The master sword durability is way worse than breath of the wild I wish we can transfer msgnotfound durability to the real master sword so it can be the real sword that seals the darkness but at least we buff the attack 10+ thanks for the tutorial you made it very simple

I'll point out, Critical Hit does more damage overall, at higher numbers, than +10 atk.
for example, a 1-handed sword has a 4 hit combo, and critical hit activates on the last hit of a combo.
Critical hits do 2x damage, so it does as much damage as 5 hits in only 4 hits.
    with 1 damage, this isn't much. only 1+1+1+2 = 5 damage total. whereas a +10 atk would be 11+11+11+11=44.
But with the Master sword, it does 30 damage by default (45 around gloom).
So with critical hit that 30+30+30+60=150 damage. but +10 atk = 40+40+40+40=160. The difference is MUCH smaller.
With a silver lynel saber horn, it would be 85 damage.
So critical hit is 85+85+85+170=425. but +10 atk would be 95+95+95+95=380.
As you can see, the lower the damage, the better a +10 atk modifier is.
However at higher damage numbers, critical hit becomes far superior.
Still not sure? The strongest possible weapon would be:
    - Pristine Royal Guard's Claymore (39 damage)
    - Molduga Jaw (+32 damage)
    - Radiant/Evil Spirit set (1.8x damage from bone weapons)
    - ATK Up 3 food (1.5x damage)
So 192 damage total. (+10 ATK applies before the multipliers, but isn't calculated here)
Claymore's only have a 2 hit combo, unless flurry rushing, where they get a 4 hit combo.
So we'll put our claymore on 2 durability.
Royal Guard weapons have the Breaking Point attribute, granting them 2x damage on 3 or less durability. Furthermore, all weapons get 2x damage at 1 durability. And weakpoint strikes get another 2x damage (but won't be calculated here)
So with a Critical Hit modifier, our damage would be
    284 + 578 = 862 damage.
With a +10 ATK modifier, our damage would be
    219 + 437 = 656 damage.
If you hit a weakpoint, double these numbers.
So, as you can see, Critical Hit does far more damage than +10 ATK. The only time you would actually use weapons on 1 durability though, is when mounting a Lynel's back, since weapons won't lose durability like that, so you can't expect to be doing this much damage regularly.
Side Note: Since MSG Not Found (Unbreakable Master Sword) only has 1 durability, it will always be doing double damage. It will also get the 1.5x multiplier from being near Gloom.
So if you were to fuse a Molduga Jaw onto it, you would be looking at:
    30 Base Damage
    +32 from Molduga Jaw
    2x from 1 Durability
    1.8x from Bone Prof.
    1.5x from ATK Up 3
    1.5x from near Gloom
502 Damage total. If you can transfer a modifier onto it, choose Critical Hit, since, as I showed above, it is MUCH stronger at a high number like this than +10 ATK.
This would give you an Unbreakable Master Sword that does 2,510 damage every 4 hits. Putting it 700 damage above breaking a Molduga Jaw RGC* on an enemy weakpoint, which is the strongest single hit possible (without glitches) in the game.
EDIT: I haven't been able to confirm is MNF sword does do double damage, so actual damage might only be 1,255 which is 600 below the molduga jaw break.

If MsgNotFound had 1 durability, wouldn't every hit be a critical hit? Does the Critical Hit+ modifier not have an effect on a weapons final hit?
If Critical Hit+ doubled the damage on a critical hit, and the last hit of a weapons life was considered a critical hit...
Then, true max damage would be:
      Pristine Royal Guard's Claymore: 39
      Molduga Jaw: 32
      Breaking Point: 2x
      Weapon break bonus: 2x
      Critical Hit+: 2x
      Bone Prof.: 1.8x
      ATK+++: 1.5x
      (39+32)*2*2*2*1.8*1.5 = *1533.6*? Does that sound right?

Only means damage on the last hit is doubled not every attack and this if the weapon is going to break on the last hit. essentially It's 10 til that break and all the previous hits are 10 asides that last hit which would be double not 1 extra point which would be so if the weapon did 32 in 5 hits the attack would be 32 + 32 +32 +32 +32 as crits are given with final hits. now if it was on a Lynels back with the weapon it's last durability for break since mounting attacks take no durability every hit is a crit which would make this 64 damage in every hit without an increase. so 5 hits become 64 + 64 + 64 + 64 + 64 because it is 1 durability and the back takes no durability but this is because normally the weapon would break and hence it's only effective on Lynels if you don't do any other attack asides mounted attacks with the weapon. With any other enemy your weapon will break on the crit and it's not worth sacking your weapon. Furthermore the best weapon to do this with is the Royal Guard Claymore since it has an added effect of doubling it's damage when it's 3 hits from breaking. This number becomes visbile on the weapon also.
On the contrary the problem with believing crit is double is it's uncertain as well the enemies health. There are no numbers on these and it is speculative. And it was the same with BotW as well why a proper number wasn't implemented. It had a whole video on how pretty much BotW mechanics worked on that game and for most part the system carried over to TotK. The only real way to test how much health the enemy has is a hit counter with a 1 damage weapon no mods no additional damage then to kill it with only crits and count the amount of hits. This can be done with Lynels. The real thing however is no one seems to have done it and showed it off for accuracy and to see if this truly is the numbers they'd have to kill it in this fashion a few times as the number may change and if so meaning that it would be even harder to show accurate proof. In terms crit would get based on a average if most likely if the number changed so does crit do actually x2 damage who knows. it could be more or less. However then they have to test again with the modifiers crit up on the weapon and crit up + a few times to get their numbers as they may not be a 1 on damage. They might even be 1/4 of the initial crit damage. If that'd be the case final hit becomes 1.25 the damage on 1/4 with the increased damage multiplier.
in terms most the damage about crit is actually just speculative. What can be determined on powerhouse builds atm however like the Royal Guard Claymore with Malduga Jaw bone last durability Proficiency gear like Radiant armor plus Attack up 3 food is it'll kill a silver Lynel with 6 hits versus another build. Which that weapon is junk on anything that isn't a Lynel due to durability as well as crit damage.

@@WinoaKaronhiatenswouldn’t crit not be worth it on the master sword if it’s not very good in the overworld but in the depths and it’s stronger against gloom enemy’s. Most of the time the gloom enemy’s health isn’t even high enough for crit damage to do anything and another basic hit would kill it.

Yes it would, also fuses usually add durability to weapons but due to a bug it doesn't work for the master sword after it breaks once. But using this glitch will also transfer the added durability of the fuse giving it even more life once again.

I’ve noticed that fusing the real master sword doesn’t give it the usual +25 durability, so if I get the +durability modifier on the real master sword, will the max durability actually increase from 40 to 50?

    • @Zas_
      @Zas_  Рік тому +1

To get durability+ benefit on the master sword you need to transfer it from a weapon that is already benefiting from it as well and the base durability of that weapon is as high as the master sword's. A pristine royal halberd that has a natural durability+ is the best you can use. Also if you transfer from a weapon that has the +25 fuse durability then that +25 will also be transferred to the master sword and it's the only way to get it again.

I'd really like to get a modifier onto the Lightscale Trident without sacrificing its durability but the video for it has no explanation of any kind .

A way to do this isn't currently possible on the 1.0.0, only newer versions include a fix that prevents you from accidentally losing the master sword which can be exploited for transferring modifiers without affecting durability. So until a new way to duplicate the master sword is found we can't transfer only the modifier on 1.0.0.
