Betty Draper is a character from the TV series Mad Men. I think you would love the styles from this show. Also some of the men's fashions for your husband.
SewRena needs to see the 1st season of Mad Men, just for the fashion alone 🥰💖
Exactly. I watched the show for the fashion. Their daughter was exactly my age. They did an excellent job of staying true to the period.
I love watching you sew. I have recently reawakened my love for vintage things and now I am learning how to sew. You are an inspiration ❤
I did not care for the pencil skirt pattern but you made it gorgeous!!!! I love that you line your outfits ( like all our clothes used to be). I would really like to see your closet!
Your modelings skills are right up there with your sewing abilities.Together they put the cherry or finishing touches on everything you make ❤
OMG that would look beautiful in a pastel taffeta or crepe for Easter, or a jewel for fancy occasion. And the wrapped waist is so flattering
I can't even sew but love vintage dresses so I am SO happy YT recommended this channel. I'm shocked she hasn't seen Mad Men, I love to watch it because of the clothing and sets, they are so accurate for the time period, not to mention I love when historical fiction addresses modern issues while being set in the past (in this case, sexism and misogyny, racism, homophobia, and classism are common themes, and they also had historical events woven throughout, such as the Tet Offensive, DNC riots, the Cuban Missile Crisis, etc.). It was a well-done show, vintage fans should definitely watch it.
Thank you so much! So many have been shocked that I’ve never seen it so I’m going to have to watch it. Seems like it’s really good, plus the costumes must be amazing because I adore this dress
Absolutely beautiful and feminine. I wish the younger girls could appreciate how stylish.
Oh wow! I didn't think I liked the pencil skirt, but it is very elegant on you. Gorgeous pattern!!
Very pretty dress. So beautiful with lining.
Pencil skirts usually aren't my cup of tea but with the bow it added just enough whimsy and bustle look that, yes, this is a winner!
Your dress turned out great. It looks really nice with the pencil skirt
Love that hole punch idea. Been sewing since I was 9 and never seen this. Brilliant ❤
SewRena, you look absolutely adorable in that dress. I can see you getting out of your vintage car
with the eyes of so many admiring you. Another winner that you together with Mr. Kenmore have
created!!!!!
WAIT! You've NEVER SEEN MAD MEN? WoW! Get up and go watch it! 🤣😂🤣 I say that with love!!!
😩😩 I have not I have literally never heard of it until people would comment referencing the show in my comment section. 😂🤣 I am going to watch it tonight I promise.
You make MISTAKES???!!! 😂 That's not possible.
Joke aside, I absolutely LOVE watching your videos!
Wow, perfect. And it looks divine on you. Who can tell you had any trouble at all. You are marvelous darling.
I meant you can't tell you had any trouble with putting that garment together. You are an amazing seamstress.
The dress looks fabulous on you for the second dress you could do a darker contrast cumberbund and skip the bow both ways would look great you have the perfect figure for all the clothes fitting styles
I have really been drawn to the vintage style of late, but let's be real for a minute. The thought of sewing a beautiful dress as SewRena has done without a dress form or dedicated space to do so makes me super hesitant to try it. I have purchased a few vintage-inspired patterns, so if I ever get brave enough to try have a few dresses to experiment with. SewRena looks flawless as always, and I can totally picture her in the fully restored Corvair!
Your talent and ability just blow me away. I love watching you and your videos.
What a genius idea to mark the dots on a pattern using a hole punch! I mean, so obvious but it never occurred to me lol 👍🏻
Your channel is indisputably ✨STUNNING✨all hours of the day. I quite literally always look forward to a new video or short from you
Omgosh! Sew cute. It's giving me 1950's Pretty Women. Your talent is so awesome.
Meow! That dress is gorgeous and the bow is indeed EXTRA! Beautiful job!
The dress is absolutely beautiful on you! I was blown away by the reveal. You're a Supermodel!
I love that you make old fashioned clothes they are so cute
The hole punch is such a good idea! And you look fabulous in that dress. Well done as always
Beautiful finished dress! Betty Draper would be proud. Can you show and talk about your wrist pin cushion? I caught a glimpse of it during the video. Did you make it? It's stylish, cute and functional!
Oh my word!!! This dress is beautiful, as you are wearing it! When I first saw your videos, I told my friend that there is a lady on YT who dresses like Betty Draper and, unlike Betty, she makes all of the outfits! Well, my friend subscribed too. We love the channel.
