Thank you for all your time spent on giving us all instruction. Your instructions are easy to follow and i am always able to do them. You have raised my crafting level to new highs. Can't say thank you enough for all you do and please keep showing us all your lovely work.
Thank you so much for doing this tutorial. I have had a million questions in my head and you clarified just how to complete this task. I just love your tutorials. They are always so clear and concise
I just did it!!!! Yay!! I created the binding. I messed up the first try with the scoring. I ran out of paper and I am using a 12 inch sheet. So my husband came over for a quick review of fractions. 2nd try was the charm. Breathe!! I’m going to treat myself to a glass of moscato and a movie and come back to finish the cover first thing tomorrow. Happy 😃 dance!!!
Thank you sooo much for sharing this tutorial.I have been wanting to learn this for quite some time.I did succeed at making the binding & book base .Can't wait to start decorating the pages. You are an excellent teacher.
love your tutorial and your great work you put in your album's I am working on learning from you a great teacher and very lovely person you are not requesting money for teaching Thank you very much
Thanks for this tutorial Ginger! You're a great instructor, clear and easy to understand; the tips were wonderful. I've loved the bone lifter tool you've used and couldn't find one like it. This girl was up late last night ordering! LOL!!
Thank you for the detailed explanation on the width of the spine. It has always been something I struggled with. Even though I have made several types of minis, I have ended up using a soft spine because the pages just didn't seem to lay the way I wanted them to. Very, very great information.
Great tutorial!! I didn't think I'd EVER understand how to do this hinge, but your tutorial is so easy to understand! I'm making my very first album. Thank you so much! :) My hinge actually looks nice. LOL So does my cover.
Now I know why I have 4 Mini albums not completed because of wonky spines, your clear explanation cleared away the Mojo Fog. Adding a link on Memory Book Crafting fb page. Thank You.
Just came across this video today and am shocked I hadn't sooner! Ginger I have been watching your videos and picking up lots of inspiration and tips from them ever since I started scrapbooking/making albums. I always loved how your binding and albums look so smooth and well put together, and that your pages lay relatively flat. There are so many tutorials on UA-cam of this process and I have to say that yours is one of the best. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video and sharing it with us all! =)
I just did made one similar except different measurements... My question for you is when I applied score tape to the back of my hinges it puckered in the back... I did not apply my tape up and down like you did.. I wonder if that makes a big different.. MUST!!
Hello , thank you for a great tutorial , I followed step by step and im so proud i finish through this whole video ! but I'm a newbie to mini album and i was wondering if you had a video on the the pages to this particular size ? or what the next step is ??...thanks so much ...Sarah
Ginger. you do a wonderful job and I have learned so much. Please consider designing new types of books. With your patience and style we can all achieve miracles in book crafts.
Hi. Love your tutorial. I know you said you purchased your chip board on amazon by grafix, but can you please tell me what weight is the chip board? Light weight, medium weight? Also what type of card stock paper do you use? Could you please tell me what the brand is of the natural colored card stock or where you purchase the card stock from? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
That really is helpful Ginger, thank you. How long have you been making mini albums please? Would tyvek help to stop the covers from tearing? Really enjoy the way you teach TFS blessings
Debra Prins I use Scor-tape from Scor-Pal. That’s the only brand of double sided adhesive I use. I’m not a big fan of wet glue because it leaves ripples in the paper because it is “wet”. If I have to use a wet glue I use Art Glitter Glue.
so the last part of the album you make its cardstock? or cardboard? the reason am asking is because what if I wanted to use a colorful page for the front ?
Ummm... Sorry I don't understand what your asking. I make all of my pages from cardstock and then mat the cardstock pages with my design papers. You can wrap your chipboard covers with design paper if you want.
Please tell me if I am wrong because for some reason Mine does not come out right.. When you start Off you say 1 3/4 then you say 2 1/2 but the blue tick marks is not a half so I'm not sure which is right what ur saying or what ur doing.. Either way Mine just doesent come out right?? Thank You Connie
Connie Chappell I just watched the video and not sure where you heard 2-1/2. Anyway you start at 1-3/4 then you go 1/2 inch from that measurement which is 2-1/4, then 2-3/4. Then determine the space you want between your pages. I use 3/8 inch. So your next score mark is 3/8 of an inch from the 2-3/4 score line. The sequence is 1/2, 1/2, 3/8. It takes 2 of the 1/2 inch scorelines to make one hinge.
