That story from Greater Manchester Police is appalling. The lads should kick up the largest fuss possible. MPs, Media, Chief of Police, Lawyers... the whole suite.

I believe it was the Manchester force who also carried out armed raids against game keepers in the Lake District and north Lancashire, a few years ago, as they believed that the gamekeepers were acting with drug smugglers flying in small planes and then moving the drugs on to the drug barons. Manchester did not tell the local police what they were doing. It came to nothing but having early morning raids by armed kevlar cowboys was not looked on well by the local police or the gamekeepers.

Surely Greater Manchester Police , or in fact, any Police Authority, would be better to spend their valuable time and stretched resources, tackling, Distraction Burglaries, Drug Dealers, Drink & Drugged Drivers, and in general Preventing Crime, Fear and Disorder ! Rather than picking off easy targets, that don't really need a lot of detection skills to locate. There are far more members of the public affected by " run of the mill daily crimes" than those who don't want to hear the sound of a shotgun in a field, that's protecting a landowners investment. Just my humble opinion, for what it's worth.
Greater Manchester Police have done their Force and the rest of the Police service in this Country a great disservice by their actions in taking away the Guns of Law abiding citizens who had committed NO CRIME. No wonder trust in the Police Forces in this Country is draining away faster than Water in a Bucket with an hole in the bottom. I for one sadly don’t have the respect for the Police that I once had having worked with a number of Forces up and down the Country working as a Gamekeeper for fifty five years, (Now Retired).
Bought a Swazi waterproof smock a year ago, first trip in wet weather and it leaked on the arms/shoulders. After care was awful. Its now an expensive dog bed in the back of the truck! Bought Kuiu and so far is much better!
i never thought I'd see Jose again, If i remember correctly He taught my class back in 2016 on how to break down a pig as well as different types of poultry. I never made it past the first year as I had my knives stolen when going for a meeting about my English grades. I'm annoyed it happened but since then I've done some things with my life but nothing I think I could've achieved if I stayed on the course.
The fuzz taking away guns when your 100% legal and have the backing of the farmer who hired you is shocking. Just goes to show they are not in your side.

I spoke to a fella with 6 months left to do, and he was saying that they’re not allowed to shout and call you nasty names anymore when on the assault course! Also you have to have a rest after doing a bit of a run as well😂😂 Oh dear, I expect they have the Mums nearby in case little Johnny trips over😁😁😁
Funnily I'm in GMP Area and had poachers and called the police, and they told me it's a civil matter... I'm like excuse me what. It's armed trespass not a civil matter. They didn't turn up.
if you have the farmers/land owners permission to protect crops and are the right distance away from roads and footpaths and any other boundaries i dont think the police had any right to take the lads guns , if they are members of basc give them a ring find out where they stand legely

I was talking to a game keeper whose ground is in a badger cull area. They have removed the two sets on this area and he has noticed that there are more invertebrates, birds and smaller animals around since the badgers have gone. Do you know if there is a study going on into the wider affects of removing badgers from the environment for have the studies just been into TB?

The police should be sued for loss of earnings I would get the farm to rite me a letter saying he was paying 100 pound a pigeon and 500 pound a crow and the average bag was 500 take the piss like they have bye taking folks guns

I agree with conservation and pest control but think there is no place for rearing any animal or bird just to shoot it in the name of sport.
