You can go over to The Short Iron Store, they have 2 locations. They will be happy to take your materials list and cut everything for you. They will make the build a lot easier!
I think the you should build another table with some drawers and tool hangers, and then donate the finished product to my garage... :) Thank you, a beginning welder
Great video, I've watched a few dozen videos on making welding tables, but they're either too big or too complex for the amount of welding I do, but this one looks like just what I need. I watched your first video on the big table, and I was on the edge of my seat, waiting for something really dramatic to happen because I'd read the comments first, and the way people were reacting I was sure you were going to the hospital, but all those Nancy's were overreacting. If one bandage covered all the damage after completing a project that big, that's a huge win in my garage. I got a C by the way on that.
In the process of building the same size as a welding cart with welder, plasma and small cabinet for consumables. Have top and picking up steel tomorrow. The fun begins!
I had the 4x8 table that I built in an earlier video in my 3 car garage it was a little too big. I have moved to a much larger shop and it fits perfectly.
As a former pro welder.. the only best stool for welders is three feet chair, either with rollers on non, with bearings so it rotates on fixed... . The advantage of three foot(leg) chair was floor stability than four feet(leg) chair, four lef chair is only good on flattened floor with very good accuracy..while three legged chair can stand firmly and stable on flat and rough ground... .
@@joea.6017 I would call it a legit metal miter saw for a weekend warrior. It is pretty much a modified wood saw that turn slower for metal, but it has been good for me.

If you run a welding filter over your camera and you cut out the distortion on the video. But apart from that a very good video, especially with the measurements in both imperial and metric (centre meters) most measurements in metric are given in millimetres (mm).
@@TheImprovementChannel on the filters use out of a handheld fixed filter mask, say like for gas welding goggles for a far off view and a arc or a mig filter for close up shots, you could also up the frame recording speed say like from 60 fps to 120 fps or 160 fps to cut down on the interference when welding. The welding filters are great for getting that arc shot, the fps can cut out the flickering and the distortion of the picture, the other side of it is have the mig weld far away from the camera as the high electrical frequency can affect the viewing of the recording.
@@philipburrows lots of great info! I will use all those tips in up coming videos! Be patient I have already filmed a couple of videos that I did not have you info for. Thank you for all your help!
What are the measurements/sizes for the table steel pieces? I assume this video is supposed to be about building a table and not about selling stuff for amazon??? Please add that information to this page.

Love it

Alright no one else has offered. If you want some tips on welding please feel free to reach out to me.
Thank you, where are you located?
I’m starting with tig welding, is it ok for me to rest my hand holding the torch on the table?

Hey mate nice job, is there any chance you could put up some measurements please i want to make 1 the same
The top is 1/4” 2’x4’. 1 1/2” tube for the rest.
What cutting saw do you have ?
I have an evolution saw 10”. I did not cut this project up my metal supplier cut it up for me.
Nice table and it appears to fit my needs. Can you share dimensions? Ide like to order supplies this week to build one this weekend.
The top is a 24”x48” I did mine at a bar height. Measure out the bar height in a house and subtract the height of your casters.
@@TheImprovementChannel Thanks for the information!!!
where did you go to get your 1/4 steel plate for top. great job
I got it at Short Iron. 2 locations in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
What is the chair you are using
That is a bar stool that I purchased at Northern tool.
How thick is iron plate in mm ?
12.7 mm
What sliding metal cutting saw is that?
Evolution 10 inch sliding miter.
@@TheImprovementChannel Is this a legit metal cutting saw or is it a modified wood chop saw?

Good video, do you think 1x1x1/8 tubing would be strong enough for the frame on a table like this?
That size would not be my first choice. That being said, if you reinforce it enough with cross bracing yes you can make that work.
No.
Where to we get the measurements
It is a 2’x4’ table that is 42” tall.
@@TheImprovementChannel and wat about size of the metal tubing
@@joseramirez9932 I used 1 1/12 inch a 14 or 16 gauge will work great.
Nice video. What did this cost to make in materials?
Good question, the materials keep changing that have gone down a lot. I was lucky to get this one sponsored and it did not cost anything in materials.