Hi .. I have watched the tutorial and you are right. I do not know where I thought I heard you say that? I will tell you this, I have watched SO MANY tutorials on HINGES I think not only am I seeing things wrong I'm hearing them wrong to!! Out of all I have watched I absolutely like your's the best. I am so glad you got back to me and called my attention to that. I still can not get it to come out right, BUT I will not give up until I do, and I will.. Math, Inches in off inches I have never got.. It does not make sense to me. You can tell me all day long Half, Half Three Eights , I don't get it. Now if you were saying one inch one inch and one half inch I would understand. The minute you throw an Eight in their it throws EVERYTHING else off for me..I don't know why it just does. I have stopped and started this thing so many times I really am surprised I have not burned it up. And everytime I start it again I swear I see something different. I just think I am trying so hard to do this is I'm screwing the Whole thing up.. I apologize to you for having to go back and look... Math just does not make sense to me and never has.. Trust me I'm not young. It is something I have never mastered in my life. Maybe that's my problem, when I was young it really did not matter to me, Now That I'm OLD-ER and it does matter I just can not grasp it. But I won't give up I will do it!! Thank You! Connie♥

I just did made one similar except different measurements... My question for you is when I applied score tape to the back of my hinges it puckered in the back... I did not apply my tape up and down like you did.. I wonder if that makes a big different.. MUST!!
Not sure. But I always apply my tape up and down. I think the hinges work better this way.
Hello , thank you for a great tutorial , I followed step by step and im so proud i finish through this whole video ! but I'm a newbie to mini album and i was wondering if you had a video on the the pages to this particular size ? or what the next step is ??...thanks so much ...Sarah

I've been making mini albums for about 7 or 8 years. Yes, Tyvek is a great product to use.
Thank you LOVE IT
This was helpful but I was wondering do you have a tutorial with binding and pages so I have the measurements for both
+Kristina Silvery I have several video tutorials on my channel where we create the mini album together.
+My Sisters Scrapper can yuou send me the links I have gone thru but there is so many i really would appreciate the help
Thank-you :)
Is the cover to be a 1/4 inch bigger on each side of the hinge? Or 1/4 inch total (1/8 on each side)?
question could I use cereal boxes or maybe may board for my cover
Hi im new to this and i did this book with youre instructions. But i need help to do the pages for this size of book, do u have a tutorial for this?
How do you make the fringe for the albums you made previously? It I the Thursday tutorial mini pocket album.
Sorry, not sure what fringe you are asking about.
what's the name of the that tool you use to fold up the cover to a 90 degree angle and where do you get it? Thanks so much! You're a great teacher! :)
Debra Prins It’s a teflon bone lifter. You can get them online from Amazon.com or other online retailers.
What score tape do you use? And do you feel it holds better than liquid glue?
Debra Prins I use Scor-tape from Scor-Pal. That’s the only brand of double sided adhesive I use. I’m not a big fan of wet glue because it leaves ripples in the paper because it is “wet”. If I have to use a wet glue I use Art Glitter Glue.
do you have a tutorial on how to make the pages for this exact size mini album
Ginger, where do you buy your scor-tapes from? Can you buy them by the bulk too? I find that for me, they work the best as well.
I buy it on,one at ScrapbookPal.com
Awesome tutorial! Did you say what pound cardstock you use? Just subscribed♥♥♥
I use 65lb weight cardstock that I purchase from Michaels.
so the last part of the album you make its cardstock? or cardboard? the reason am asking is because what if I wanted to use a colorful page for the front ?
Ummm... Sorry I don't understand what your asking. I make all of my pages from cardstock and then mat the cardstock pages with my design papers. You can wrap your chipboard covers with design paper if you want.
Can you tell me what magnets you use for your pages. I have tried 4 different sizes and they are either to think or to weak.
I use the small magnetic snaps from Basic Grey.
in love