Awww thank you!!! I’m just now seeing her wardrobe and I’m in love💕 I need more shirt waist dresses
Your creativity is mind blowing...
I love everything about this on you!!! And yes I will never do an assemble yourself paper pattern I felt your pain!!
That bow makes the dress super amazing. Great idea and thanks for showing.
This turned out great! I also cant believe you pieced thr pdf together at home that is soooo much work lol
Shout out to the pupper stealing the show during the big reveal 😂
Mad men is worth watching just for the costumes 😻
I’m thinking about watching some of it tonight, maybe I’ll live-stream tomorrow to share my thoughts on it. I’m kinda excited.
@@SewRena there's so many dresses from it that I'm like oooh add that to the list of things to make!
This is one of the most gorgeous things I have seen you make on your channel. I love it when stash busting has such great results ❤
Love that print!! The bow looks amazing on the pencil skirt ❤
Another nice job! Beautiful dress! Betty Draper is a character on Mad Men, which I highly recommend to you if for no other reason than the clothes! I think you’d really like it. Not very kid-friendly, though, so maybe after the littles are in bed, lol.
Thank you so much! I’m going to watch it I’m excited about this wardrobe I’ve been hearing so much about.
I love the large dot marking tip! I’ve been poking a hole with an awl and doing tailor’s tacks, but that’s annoying. This sort of reminds me of the walkway dress, except it doesn’t look like an apron.😂
Hi there! New subscriber here. The dress looks amazing and very pretty. I know that you said that you aren’t familiar with classic movies but have you ever seen the original Perry Mason television series? It ran from around 1958 until 1966. Most of the fashion that the female characters were so elegant and stylish especially when they got “dolled up” as they might say. The secretary Della Street had the best wardrobe. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend the series for design inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing.
OMG That dress is gorgeous on you!
You look so beautiful in this retro looking dress.
Very beautiful. You have the perfect figure to wear these styles of dresses & pant suits. You make the clothes look good!
The dress is gorgeous!!!! I think it's funny you don't know a lot of 50's movies, given your taste in fashion. Regardless, you hit the nail on the head every time. My favorite movie is Life With Father, although that is not quite my favorite era, it's just beautiful. Thanks for another great video.
Lol isn’t 🤣😂. Apart from I love Lucy, cartoons and breakfast at tiffany’s I just admire the style and decor.
That's a winner....high on the posh side!
Awww. You are so beautiful in your dress. It fits perfectly. I like the fabric. Thank you for sharing your videos with us.
That bow is everything!!!
You + this dress = perfection. Stunning
This dress is gorgeous! Well done!
You look fabulous in this!! Do go to UA-cam videos of Mad Men and look at the incredible 50s/60s fashions. I could see you in those dresses.
Classy. Love this! Looks like a Derby Day dress.
Just wow! The back is absolutely stunning!!!
Mad Men is not a classic movie, it's a TV show from the early 2000s that helped kick off the "prestige TV" era, it's about people in the advertising industry in the 1960s. Betty Draper is the wife of the main character.
Everything you make is gorgeous!!!!!!!
Wow. That dress is beautiful on you. You did a great job.
Love the full skirted dress. Love your creativity! 🧵🪡
Oh my gawsh!!!! You look Amazing!!!!❤
Looks great! The waist is such a lovely detail.
The dress looks beautiful!
Beautiful! You make me want to learn how to sew! Any super basic items that you would suggest for a complete novice?
I absolutely love your channel……you are smart, charming, chic, and beautiful……..
Wow! This is amazing. Well done.
Beautiful dress! I have a suggestion for tiling pdf patterns: fold instead of cutting the edges and use a glue stick instead of tape. The end result is more sturdy.
I fold and use packaging tape. In general I hate doing it and I need to start using the print shop. I’ll never learn.
I always enjoy your UA-cam channel every outfit you make are beautiful thanks for sharing 😊
You are so talented. Beautiful work
Love it! You did an excellent job. You are the perfect model for all of your creations. Well Done.
That is a gorgeous dress. Lovely.

It looks fantastic on you! Everything you make does, but this is just such a pretty pretty dress!
I adore the contrast of floral and polka dots on the dress, which turned out lovely. I can already see how amazing it will look with the car.
Beautiful match with the gloves
