I forgot to mention in the video: Houses in this sector can cost up to USD$ 800k (US Dollars)! A three bedroom apartment can vary in price, from $200k all the way up to $780K!
That's kind of rich for a mere apartment. For that kind of money, I want a single family house on a good size plot of land. Don't care much for the city.
I'm a dominican who lives in canada and I bought an apartment in that area, apart from the nice exclusive view the one thing that I love about that area is that people speak proper Spanish, I always wanted to speak a beautiful Spanish without being scared to get criticized because when i spoke proper Spanish in poor areas of the DR they criticize me and called me " priba en fino" or " gay ", now I feel comfortable talking proper Spanish because 87% of people of that area speak very very proper Spanish like they do in venezuela and spain
A Travel Agency would be appreciated and I think you’d be successful in the tourist sector, especially in the Dominican Republic because you know so much and always show us some nice places etc… I don’t know your thoughts on that but i feel like i had to share this with you. 🤗
I would like to visit & I always wanted to adopt from there but America scares the heck out of us about visiting there. So I started looking at elite, high end wealthier parts & safest areas of the Dominican R. I would definitely stay in this area. It looks very nice!❤
If you're a first time visitor I suggest not backpacking on your own but to first book tours and packages with recognized companies, that way you can get to know the place and know what to expect for future visits!
Hello, thank you for all you share. Your videos are very educative, detailed and full of positivity. I have a question please. I run a tech agency that provide technical and digital related services for businesses. I am thinking of coming to Dominican Republic in order to set up my business there. Do you think relocating and settling down in Dominican Republic for business purposes is a viable option? Also I noticed work and business visa was categorized as one on the immigration website. So I am a bit confused about the right information.
Thank you for your great feedback and your questions! I believe the growing economy of the DR makes it a great option to come do business here! I'm no expert on this topic however, so don't take my word for it, do all the research you can before making the move! Regarding the visa aspect, I'll find out for you. I'm very well versed regarding Dominicans applying for visas to other countries, but I'm not so familiar with the other way around.
Thank you for the content. I was reading about this neighborhood, and I was surprised to know that it is more opulent than Piantini. Thank you again for the info about this neighborhood. A random question for you. How is the internet in your neighborhood of Santo Domingo? For someone working remotely, is it reliable and stable?
Hey there! I live in a sector where we have fiber optics available, our wifi is quite stable. The speed I have is good for me, but you can upgrade your wifi plan as needed (you pay more $$ the higher the speed you want)
I like piantini better, because it has more walkable places, like coffee shops, bars, restaurants, groceries etc etc. Also, check out bella Vista. One of my favorites one because of the same reasons mentioned above.
I’m planning on moving from nyc to DR.. I watched a few of your videos of the different sectors and I really like this one. Looks clean, quiet and well organized. Which are your top three sectors for 3 bedroom apartments? Thanks
There are not very many gated communites (the type that have a whole set of streets filled with houses), the main ones are in Cuesta Hermosa and Arroyo Hondo. But, there are plenty of gated residential projects, in which you have a gated space with up to 10 houses that share a huge lot in the middle. There are also gated spaces being built with apartment buildings instead of houses: there is a new one in the middle of Santo Domingo called Paseo del Carmen for example.
It really depends on the location that best fits with your style. A good mid range one is El Millón. Also Bella Vista and Gazcue are good options that have all that stuff.
I love your videos but nothing tops Cuesta Hermosa. I love it. And quite frankly Cuesta hermosa 2 is pretty affordable I believe, I mean I know people that spend $350K on an apartment in Naco. Who the heck wants to see buildings? Not me. I much rather live in a place like acuesta Hermosa even if it cost a bit more
This district has less businesses, restaurants and shops than Piantini or Bella Vista. It's mostly expensive houses and tall apartment buildings. It does have supermarkets and some restaurants, but not as many as in the other two areas. Also, Bella Vista and Piantini are located more towards the middle of the city, and Cacicazgos is located more towards the west.
Yes, the Chinese ambassador has a beautiful house/intelligence gathering facility in the neighborhood, but since there’s no Chinese restaurant around, can’t order takeout. To me, a “neighborhood” is made up of both residential living and commerce. The Bravo being the only place to shop, with no Jumbo to compete with, prices must be sky high there. U never speak to distance to the center of the city, where malls are situated and streets/area for restaurants/bars.
Na" Not impressive as Piantini and I could even walk to the both malls and the supermarket was at the end of the block of the hotel I was staying at . Also there aren't enough store in neighborhood in case of a emergency. I didn't even see a corner drugstore because I'm pretty sure they close early from the look of things. I didn't see a barbershop or a hair salon nor hardware store and better hope there's not a power outages or you need a light bulb after the closing of the supermarket at 10 pm.
I forgot to mention in the video: Houses in this sector can cost up to USD$ 800k (US Dollars)! A three bedroom apartment can vary in price, from $200k all the way up to $780K!
What’s the average rent in that area for an apartment?
@@leonlash264 depends on the size and amenities. I'm guessing anywhere 750 to 1,200 dollars.

Beautiful and peaceful
Es un lugar muy tranquilo, hasta parece una gated community, the streets are quite narrow though, great video!!
Es cierto, las calles son un poco estrechas
My! My! I like the choice of the background music. It was short, but I enjoyed it and the beautiful sights. SD, such a fascinating city.
Thanks so much for the feedback!!!

Reminds of what Naco looked like in the mid-1970s when I lived there.
Oh the memories!!
Nice
Great video, LOVE the soundtrack too...what is it?🤔
Do you have any of punta cana?? Hoping to visit in July this year

Hi Ely
Are there any gated communities or new development with gated communities in Sto. Dmg? I would love to see a residential gated community!

@@PurelyWalking thank you gif the information. I just don’t like condo or apt living!
Muy bonito pero las aceras se ven muy descuidada para esa aérea
Realmente, en algunas zonas están más bonitas..
Those houses are nice but what i find sad about all these beautiful houses is that they have to be surrounded by those ugly walls.
Yes, that's so sad
