpack looks nice but the legs looks bad, might just get this for the backpack alone for a custom unit

My box of the hg METEOR from Gundam Seed fell on this and it break the dom's leg
My Rick Dom II broke down on me :( the knee joints are weak so it broke the plastic
Kakarot do you prefer the movable trigger finger(like this one) or the non moving ones(the ones on regular HG)?
I prefer this type of hand. the trigger finger pretty much locks guns in place so you get no wiggly guns.
I think what we really need is a HG revive Bazoo. Probably around 5,000¥.
A nice kit, even if, like you, I think the Dom Tropen wins out. Still, for 1500 yen, this is a steal. I guess the original Dom still makes a good case for itself due to having the beam cannon, something the other two don't get, but I am not the biggest fan of that weapon, so I don't mind not having it.

You can't go wrong with any HG Dom kit. Except maybe the HGBF Dom R35.
areasevenpro dom R35 isn't that bad....
Compared to the other Dom kits, it's underwhelming. If you watch Type V3's review, you'll see how loose the joints are.

As a Gundam, however... Shino missing Rustal's spaceship was the point where the script crashed under the seafloor.

I did not like this kit. Posability is not good. Can't stand properly when the legs are spread apart.

Screw a Revive, I'd want an Origin Dom/Rick Dom. The Test Type is amazing, having a classic Dom in that style would be awesome.
Maybe just throw in some hands to make the old HG Dom actually capable of holding its weapons without the hands falling apart though?
Is there a differences between the regular Dom and the origin version? I thought there look the same?

I'd assume an HG Dom Origin would have different proportions, slightly different shades of color, and more detail than the 0079 Dom.
Waiting for a revive dom tropen/Alex x). But well, if you strenghten the dom R35's joints, you technicly have a revive in your hands. Planning to make a dom high mobility from it myself, combine accessories from other kits, paint, and there you go..
