We are on year 3 of our Nanking cherries. We harvested 1 gallon from our 2 bushes. The jelly is yummy and the most beautiful color! I can’t wait for it to grow so we can get a larger harvest. Yours are fabulous. We are in NW Arkansas. Now we are waiting on our sour cherry tree harvest-any day, now!
Such amazing abundance! I just got my first baby Nanking cherry from tractor supply for $8.99. Potted her up and placed in a sunny Window. It was just a rooted cutting.
Y'all need to make collection container that has a strap that goes over your neck. One shorter strap close to you and one more at the center of the bowl/collection container. rectangle in size, 4 holes at top of container for the straps if you can imagine sort of what I'm saying... tilted a bit up so not to spill out from the front.
It is such a beautiful cherry! We have to grow all tropical cherries and I am unsure if any are good for cooking like northern Cherries. What a lovely gift. I bought myself a Lychee tree and some gardening items for Mother’s day. 😆
They're such beautiful cherries! They look like maraschino cherries. And they look hidden, which is great so the birds and other animals don't see them.
Those are beautiful cherries. I want a tree like my Granny had with the big sweet cherries. It was good you had enough to bless Buddy and Lippy with some.
These are wonderful cherries, had them for over 30 years and get tremendous amounts from mine. Actually have one patch that are white nanking cherries. Have 4- 20# bags in freezer that want to work up this fall.
I just bought 4 slips at Tractor Supply. Can't wait to plant them! In a couple of days, y'all are going to have a bunch of drunk chickens at your place, after eating those fermented cherries!
He got them at Tractor Supply 5 or 6 years ago! We might can get a start for you, Lippy and Cathy want one too but I think they were waiting for fall. We will see what we can do.
They look delicious. Daniel doesn't like cherries though so it doesn't make sense for me to plant them. I should just plant strawberries and apples which all three of us like. His Extended School Year bus driver called today and let me know the times as it starts on Monday. He always attends it as otherwise he regresses too much for regular school. I'm about halfway through typing and printing out my second dream journal. The page protectors are keeping them from ripping, getting stain, and get water damaged like the composition books. Another bonus is the ink stays consistent. The mechanical pencils I use when hand writing them fade. Still not sure if I have enough page protector but most entries have been 1 to 2 pages long. Some of the last ones are on the long side so they will be closer to the earlier ones that were mostly 4 pages or longer.

We are now trying to learn to air layer so that we can have more of the same.

Air layering is a great life skill to have!
It has also caused me to get overrun with free trees. Lol

Sounds like a great idea

Very nice! You got a whole bunch and shared them, I'd say that is a good harvest!
What a bumper crop. So glad you were able to share that blessing with friends.

Well the chickens find them from the bottom lol but they can’t reach very many so it’s ok! They are good and make a great jelly or jam.
Wow, what a harvest!! You are surely blessed, indeed.

Yes we love them. The grandkids stand out there and eat them off the bush. We love the jelly I have made from them too!

why you gotta take all those nice cherries and ruin them with artificial sweetener?
