I couldnt agree with you more. Our grandparent's generation, we the children of the 60's & 70's. Many of them served in WWII, & Jerry was one of them. Proud & shameless of his Christianity, just as you say... There was a time when discussing Christian beliefs & values on TV was common, & not just on Sunday morning church shows. Any religion could be discussed, really. The world has become darker & existing powers have all but silenced this
Amen, I was telling someone the other night that if he was living today this world would be a different place. The sad thing is he had never heard of Jerry Clower. I think this young feller is on the right path now 😀
Watched him in 1960s early 70s. I graduated high school, left Arkansas and didn't look back. I didn't fully appreciate country humor and accent till I was 30 years older.
In 1985 I got to see Jerry Clower in Citronelle Alabama...a small town of about 4,000 people north of Mobile Alabama. He was so funny...NEVER ONE CUSS WORD!!!! He talked about how he loved coming to small towns & how he loved the family atmosphere & country lifestyle of a small town. I bet Jerry is in Heaven right now making Jesus, God , & all the Angel's laugh right now.
Except for Nashville, the small towns were the only places he went on tour. He did his show in Cleburne, Texas back around 1980. I wasnt there for that show, but that's the town nearest to me that he visited. His love of farm folk & small towns is what I like best about him, & other than the splendid life stories he told, Im convinced it is the reason for his success as a comedian
Just goes to show you you can be nice and clean and funny and successful without using uglely words. A true funny Christian man. RIP piece and a job well done.
I use to help daddy and uncle Ralph cut pup wood . I was 9-13 yrs old the both had full time jobs at night, daddy in the coal mines underground and ralph a welder for pullman standard building railcars
Humor doesn't really deal with death. And what a great testimony. A man faithful despite circumstances and in heaven now. Like Joseph, despite circumstances, he was faithful. I hope you stayed by him till the end.
No cursing and was not scared to lift up Jesus Christ this man was the last of a great generation hands down

The secret to great comedy is being a charismatic story teller.
One of the greatest that ever picked up a microphone, period.
I agree

The world is a little less bright without Mr Clower!!!

One of a kind that is sorely missed.

Youre right. He's no Jerry Clower, of course, but try not to forget Ron White

Where's the story about the old man who's broke and tithes every week even.though he can't afford, and gets eaten away by cancer?
