  • The 80-year-old artist - heralded for her sculptures throughout New York City - was honored with a rare solo show at the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, Maine. "Sunday Morning" anchor Charles Osgood talked with Nevelson, in a profile that was originally broadcast August 6, 1981.

    My grandmother trudy Stanford was her understudy. I love my grandma's art pure amazing.

    She was so incredibly influential. I always see her influence, in my city. Tucson. There are abundant tributes to her here. To me, I would call it emotional cubism. It’s resonant, mysterious, and has real feeling behind it.

    She's so smart. I read a quote by her. It's not exact but she said she had been so lonely at times, she was glad to see a mouse.
